APC Case Study- Ezi-Drive Aislesaver

Colgate is a truly global business serving millions of consumers worldwide. With the brands 200-year history, Colgate is amongst the world’s most recognised household names. In Australia, Colgate is a leader in the development and manufacturing of brands such as ‘Cuddly’, ‘Dynamo’ and ‘Spray ’n Wipe’. Colgate have recently made a significant commit-ment to manufacturing in Australia and now operate their Villawood plant for 16 hours a day, 5 days a week, producing liquid detergents.

With such a demanding operation Colgate required a flawless warehouse process with space optimisation and product accessabil-ity essential. APC worked with Colgate to find the ideal solution that would have the greatest benefit to the Villawood warehouse.

APC supplied and installed mechani-cally assisted Ezi-Drive Aislesavers. Each unit was customised to meet the industrial application it was required for. This meant adapting a steel track and rubber bead dust covers to increase the units durability and to ensure the stored products remain dirt and dust free. APC also installed a chequer plate floor within the unit as no wood was permitted in the warehouse. The chequer plate floor also offered a heavy duty flooring platform that further increased the units durability and allowed for ease of the systems maintenance.

In total over 54 bays of customised Ezi-Drive Aislesavers were supplied and installed. The new system dramatically increased Colgates product holding capacity and running efficiency. A positive investment that was made possible due to the knowledge and experience of APC and its people.
