Want to solve real-world problems with real-life data? Statistics are everywhere and so is the demand for good statisticians, research methodologists and evaluators. The University of Northern Colorado’s doctoral program in Applied Statistics and Research Methods will prepare you to be a critical thinker with the skills needed to conduct meaningful research. You will learn how to: • Bridge the gap between statistical theory and practice • Focus on real-world issues in a variety of fields • Apply quantitative and qualitative methodologies and measurements • Analyze data and apply the results to create change About 30 percent of statisticians work for federal, state or local governments. In addition to government jobs, this degree will qualify you to teach at the university level, provide leadership in research studies in a variety of disciplines and consult in research methods and data analysis in education and industry. This degree has a 64-credit requirement and takes four to six years to complete. In addition to coursework, completion of the doctoral program requires a student-selected concentration area or cognate, written and oral comprehensive examinations and dissertation research.
