Hello everyone So 2014 has started in earnest with two shows under our belts already and a host of events, including the start of the qualifiers, coming up in the next couple of months. First up is the Top Score qualifier, and British Riding Clubs has announced with great disappointment that Royal Windsor Horse Show are no longer able to host the finals of the BRC Top Score and Dressage series. Windsor has been offered the opportunity to increase its international dressage and show jumping competitions which has meant that a number of classes have been removed from the busy show programme. Competitors who qualify for this competition will now be invited to compete in the same Championship classes which will take place at the BRC Festival of the Horse at Aston Le Walls on 31 May and 1 June 2014. Area 11’s planned top score and dressage qualifiers are still going ahead and CRC are holding the Top Score element on 16th February at Sands Farm in the afternoon. Entry to the Top Score qualifier classes is free to all CRC members, so come and have a go! (entries in advance required). The top three riders in each of the four sections (junior / senior / novice / intermediate) go forward to make an Area 11 team at the championships. We are very pleased to be participating in the Retraining of Racehorses Riding Clubs programme - there is a won-derful rosette on offer for the ex-racehorse registered with RoR winning the most points at each show—registration is free so if you have an ex-racer, make sure you register on the RoR website and let us know on your entry show forms. We are delighted to welcome new members that have joined the club recently and look forward to seeing you at our shows in the near future. For current members that have not yet managed to renew your memberships, please return your forms to Jayne Meldon (I think she has emailed you separately) as soon as you can so you don’t miss out on events, class discounts and the chance to ride on CRC teams. To keep up with latest news, check out our Facebook page—connect with Chipstead RidingClub and add us as a “close friend” to get all our posts to your inbox, rather than having to scroll through your news feed to keep up to date. Looking forward to riding with you all soon,

CHIPSTEAD RIDING CLUB AGM MINUTES 20th NOVEMBER 2013 CHIPSTEAD FOOTBALL CLUB Club Chair Jackie Russell welcomed members and guests to the CRC AGM, and officially declared the meeting open. Apologies were received from: Lisa Blackwell, Lynne Clark, Sorella Staines, Maggi Stovold, Jane Moore, Judy Colbourn, Lucy Tomkins, Bridget Parry-James, Rob Belton, Fay Parker and Nikki Bradford. Approval of last minutes was made by Rob Belton and seconded by Laura Poole. Committee Elections were confirmed. We are delighted to welcome Irene Compton back onto the committee af-ter a break of 5 years, and new committee member Julie

Evans who will take over running teams. Current elected committee members are confirmed as: Rob Belton, Judy Colbourne, Irene Compton, Julie Evans, Barbara Goodall, Julie Hawkins (Secretary), Rachel Mander, Jayne Meldon, Jane Moore, Jackie Russell (Chair), Sorella Staines, Maggie Stovold, and Elaine Welsford. Barbara Goodall resigned from her post as Treasurer but remains on the committee and Chantelle Evans offered to take this post at the meeting, and was appointed to the committee with immediate effect to take this role from Barbara. Karen Conran and Charlotte Davy also offered their service to the club as committee members and were likewise appointed to the committee at the meeting. Laura Poole has stepped down from the committee after 6 years of service. Her commitment to the club was recog-nised by the Area 11 committee who recently awarded her the Molly Abraham Trophy which is presented annually to

a Riding Club member who is judged to have given out-standing service to the Area and their Club. It is intended to reward help rather than riding achievements. Each year Clubs are asked to submit the name of any person along with a brief resume of why they merit this award. We sub-mitted this: “Laura has been a member of CRC for many years and was elected to the committee in October 2007. Despite having a young daughter, training for her accoun-tancy exams and caring for four horses on DIY including one that she regularly competed herself, Laura always found time to help at Chipstead Riding Club shows, doing whatever it took to ensure the work was done and the shows were run as professionally as possible. “No” is not in Laura’s vocabulary and she often sacrifices her own riding, or family time, to ensure the job was done. She has roped in her entire family to support the club and they are often seen jump judging, on gate duty or lugging equipment around at our shows to ensure they run smoothly. Laura was a regular on CRC teams and as her horse went into retirement and Laura’s daughter grew older, Laura is now “on the ground” at many of the team events we at-tend, either as groom or as our volunteer to help the show run. They (Laura and subsequently her competing daugh-ter / horses) were / are always immaculately turned out and represent the club (and the Area) to the highest stan-dard. Laura has recently stepped down from the Committee af-ter 6 years of hard work to focus on her young horse and family but remains a member of the club. Her attention to detail, ever dependable nature, and commitment to the club will be missed greatly by the rest of us on the com-mittee – she has been a true diamond committee member

