Early Years (0-5) Giving every child a good start – why is it so
important?
Investment in the early years of life is highly
effective in terms of the impact on future
health and wellbeing and is highly cost-
effective.
Has lifelong effects on many aspects of
health and wellbeing, from obesity, heart
disease and mental health, to educational
achievement and economic status.
Essential for the future success of Medway
and the health and wellbeing of people in
Medway.
Healthy Pregnancy
Grow my brain campaign
Supporting and promoting a healthy pregnancy is
important for the baby’s growth and development,
we do this by:
Educating, advising and encourage women to :
eat healthily
make sure that they are getting the correct
vitamins and minerals from their food
supporting good mental health
help them to stopping smoking, using drugs and
alcohol misuse
dispelling the myths in terms of exercise during
pregnancy.
