DO YOU KNOW? Questions to ponder as a family

Sponsored by St. Gianna’s Witnesses

Prior to receiving the Eucharist at Mass we say, “Lord I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof…” This verse comes from the Bible.

Who said it to Jesus?

August 4, 2019

Hola! I am very excited and blessed to a part of the staffs of Holy Redeemer Church and St. Gregory Church. I am originally from Houston, Texas. My parents, Jorge and Carla, are originally from El Salvador and reside in Houston.

After high school, I joined a missionary group called NET Ministries, where I traveled across the country, for nine months, conducting retreats for middle and high school students. I had the privilege of attending Franciscan University and graduated with a degree in social work with a minor in Theology.

Following my education at Franciscan University, I moved to Brooklyn, New York to work as a youth and young adult minister for three parishes. At the same time, I began my studies for a Master’s Degree at Fordham University in Manhattan. Then, I moved to Beaver, Pa. to marry my wife, Kate, on June 29, 2019.

My new position as Youth Minister here and my marriage is the newest chapter of my life. I could not have achieved all of this without God’s grace and the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

There is so much that I am eager to share about how the Lord has worked in my life to everyone involved within our parish ministries.

My hope is I will cultivate an authentic Catholic culture for the youth and young adults present here at St. Gregory and Holy Redeemer Parishes. For the first year, my focus will be to establish weekly, consistent events throughout the year. These events vary from social groups to discussion groups. My aim is to meet the basic spiritual needs of our youth attending the program. Truly, it takes a community to create faithful disciples So, please send all the prayers you can to continue the work in God’s vineyard here.

We are really in interesting times within our church that is calling US ALL. As our program develops, we may call on your help to support our group, please open your hearts to this possibility. Yours in Christ, Diego Araujo
