Additional information, PSG 5 The adaption described here can only be used if the injection pump has been removed from the vehicle and is to be serviced on an injection pump test bench. When fitted, diagnosis is implemented by way of the engine control unit (EDC). As the pump control unit transmits the stored faults (and other information) via the CAN bus to the engine control unit, it is only necessary to read out the fault memory of the engine control unit. Adaption options: The PSG5 pump control unit is mounted directly on the injection pump. Diagnosis of the pump control unit is performed via the intermediate adapter 0 986 612 447, which is connected between the pump control unit and engine control unit (EDC). This requires briefly breaking the connection between the two control units. The intermediate adapter is connected to the tester with a universal lead.
