IATA STANDARDS FULLY IMPLEMENTED

Materna‘s CUSS platform implements the IATA CUSS standard. This standard defines uniform interfaces airline applications can use to access the peripheral devices within a kiosk , it provides the kiosk administrator with all facilities to control the application, e.g. to ensure that

no application blocks others. Materna‘s CUSS platform supports several printers (ATB, BTP, Receipt Printers, PDF417 Boarding Passes), card readers and passport readers (motorised, dip-in and swipe) and further devices such as biometric readers.

NEW TECHNOLOGIES

Airports are capable of providing shared Check-in facilities at the airport or off-premises, e.g. at a convention centre, railway stations or car rentals.

BAGGAGE DROP-OFF INCLUDED

Materna‘s CUSS platform also offers fully automated baggage drop off. Here, the CUSS kiosk controls a scale to determine baggage weight, a set of scanners to verify that bags were labelled correctly and a conveyer system that transports accepted bags to the baggage handling system.
