Cold Water Meters

C700 Positive Displacement Meter 120°F - 150 PSI

Application: Monitoring of low flow cold water for batch or continuous process, i.e. physical plant maintenance, water conditioning,mixing, cooling and de-ionized water(polymer meter only).

Sizes: 5/8" x 1/2" through 3/4" x 3/4"polymer (TP), 5/8" x 1/2" through 1" in bronze (BP), 1-1/2"- 2" in bronze (TP).

Description: The C700 TP/BP meteris a volumetric type meter operating on the oscillating piston principle. The piston movement istransferred to a register or pulser assembly by magnetic coupling.

Construction: The C700 consists of a main case of bronze/polymer, ahigh grade thermoplastic oscillating piston, graphite impregnated thermo-plastic measuring chamber, strainer,removable top or bottom plate, O-ringand a magnetically driven register orpulser assembly.

Installation: Meter may be installed in horizontal or inclined lines.

Register: The register is permanentlyand hermetically sealed eliminating reg-ister fogging or condensation. The leakdetector is fixed to the center spindle,turning in direct proportion to pistonoscillations in the measuring chamber.The register can be positioned at any of 360˚ for easy readability.Calibrations - USG, Cu. Ft. or M3.

T3000 Class II Turbine Meter 120°F - 150 PSI

Application: Monitoring of large flowcold water for batch or continuousprocesses, i.e. physical plant mainte-nance, submetering, processing and de-ionized water.

Sizes: 1-1/2" through 8" bronze and 1-1/2" through 12" cast iron.

Description: The T3000 Turbine is ahelical vane inferential meter. The waterpasses through the meter without achange in flow direction, driving a helix

rotor in direct proportion to the veloci-ty of water passing through the meter.The rotor revolutions are transferred toa register or pulser assembly by appro-priate reduction gearing and a magneticdrive assembly.

Construction: The meter consists of amain case, a measuring element, a topcover plate, neoprene O-ring and amagnetically driven register or pulser.

Application: Monitoring of largeflows of cold water for direct read,remote totalization, batches, continuous processes for rate of flowand bi-directional flows, i.e. physical plant maintenance.

Sizes: 11/2"- 2"- 3"- 4"- 6"- 8"- 10"- 12".

Description: The H4000 is an inferential meter with a rotor that measures the water through the meteraccurately in either direction, drivingthe rotor in direct proportion to thevelocity of the water passing through the meter.

The rotor revolutions are transferred to a register or register pulser assemblyby a magnetic drive assembly. Note: theregister will indicate a differential totalwhen flow is run in both directions or will accumulate total flow in onedirection only.

Cold Water Meters

Application: Monitoring of large flowsof cold water, in-plant applications fordirty water, standard agriculture, riverand lake pumping applications as wellas normal irrigation applications forwater resource management.

Sizes: 2"- 3"- 4"- 6"- 8"- 10".

Description: The R1000 is an inferential meter, which measures the water passing through the meteraccurately, driving the vertical measur-ing element in direct proportion to the

velocity of the water passing throughthe meter. The rotor revolutions aretransferred to a register or register/pulser assembly by a magneticdrive. Note: The measuring element isvery unobtrusive.

Construction: The meter consists of a main case, vertical measuring element,a top cover and register housing withbrass lid, an O-ring and a magneticallydriven register or register with reedswitch or opto-electronic pulsers. Themain case is cast iron with raised faceflanges drilled to ANSI specifications.

R1000 Inferential120°F - 150 PSIMeter

Application: Monitoring high and low flows of cold water for continuous processes, i.e. physical plant maintenance and submetering.

Sizes: 2", 3", 4", 6", and 8".

Description: The C3000 CompoundMeter combines the inferential T3000meter for high flow and the positive displacement C700 for low flow with

a change-over valve that operates ondifferential pressure. This unit isdesigned for installation where largevariation in flow rate can be expected.

Construction: The bronze main case has a T3000 measuring element,change-over valve, rubber O-ring, main case covers, sealed register can and polymer register housing. The bronze by-pass has a measuringchamber, rubber O-ring, polymer bottom plate, sealed register can and polymer register housing.

C3000 Compound Meter120°F - 150 PSI

Application: For use with potable coldwater through gray water–no sludge.Improved accuracy in batching processesrequiring accurate high and very lowflows, plant maintenance, and ground,well or river water. The advanced powermanagement feature of this meter facili-tates the battery power version suitablefor remote locations without access toAC power. Data logging is available asan option–AquaMaster S.

Sizes: 5/8"- 24"

Description: The AquaMaster is an electronic water meter operating on Faraday’s principle of induction. A conductive fluid (potable water) moving through a magnetic field generated in the flow tube will induce a current proportional to the rate offlow of the fluid. The meter measuresthe current induced between the stainless steel electrodes and calculatesthe flow rate of the fluid from thesemeasurements. Volume is then inferredfrom the flow rate.

