News and reminders

SRE

I have continued to meet with parents this week regarding RSE – explaining

our curriculum and answering questions about specific concerns. I plan to

write down all questions and our answers and publish them, but I have more

meetings booked this week and next week so I will do so when I have held all

meetings.

4

As I stated last week, meetings are held in a well-ventilated room and we sit

socially distanced. Meetings are held with one parent/carer at a time (or two

parents of the same family if they live in the same bubble). If anyone would

like to bring an interpreter they are welcome but we ask that they are a

current parent at this school.

If you would be interested in having a meeting with Danielle and me to

discuss this further please email the school office: [email protected]

or telephone 020 7727 7727 and we will timetable you in. The original

presentation for the consultation is on the website under curriculum/

curriculum subjects/ RSE so please look at it again before the meeting. If you

would like to send your questions in advance, it would be helpful but equally,

we will answer questions on the day.

Places available at St Anne’s Nursery

We currently have places available in our Nursery for January

2021 and September 2021. These are usually taken up very

quickly, so if you wish to make an application for a younger

sibling, please speak to the office to ensure your place.

If you know of any families looking at Nurseries for their young children at the

moment, please also ask them to contact us. Even though they are unable to

visit in person, we will happily talk to them and send them further information

including a welcome video.

Seesaw Thank you for signing on to SeeSaw. One parent has pointed out a difficulty

using it on her phone and we are looking into this issue; if anyone else is

having a problem, please let us know. If you have not registered yet, please

do this ASAP so that your child is prepared in case we need to send a bubble

home. If you need further information or help, please ask.

Purchase of school uniform

We now have a new feature via the ParentMail App where you can order

and purchase uniform.

To order please make payments on the app by 3pm and your orders will be

ready for collection from 8.45am the next working day in the School Office.

Please ensure you order the correct size as we can only exchange items with

the labels and bags intact.

Thank you

Fabulous Learning

Nursery chidlren have been completing exciting

learning in their space station as part of their

project on space.

Anti-Bullying Fortnight

This week has been the second of our two week focus on anti-bullying. The

theme has been ‘United against Bullying’ and once again, we enjoyed

seeing interesting learning on this subject in our assemblies today.

Year 1- Anti-bullying

Year 1 children have been making friendship apples. They talked about them

in assembly and explained that each colour represents a different quality in a

friend – eg, kindness, trust, and being caring.

6

Reception children have been thinking about kind behaviours and thanking

their friends with special notes if they are kind to them.

Year 4 have been studying Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and they

looked at a scene in the film of the book. The children had to decide how

they would help Harry as the clip showed him being bullied by the character

Malfoy.

7

Daisy’s Y4 class have designed some anti-bullying posters

Phoebe’s Year 2 Class Assembly.

Phoebe’s Year 2 class performed their amazing assembly yesterday about

their learning so far this term – and what a lot they have achieved! From

creating time capsules, setting targets, writing about the Big Bad Wolf; to

learning about the properties of shapes, creating the most beautiful art work -

and showing huge talent in singing and dancing! Very well done to you all!

Parents of Phoebe’s Class will be sent a link via ParentMail so that you will be

able to watch

8

Year 5 have been reading the book ‘Wonder’ about a child with a

disfigurement. They have collaborated to give August the main character

advice if people make fun of him or bully him.

Matt’s Sporting Stars

Remember…Matt is looking forward to hearing from anyone who takes

part in sport, enters competitions or is a member of a sports club outside of

school. Please send in photos and some explanation of your sport outside

school so that we can all hear about it! We have heard from Nala this

week:

This is Nala in Year 1. Nala attends Jiu jitsu 4 times a week. The first picture was

taken last November and the second picture this September. She hasn’t

been from March until September due to lock down. Nala is excited to get

her next belt.
