Colgate is truly global business serving millions of consumers worldwide. With the brands 200-year history, Colgate is amongst one of the world’s most recognisable household names. In Australia, Colgate is a leader in the development and manufacturing of brands such as ‘Cuddly’, ‘Dynamo’ and ‘Spray’n’Wipe’. Having recently made a significant commitment to manufacturing in Australia at their ‘Villawood’ site, Colgate now operates their plant for 16 hours a day 5 days a week producing liquid detergents.

With such a demanding operation, Colgate required a flawless warehouse operation, with goods being stored correctly and easily accessible within the site location. Colagte therefore appointed APC to ensure its efficiency. APC worked with Colgate to find the ideal solution that would have the greatest benefit to them within the Villawood warehouse conditions and guarantee a quick return on Colgate’s investment.

After various consultations APC supplied and installed mechanically assisted Ezi-Drive Aisle Savers. Each unit was customised to meet the industrial application, adopting a steel track and rubber bead dust covers, to increase the units durability within the harsher conditions and to ensure product being stored remained dirt and dust free. APC also installed a chequer plate floor within the unit as no wood was permitted within the warehouse and the plate design offered a heavier duty system, that further increased the units durability and allowed for ease of the systems maintenance.

By the end of the project APC supplied and installed over 54 bays of customised Ezi-Drive Aisle Savers, that safely housed Colgate’s product labels within their Villawood facility. On completion of the project the system APC delivered dramatically increased product holdings and running efficiency for Colgate. A positive investment that was made possible due to the knowledge and experience of APC and its people.