and will be very difficult to replace.” The committee were officially thanked for their efforts over the year. Members were invited to propose themselves or others for election onto the committee. The Chair then presented club league table awards as below using the new points system based on class sizes: Senior League Julie Evans on The Rockstar with 94 Bridget Collender on Zandocan P with 87 Junior League Lucy Pearce on Mo Boy with 101 points Lucy Tomkins on Dougal with 96 points Superpet Trophy for points won in winter jumping Frances Goodsir on Sydserff Golden Wych Elm with 39 pts Hannah Smith on Gilly with 31 points Clara Trophy for points in show jumping over the year Tracy Pearce on King Rollo with 50 points Lucy Tomkins on Dougal with 47 points Purley Trading Post –junior points won in dressage (year) Lucy Pearce on Mo Boy with 62 points Jessica Hudson on Red Charlie with 52 points Fairholm Dressage Trophy for the most points won over the winter dressage series Claire Hempston on Squiggle with 56 points Frances Goodsir on Fredericksminde Hazy Miracle, 54 pts

Those of you who were able to attend the AGM will be aware that we were lucky enough to elect new committee members on the night who volunteered to do-nate some of their time to help run the club. In fact, we were so lucky, we managed to gain FIVE new (well, nearly new) committee members—all long-standing supporters of the club who will be a massive boost to your committee as we plan, organise and hold events during 2014 and onwards. You may well know them already, but if not, they are featured below. I am sure you will join me in welcoming them and thanking them in advance for their time and efforts.

NEW COMMITTEENEW COMMITTEE

Hi, our names are Julie and Chantelle Evans, and we have been members of Chipstead for many years and have finally agreed to join the committee. We have both ridden since we could walk and

currently own two horses: Danny and Twiglett. We enjoy competing for the club with Chantelle competing in all disciplines whereas

Julie likes to keep all 4 feet on the ground, competing in dressage.

Chantelle is CRC’s new Treasurer, whilst Julie will be Team Manager / Co-ordinator

for the many events we attend.

Hello, I’m Karen Conran. I have

been at the same yard for 25 years and have loaned and owned quite a few horses in

this time and still look after the first

pony I loaned those many years ago he is now 30 years young :-)

I have been involved with the Chipstead

riding club for many years and have really enjoyed the last few years when I have been lucky enough to compete in many team events and have achieved some great results. I have recently bought a new horse and hope that he will be as

reliable as my last horse, Jack. Good luck to all for 2014. I look forward

to meeting new and old faces.

Hello, I’m Irene Compton. I have spent a lifetime with horses from producing and showing Arabian Horses and Miniature Horses, organising many events for the South East Arabian Group, and the Arab Horse Society & Chipstead Riding Club, through to working in the Equestrian Retail industry for the past 20 years. I was previously on the Chipstead Riding Club Committee for 30 years, and after taking a break of 4 years, have come back to help where I can. Chipstead Riding Club is an extremely important part of our local horse community offering clinics and events for horse owners to take part in, and I am keen to see the riding club continue to grow from the very successful club it has become.

I currently have four Miniature Horses, which I show when time permits, along with range of other animals. I am keen to help the novice owner and rider and am always willing to offer help and advice when asked.

Hi, I’m Charlotte Davy and new to the committed this year. I am 21 years old and own a 7 year old Connemara called

Mylo.

Karen plans to organise some clinics to help everyone at any level

achieve their goals,

Charlotte is keen to be a part of new activities in the club hoping to arrange a quadrille team if anyone is interested?

She hopes to also plan a beach ride and some more social events for club

members to participate in. Any ideas? She would love to hear from you.

