busy next week as they prepare food

to serve at the annual Christmas

lunch open to all in the fellowship

hall at 682 Richpond-Rockfield Road

on Christmas Day between noon and

2 p.m.

Several�folks will happily cook the

traditional Christmas meal for those

who come for the fellowship or who

receive to-go boxes taken to shut-ins

and emergency workers�who protect

us on Christmas Day.

The�meal began as a tradition in

2004; the gathering was seen as an

opportunity for church families and

others to come together. Last year

about 100 meals were served and

some 50 to-go boxes were delivered.�

This year the�meal will continue to

be open to those who have no family

nearby; are alone, hungry, or in need;

or�just want to be together with others

on this special day. The church family

welcomes one and all.� They’ll be

taking meals to�those who�are on duty

at fire stations and at police and

sheriff’s departments.�Also receiving

meals will be firemen delivering Toys

for Tots. �

Many will be helping with the food

preparation, serving, welcoming,

delivering and cleanup. For further

The Christmas meal has proven to

be a blessing for the Rockfield church

and all who enjoy the fellowship

I recently discovered a way to put Borax to good use - crystal pipe cleaner ornaments. These holiday decorations are a snap to make and will last quite a long time.

What You’ll Need: • White Pipe Cleaners • String • Twig/Pencil • Borax (20 Mule Team Laundry Booster. Do not use Boraxo Soap.) • Water • Blue Food Coloring (optional) • Jars Large Enough to Submerge Ornament in Borax Solution

Steps: 1. Fashion your ornaments out of white pipe cleaners or any other color of your choosing. I made spi rals but you can make a wide range of shapes. Just use your imagination. 2. Tie one end of your string to the top of your ornament and the other end to your twig or pencil. Or, if your shape

allows, bend the tip of the pipe cleaner over your twig to hold the ornament in place. 3. Mix together your crystal solution at a ratio of 3 tablespoons of Borax to one cup of boiling wat er. Stir until the Borax dissolves. Don’t expect all of the powder to dissolve, some may settle on the bottom. To give your crystal a slightly blue cast, add a drop or two of blue food coloring. 4. Pour the crystal solution into a wide mouth jar. You will need enough of this solution to submerg e your pipe cleaner ornament. You can divide it among several jars if you want to make more than one ornament. 5. Submerge your ornament in the crystal solution with the twig resting on the lip of the jar so tha t the ornament hangs freely. You do not want the ornament to touch the bottom of the jar Borax Cyrstal 6. Leave the ornament in place for overnight.

In the morning you should have a beautiful holiday ornament covered in crystals! While Borax is a n earth friendly cleaner, it is not edible. So keep your ornaments away from small children and pets.

There's so much equipment from which to choose,If he had any one, a few pounds he could lose.The listings I searched for one he might like,An elliptical, treadmill or stationary bike?

And then, in a twinkling, an ad caught my eye,For a complete home gym I wanted to buy.So the seller I called and he answered the phone,A right jolly old fellow said, "Come over I'm home."

He was waiting at the door, all decked out in red,Complete with a Santa cap placed on his head;With a cherry red nose he was quite full of cheer,Could it be too much eggnog or too many beers?

His eyes-how they twinkled! His beard was snow white!

He seemed so familiar, a memorable sight!He had a broad face and smiled with a grin,That drew much attention to his big double chin;

"The equipment," he shared, "is in like new condition,It'll get you in shape if you have the ambition;Try crunches and presses and work every limb,I used it quite often when I used to be slim.

See my job it requires just a few extra pounds,And I do understand how crazy that sounds;But I'll give you the gym at a rock bottom price,I can see in your eyes you're not naughty, but nice;"

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,And magically lifted it up with a jerk,To the car he went and strapped it on snug,Then turned to me quickly and gave me a hug;

"Thank you," I said, "for completing my mission,"As I glanced back at him, I turned the ignition.Then I heard him exclaim as I drove out of sight,"Happy Christmas to all,

and to all a Good-Night."
