For the past thirteen years, we have been working with elected officials on all levels of government, providing governors, Members of Congress and mayors a wide array of innovative strategies utilizing phone technology to interact directly with constituents.   Telephone Town Halls meld a traditional form of communication with a 21st century web interface to create an interactive city-wide Town Hall meeting. Telephone Town Halls allow for a two-way conversation with constituents, giving both participants and the mayor a chance to be heard. The event starts with a phone call to the constituent with a short message from the mayor asking them to stay on the line to join the conversation. Once the constituent joins the Telephone Town Hall they are able to listen to the mayor, press a button on their phone to respond to polls or even ask a question live after being screened by your staff. The event feels a lot like a radio call-in show, except you remain in control the entire time. Using an online interface you can start poll questions, screen participants and select which constituent should ask their question live during the event. Features

Easy to Use Web Interface: The entire event is controlled through a web interface, allowing your staff to start poll questions and bring constituents live. It is easy to use, and unlike many consultants, we are there with you the entire time to ensure everything goes smoothly.

Training: All of the speakers, moderators and screeners are fully trained on site by our staff to ensure the event runs well.

Participant Call-In and Live Webcast: For those that miss the invite call the night of the event, they can use a toll-free line to call into the event and fully participate. The technology also allows us to stream the event live on the city’s homepage, providing unique social media opportunities.

Scripting: We work with your team to carefully script the event in order to maximize participation and impact.

Polling: With real time polling, participants can respond to questions on their telephone keypad. This is a powerful way to gauge constituent interest in important issues or for a city resident to request services from city offices. After the event our team provides the full data back, which includes participant responses and requests.

Voicemails: At the end of the event all remaining participants are automatically connected to a voicemail system where they can record a short message for the mayor. After the event we’ll provide the voicemails to you so you can follow up with those who have additional questions.

Automated Event Building Call Programs

Building buzz and increasing attendance at in-person events around the city is critically important for staff. Utilizing automated calls from the mayor to constituents informing them about scheduled Town Hall meetings will not only ensure crowded events, but also demonstrate the mayor’s commitment, concern and dedication to hearing the needs of constituents. Stones’ Phones has also developed user technology that allows mayors the ability to personalize these automated messages. Working like mail merge, we start by having the member record common names, locations or any other variables around the city. We are then able to broadcast truly personalized auto calls, where each constituent is addressed by name and hears their own neighborhood mentioned.

Issue-Based Automated Surveys

Utilizing interactive automated technology, mayors can quickly gauge where hundreds, thousands or tens of thousands of city residents stand on particular issues of the day. Participants answer the call live and then utilizing their telephone keypad, they can rate their level of support on particular city issues, providing the mayor and staff key feedback on important issues. By soliciting the views of constituents, mayors are able to build trust in the community and demonstrate their willingness to listen to the voices from around the community.

Why Stones’ Phones? For over a decade, Stones’ Phones has been working with Democratic elected officials on all levels of government bringing their message directly to constituents through various phone technology. Our award winning team of strategists and staff will work to make sure every phone program runs smoothly. We are frequently recognized for unparalleled customer service and we will be on hand in the office to run each event, taking the operational burden off of the mayor and their staff. In the past year, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake of Baltimore has hosted bi-monthly constituent Telephone Town Halls. During these interactive calls, Mayor Rawlings-Blake announces new initiatives, fields various constituent requests and is able to highlight city accomplishments. Over 130,000 city residents have been contacted to join a Telephone Town Hall and the mayor’s office has received hundreds of messages expressing appreciation for these events.

Telephone Town Halls Unlike most tools, Telephone Town Halls allow for a two-way conversation with constituents, giving both participants and the Member a chance to be heard. The event starts with a phone call to the voter with a short message from the Member asking them to stay on the line to join the conversation.

Once the constituent joins the Telephone Town Hall they are able to listen to the Member, press a button on their phone to respond to polls or even ask a question live after being screened by your staff. The event feels a lot like a radio call-in show, except you remain in control the entire time. Using an online interface you can start poll questions, screen participants and select who should ask their question live. Polling has shown that participants feel a real connection with the Member, and they view the experience as a one-on-one conversation. Participants can then bring your message to their family and friends, building trust back in the Congressional District or state.