The 6th October 2013 saw the London & South East Championships take place at Heath Farm—site of Munstead Horse Trials, near Go-dalming. CRC had two eventing teams and one dressage team taking part, and was responsible for running the pure show-jumping section throughout the day (ironically, the one competition we did not qual-ify for), which meant there were a lot of us there for a lot of the day, doing a lot of things! Blue Team Eventers: Cream Team Eventers: Chantelle Evans on Danny Kathy Seller on Spencer Marie Manning on Oli Katie Holloway on Gemini Steph Bishop on Lance Karen Conran on Jack Lucy Tomkins on Dougal Julie Hawkins on Foggy Dressage Team: Bridget Collender on Zandocan P Lindsay Cutler of Wexford Special Envoy Lucy Pearce on Mo Boy Julie Evans on Danny Despite putting in solid performances all round, we were not quite good enough to challenge the leaders for the red ribbons. The eventers came 10th and 12th out of the 20 teams competing, but it was Bridget Collender riding her lovely chestnut Zandocan P who flew the Chipstead Flag, with 6th place in her dressage arena—our only individual to be placed. Over in the show jumping arena Jackie and Jayne were ensuring it all ran without a hitch, supported by our com-petitors who all took a shift on pole picking throughout the afternoon, and with Irene who judged the Best Turned out team during the morning—many thanks all of you, the Area committee were very complementary about how well we ran the ring. The L&SE qualifiers start again in the spring so look out for them in the newsletters—let’s have teams in all disci-plines this year!

Felbridge SJFelbridge SJ We had a busy day at Felbridge on 20th October which drew large numbers for our early classes making the competition tough for our members there on the day. Junior member Caitlin Spalding riding Tarquin did really well to come sixth in the Novice class against a field of 39 other competitors (maybe Mum had set him up nicely for you when she took him round the Minimus course, hey?) and it was great to so many of our other members taking part also: Frances Goodsir had a busy (and long) day with a ride in every class, her lovely Connemara’s Cal and Elm showed us why these native ponies are so great; Lyndsey Cutler, usually seen on her dressage horse these days, surprised us by appearing on Cheeky Charlie her jumping pony who carried her confidently round the Minimus course; Sophie Woolford jumped beautifully round the Novice course on Minted Murray; David Tucker gained extra gold stars for being beautifully turned out (below left) as he and his lovely mare Dixie popped round the novice and intermediate tracks - thank you David—your efforts did not go un-noticed; Junior member Hannah Smith bought along her new horse Russian Storm (below right), recently out of racing and making a good start as a riding club all-rounder; Jenny Kent and Donnegan showed great progress as they popped round the Intermediate course with ease; as did Chantelle Evans on Danny. Huge thanks goes to our helpers on the day—especially as it rained cats and dogs for about an hour in the afternoon putting a bit of a dampener on things for a while. Poor Tim Mander thought he was just hanging around while Rachel jump judged along with Lynne Clark, but found himself pole picking, and a tad wet…. Also Flic and Fiona Goodsir, who had kindly offered to help while they were there with Frances, got a drenching whilst on gate duty. The clouds cleared though giving better light for the final class, and we managed to finish the day in relatively dry conditions around 5pm. Our next jumping is at Sands Farm on 16th Feb which is also the Area 11 Top Score quali-

fier so come on you jumpers—come and have another go (for free)! Julie Hawkins

Back in November we held the first of the winter series dressage, the day dawned bright with no rain, do you remem-ber those days?!?! We had a full day and managed to start on time and keep to time throughout the day, not as easy as you might imagine. We had a full class for the Intro B with only a few members competing so it was nice to see committee member Ra-chel Mander coming first on Castlehoward Spicy Imp, and Lisa Blackwell coming 4th on Connie, the top five placings were very close with only 1.5% separating them. Next was Prelim 4 and it was lovely to see the first five places being taken by Chipstead Riding Club members, Lucy Tompkins on a rare foray into dressage came 1st on PontsGreen Uist, as well as coming 2nd in both the Prelim 13 and Prix Caprilli. Khristyne Crowe-Haylett came in second on Dorothy and Bridget Parry-James was third on Sweet Wispa. Charlotte Davy topped the Prelim 13 class on Kippure Mighty Milo and also came third in the Prix Caprilli, whilst Lisa Blackwell came third this time riding Lilley. Well done to one of our newest committee members, Chantelle Evans on Ayemkay Moonman of Mars who triumphed in the Prix Caprilli, this test is getting more popular as time goes on. The Novice 24 class ended up a members only class, with Julie Evans on The Rockstar coming first, closely followed by Kate Spalding on Tarquin in second place. Both also did well in the last class of the day, the mixed class, with Julie coming second and Kate coming third. A dry day was had by all, thank you to everyone that help, including Judges, writers, stewards, cooks and bottle wash-ers, you know who you are and we couldn’t run these events without you.

