• An associate setting up shelf tag backers

• A store manager

This course will take approximately 30 minutes.

You should take this if you are:

• An associate setting up shelf tag backers

• A store manager

• Read the components of a shelf tag, including usage indicators and identifying title, author, price, etc.

• Identify the various choices that Follett offers for each book – New, Used, Rental, Digital Buy, and Digital Rent

• Assemble the shelf tag backer based on the shelf tag information

Step 1:Print shelf tag. If a 2nd shelf tag with “Downloadable ebook” prints below the title, then it contains a digital title. Continue with the remainder of Step 1 instructions. If not, go to Step 2.

1. Tear off along the perforation the digital portion of the shelf tag backer (right ear).

1. Fold back the rental portion of the shelf tag backer (left ear) and secure with the pre-applied adhesive.

Assemble – Book Ticket Pad Assembly

ASSEMBLE

1. Select the appropriate digital book ticket pad (blue for digital Rent and white for digital Buy). Select a Rent book ticket pad if “Subscription Days (180)” displays after the title on the shelf tag. “Subscription Days (180)” may be truncated if the title is long.

If “Subscription Days (180)” does not display after the title, select a Buy book ticket pad.

2. Print the digital textbook CourseTracks Type 6 barcode blaster labels (JDA tickets).


(For Setups C, D, E, and F)



Assemble – Book Ticket Pad Assembly

3. Affix a label to the back of each digital book ticket.

4. Slide the cardboard book ticket backer through the slot on the digital side of the shelf tag backer. Secure the back with the pre-applied adhesive.

5. Add the digital book price in clear handwriting to the digital side of the shelf tag backer. Refer to the digital shelf tag for the price.

Assemble – Holder AssemblyVinyl Holder Assembly1. Separate along the perforation and lift the shelf tag backer arms.2. Slide the arms into the vinyl holder.3. Secure with the tabs on the digital ear (if applicable).

Acrylic Holder Assembly1. Open the acrylic cover from the top.2. Slide the shelf tag backer from the top into the cover behind the shelf tag.

Discard

Discard the second shelf tag if your setup contains a digital Rent or digital Buy option (Setups C, D, E, and F).

Important: Only Discard the second shelf tag after you have completed all steps.

2. Recycle or throw away second shelf tag.

1. Complete all shelf tag backer steps.



• Sample shelf tags, shelf tag backers, book ticket pads, JDA tickets, and holders on the table

• Get into groups of 2 or 3 and each person assemble a different set up (A, B, C, D, E, and F)

• Discuss, explaining why you chose the setup and the steps
