Ryan Childers President 2012-2013 Celebrate Rotary Number 21 for the Week of December 6, 2012 Reverend Ron introduced our guest speaker, Tina Husse from the Depart- ment of Social Services. Tina works for the division of Child Protective Services and was a colleague of Lau- rie Van Der Griff. The CPS each year to honor Laurie, has a Christ- mas Toy drive. The department hosts a Christmas celebration for 200 children ages 1 to 18 and provides toy’s or clothes for them. Tina came to ask the help of Rotarians for dona- tion of toy, etc. These items need to be un- wrapped and can be dropped off at Social Services, Suite#101. Help bring some joy to these youngsters who are in the care of CPS and live in a foster home. Please introduce your- self to Chris and welcome him to Rotary. Diane Cason passed around the sign-up sheet for the Christmas party. Bring your spouse or significant other and any children. Re- member, Santa will be there, so bring a gift! Lee Hindman announced the birth of another grandchild. Lee’s son Tyler is the proud father of a new daughter. Mon- ey was collected for her bank account, which Lee will match. WHINING AND FINING

Gabe Contreras was the first person fined and it was for a cell

phone vio-lation, $25. President Ryan wel-comed James Tay-lor back after miss-ing several meeting with a $50

fine. James has been busy with work and was fined for being “boring.” Cliff Caldwell was fined for not having his badge on, $25 and another fine of $50 for a recent trip to San Francisco where he thoughtfully brought Ryan a “poop” book. Cliff was much less boring! Andy Horne was fined $25 for making a “rude” comment. Trish McNeece re-

cently went on a vacation to Park City, Utah and was kind enough to bring President Ryan a “bribe”, a

flask containing some Jack Daniel’s. For this, Trish’s fine was handed over to Dr. Budde who will pay

Trish’s fine of $50. David Cason caused no fines, but received a “nice” hello from the Prez.

The El Centro Rotary Club meets on Thursday noon

at the PAL facility 1100 North 4th Street