Dressage Qualifier | CRC’s Area 11 QuizDressage Qualifier | CRC’s Area 11 Quiz Indoor National Dressage Qualifier at Merrist Wood, 17th Nov ‘13 We had two teams for this qualifier this year - both juniors and seniors which was really great. Our Junior team (pictured below, left to right), consisted of Lucy Pearce on Mo Boy and Libby Halls on Indio doing Prelim 7, with Jess Hudson on Red Charlie and Charlie Escott on Jimmy Mac doing Novice 30. All their tests went well, but it wasn’t enough to beat the experienced Elstead team so we came home with a second place. The senior team consisted of Chantelle Evans on Twigglet and me on Danny doing Prelim 7, with Bridget Collender on Zandocan P and Viv Pearson on Oblio doing Novice 30. We came 11th out the of 20 teams taking part, so not a bad result at a National Qualifier. Well done girls for being immaculately turned out as always and if there was a rosette for that, Chipstead would win it hands down.

Julie Evans, Team Manager

Area 11 Quiz, The Watermill, Dorking, 18th Nov ‘13 Chipstead hosted the annual area quiz at the Watermill in Dorking. In an effort to attract more teams the date had been moved to No-vember, as this was thought to be a quieter time of the year. On the night there were 7 teams. Two from Elstead, two from Chip-stead and on each from Newlands Corner, West Surrey and North Downs. There were 6 rounds on subjects such as horses at the films, litera-ture and general care. The scoring in the first three rounds was close with the lead changing between Elstead and West Surrey, with the Chipstead teams close behind. The last rounds were based around the HOYS championships and racing which proved to be the decisive rounds. West Surrey drew ahead with Elstead Red second followed by the two Chipstead teams in 3rd and 4th. The winners received the Area shield and rosettes, plus a choice of wine, chocolates and indoor plants. The Chipstead team members were Kathy Seller, Andrea Worgan, Sue Bebber, Viv Pearson, Darren Price and Libby Halls. My thanks to Jayne Meldon who ably assisted on the night and to all the members who made up the CRC teams. We will have that shield one year!!

On 13th December 30 members and friends joined us at Hick-stead for what appears to have become our annual Christmas Party. As you can see from the pics – a great night was had by all. The venue is really nice for a Christmas do - although a little further away than is ideal, every-one managed to sort themselves out either sharing cars, staying in the local hotel or sharing cabs. The party is held in the members suite (which in daylight overlooks the main arena) and with no queues at the bar and a big dance floor - great for Red Cross Vince to show off his dance moves…! It would be brilliant if more of you could join us next year, you are obviously more than wel-come to bring along partners/friends – the more the merrier! Thanks to Hickstead for their hospitality, and to everyone who came along for your company and the laughs. Look forward to doing it all again next year.

OLYMPIAOLYMPIASunday 22nd December

On 22nd December CRC made their annual trip to Olympia. We decided this year to try a daytime visit this year, allowing us to make the most of a 30% discount on the ticket price. We set off bright and early 9am Sunday morn-ing (seemed very early for those of us that had been out ‘celebrating’ Christmas the night before). With no traffic, we made it to Earls Court in about 40 minutes and got dropped off right outside the doors just as they opened – fabulous, first in to the shopping village which was lovely and quiet! The shopping was great with loads of Christmas pressie ideas for last minute shoppers and due to it being the last day of the show, lots of horsey bargains, in fact some people did so much shopping that it had to be put in the luggage compartment in the coach for the journey home (didn’t they - Katie Holloway…?!) The performance itself was great. We were treated to a brilliant Six Bar show jumping competition, where riders jump six (huge!) fences in a row with just 2 strides between each. The Shetland Pony Grand National and Dog Agility were great fun to watch, and the commentator encouraged the children to scream for their favourites (not good for the hangover…) The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art put on a great display with 10 stallions riding nose to tail in a Quadrille, and the main show jumping class was superb. For the first time, we were also treated to the BSPS Mountain and Moorland Championship finals – how lovely to see all the best of our Native breeds in the arena at one time. A great day was topped off with a Christmassy Dickens themed finale with a bit of Carol singing – perfect! The box office opens in May so look out for details in the newsletter after that time for next year’s trip. Any suggestions for which dates you would like me to book for next year are welcome – just let me know.

Christmas comes but once a year… unless of course you attended the CRC Eventer Challenge at Sands Farm Equestrian Centre which took place on 19th January! Preparations began on Saturday evening with John Farrell building an exciting course of showj umps and rustic fences and the traditional after build party at the Sussex Oak pub for refuelling. The end result was a real cross country look and feel, thanks to the kind donation from Martina Slater and Foxhollow Nursery of twenty Scotts Pine firs—left over from Christmas but given a new lease of life by CRC, together with Farm Fencing’s display (our event sponsor) which incorporated the Mainbale Haylage and treats for prizes which had been kindly donated by Dawn Cheesbrough of JRT Forage. The weather was thankfully very kind to us this year with even an appearance of sunshine. Entries were a little down on last year, probably because of the indoor hunter trial and Jazz held at Merrist Wood. But the event was still well attended and provided some stiff competition in all classes. The classes had generous prizes and placings down to 10th – which included the very yummy horse themed cupcakes as prizes kindly donated by Violet Crumb for riders (and yes they tasted as good as they looked), Mainbale Haylage and tubs of Tasty Treats for horses. In the 75cms class, new committee members Karen Conran and Charlotte Davy were both in the ribbons — which are kindly sponsored throughout the season by Gayton Veterinary Group, with Julie Hawkins coming 6th and also taking the Retraining of Racehorses rosette for the horse winning the most points at the show. New Member Sophie Woolford on Minted Murray was hot on Julie’s heels, making it a CRC 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th. It was also nice to see Chantelle Evans on her young horse Twiglett, and Bridgett Parry–James on Whispa sup-porting the event in this class, together with a number of non-members who return year after year. The 85cms novice class was won by non member Sally Randles on Chloe. Highest place member went to a delighted Libby Halls on Indio who was presented with the Freddy Leathers memorial Trophy by Jackie Rus-sell, Club Chair, with club members Stephanie Bishop on Lance and Kathy Seller on Spencer also in the plac-ings. Class 3, over the 95cm course, saw Lucy Tomkins ride a great and speedy round on her very reliable Dougal coming in 6th Place, frustratingly for Dad Liam who was helping on the door, watching, she forgot to ride through the finish initially which probably cost her a higher placing. The final 1 meter class of the day saw the club’s Helen Buckman on Archer just pipped to first place by Melisa Joannides (who also managed third in the same class on Foxglove). Melissa took haylage as her prize leaving the cupcakes for Helen, as pictured right, with Irene Compton who was there to present prizes on half of Farm Fencing. For those who haven’t seen the photos from the event check out www.ivisualise.com. Carlos managed to capture the spirit of the day in some of these shots, or if you competed don’t forget to check out your individual photos. Thanks to Matt for being in attendance as paramedic – luckily there weren’t too many falls or injury’s but it’s always good to know he’s there if needed. Thank you too for all the other helpers for setting up the night before (Libby, Viv, Darren, Lorrain, Tim, Rachel, Jackie, Julie H, Sorella, Julie E and Chantelle), assisting on the day (Rob, Sue, Liam, Julie E and Jackie), and jump judges (Sorella & Julie H) —the show couldn’t be run without you. (Ed—and nor without you Ali—thank you SO much for running this so well for the Club) Feedback on the day from all the competitors was extremely positive which makes the effort of building the course so worthwhile. If you came along I am sure you will agree, if you didn’t please put it in your diary for next year! Well done to all the competitors and for those who were lucky enough, I hope you and your horses enjoy their prizes.

Alison Manning, Show Secretary

TRAINING Hello everybody. Karen here. I have just joined the committee and I am looking into organising some clinics jumping and dressage. I have already been in touch with Littleton Manor for a venue and Sally Thurloway (instructor) and been given some prices which work out about £30 each for a group lesson max 4. I thought I would first find out what interest there may be! It would be great if you are interested if you could pop me and email to say what discipline you would like and let me know if you have any preferences on which in-structors or venues? I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, Karen Conran [email protected]

RIDING FOR THE CLUBRIDING FOR THE CLUB As we start the new year, this is a great opportunity to give details of how club members can participate in qualifiers and represent CRC on our teams—a reminder for our longer-standing members who may have done some of this in the past, and an overview for newer members, or those that have never done this before.

The club pays for Championship entries and pre-entries, with members paying their individual entry fee. This way we can afford to have as many of you competing that wish to, rather than team represen-tatives being restricted by funds which are not always available.

There are four types of qualifiers and we try to participate in as many as possible, provided you, CRC members, wish to take part: 1. National Qualifiers 2. London & South East Qualifiers (L&SE) 3. Other qualifiers run by non BRC organisations 4. “Friendly’s”

Qualifiers in this category qualify for one of the five National Championships run by BRC head office. These are:

WINTER CHAMPIONSHIPS: prelim level dressage and novice height (85cms) jump-ing. Qualifiers take place between October to February with the Championship at Hartpury in March / April each year.

FESTIVAL OF THE HORSE: eventer chal-lenge, combined training and Top Score. Qualifiers take place between October to April with the Championships at Aston Le Walls in late May / early June each year.

HORSE TRIALS: 80, 90, 100 and 100+. Qualifiers take place in Spring with the Championships at Swalcliffe in early Aug.

DRESSAGE TO MUSIC: prelim, novice and elementary, pairs and also quadrille. The qualifier takes place in the summer at Sands Farm with Championships in Oct.

The quadrille selection takes place at the Championships with the four highest teams competing at Olympia.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS: SJ at 80, 90 and 110 also style jumping, and riding test, dressage (prelim to medium, teams of four and pairs). Qualifiers take place in Spring / Summer with the Championships at Lincoln Showground in September. All the above are for Juniors or Seniors. Teams of 4 or individuals. All need correct horse jabs fully recorded and shown.

Qualifiers in this category qualify for the London & South East Championships run by clubs in the South East Area. The Championships take place in late Septem-ber / Early October each year at a venue in the L&SE Area (i.e. Munstead, Coom-belands, Rackham, etc). Events at the Championship are run on a team of 4 only basis with one junior al-lowed per team. The top six teams qualify for the Championships. SHOW JUMPING: 80cms first round, 85cms second round with jump off at 90cms if equality of penalties. Qualifier takes place in early Summer at Bookham RC HORSE TRIALS: 90cms SJ and XC, this L&SE Qualifier is usually combined with the National Qualifier in Spring. DRESSAGE: prelim level dressage. The Qualifier takes place in June / July and is run by CRC so entry to this event is free. RIDING TEST: prelim level Riding Test. The Qualifier takes place in June / July and is run by CRC so entry to this event is free. Jab cards do not need to be shown for L&SE Qualifiers / Championship

We are lucky enough to be located close to two major equestrian venues that hold rid-ing club competitions, giving our members the opportunity to compete and represent the Club at these prestigious venues. In late July / early August each year, Hickstead hold a Riding Clubs teams of three jumping class at the end of their Royal International meeting. Three riders make up a team, one jumps 85cms, one 95cms and one 105cms. The time taken and penalties accumulated over the single timed round for each rider are accumu-lated and added up to make up the leader-board. There are usually around 100 com-peting teams and competition is fierce. In 2012 CRC red team was placed second with a triple clear—just one of two clubs to achieve this. In September, Blenheim International Horse Trials holds a Riding Clubs Eventer Challenge competition during the Interna-tional Horse Trials Event. Teams of 4 (which can include one junior) jump con-currently over an eventer challenge course of showjumps and cross country fences up to 1m in height. The course is timed with penalties for knockdowns, refusals and exceeding the time, and the team with few-est penalties wins. On our first year taking part in this competition in 2011, CRC won, beating 44 other teams.

Within Area 11, usually over the winter, various friendly team competitions take place. Two DRESSAGE events are run, using ven-ues such as Merrist Wood and Prior EC, between November and March. Teams of four, generally two prelim and two novice tests. One SHOW JUMPING event is held by Elstead Riding Club at their field in Novem-ber. Teams of three jump with one ride each at 80cms, 90cms and 1m. CRC Club Chair Jackie Russell runs the Area 11 equestrian quiz with teams of three from clubs in the area taking part. This takes place in November at the Water-mill Pub in Dorking.

NATIONAL L&SE OTHER FRIENDLY

So, if any of this appeals, and you would like to take part, look out for the call for competitors in the newsletters (over the page) or let Julie Evans, Team Manager, know in advance and we can keep you in mind as we pull together teams. As the team environment can sometimes be quite pressured, make sure you are out competing successfully in the competition you wish to do before nominating yourself, and if there is an associated Champion-ship, please ensure you are able to attend should we be lucky enough to qualify.