Installation: The meter may beinstalled in any desired installation configuration. The meter must have afull pipe of water and as in most meterinstallations have 10 pipe diameters ofstraight pipe the same size as the meterahead of the meter and 5 pipe diametersbehind.

Register: The standard register is adry-dial type counter magnetically driven. The transparent plastic register is condensation-free and dust proof. The brass register housing is rugged and can be secured with a padlock.

Pulsers: The reed switch pulser is adry contact reed switch rated at 10watts. Contact rating 24VDC 100mAwith suitable spark-suppression.

Display: The display is an optionallyintegral or remote mounted unit with a photo luminescent screen showing rateof flow; totals-forward, reverse and net;date-time group, and operation alarms.Flow units may be configured for USG,Cu Ft, M3, L, or Imperial Gallons.

Pulse Output: The display generatestwo pulse outputs, one for forward andone for reverse flows or one for flow and one for direction. Select from recommended pulse rates or configureto user specifications.Isolation: +/-35VDC 50mAMaximum pulse frequency is 50Hz.Wiring Diagrams for AMCO electronics are available upon request.

Installation: The meter may beinstalled horizontally or vertically, provided a full pipe of water remians in the meter at all times. Five pipediameters in front of and two behindthe meter will reduce the effects of turbulence to allow the meter tofunction within stated accuracy standards. The absense of a mechanicalmeasuring element means the meter is ideal for ground water applicationsthat contain some debris in the line.

Hot Water Meters

Application: Monitoring of low flow hot water for batch or continuousprocesses, i.e. physical plant mainte-nance, condensate return, and sub-metering.

Sizes: 3/4" - 1" - 11/2" NPT inlet andoutlet.

Description: The 3/4" hot watermeter is a single jet inferential impellermeter. The 1" and 11/2" hot watermeters are multi-jet inferential impellermeters. All sizes accurately transfer the velocity of the flow by magneticcoupling to the totalizing register or register/pulser assembly.

Construction: The metes consist of a bronze main case, strainer, high temperature plastic measuring chamber,impeller, removable top plate, O-ring

Description: The M190 is a multi-jetinferential impeller meter. The impellerand magnet are the only moving parts

in the measuring chamber. Impellermovement is transferred by a magneticcoupling to the register or pulser assembly.

Construction: The meter consists of the main case, strainer, measuringchamber, impeller, removable top platewith O-ring and a magnetically drivenregister or pulser assembly with securingring. The body is cast bronze with abronze register securing ring.

Application: Monitoring of high flowhot water for batch or continuousprocesses, i.e. physical plant mainte-nance, condensate return, submeteringapartments, condominiums, and officecomplexes.

Description: The H4300 is aWoltman horizontal impeller (inferential) meter. The impeller movement is transferred by a magnetic

coupling to an evacuated and hermeti-cally sealed register or register pulser.

Construction: The meter consists ofthe main case, a measuring chamber, an impeller, a removable top plate andO-ring with a magnetically driven register or pulser and polymer register or pulser housing.

Register: The register is a dust andmoisture evacuated and hermeticallysealed unit. To eliminate condensation

Chemical Meters

316 Stainless Steel Turbine Application: The 316 Stainless SteelTurbine meters address a wide range of industrial and commercial fluid measuring applications. Please refer toour comprehensive list of chemicals for use with the 316 SS Turbinemeters. These meters can be fitted with pulse output, 4-20 mA output,external power module or standardremote kit for applications for use withremote counters, batch controllers, ratetransmitters, direct to chart recorders or computers. The standard remote kitallows the meter to be used in hightemperature applications up to 250˚F.

Sizes: 1/2"- 3/4"- 1"- 11/2"- 2".

Description: These 316 SS Turbinemeters are inferential in design. Thefluid passes through the meter withoutchange in direction and drives the rotorin direct proportion to the quantity ofthe fluid passing through the meter.Rotor revolutions are transferred to the electronic register by magnetic activation of a pick-off coil. The registerindicates total and rate of flow and isnormally battery powered.

Construction: The meters containonly one moving part (rotor) and aregenerally trouble free. The body andretaining rings are 316 Stainless Steel,other wetted parts are tungsten carbide(shaft), PVDF i.e. Kynar (rotor and supports) and ceramic (bearings). Themeter is fitted with an electronic registerwith a plastic housing rated NEMA 4.

316 Stainless SteelPositive Displacement

Application: Monitoring flows ofchemicals for industrial, pharmaceuticalor media of a viscous nature for total-ization batch control and rate of flow.

Sizes: 1/2"- 3/4"- 1"- 11/2"- 2".

Description: 316 Stainless Steel PDmeters are positive displacement, oscillating piston, volumetric type. The piston movement is transferred to the register or register/pulser via a magnetic coupling. The meter is available in various material combina-tions appropriate to specific applicationrequirements.

Construction: The 316 P.D. meterhas a machined 316 SS body, workingchamber and inlet and outlet sectionwith a SS safety strainer in the inlet.The working chamber as well as theinlet and outlet section are O-ringedsealed. The meter can be fitted with aTeflon, graphite, stainless steel, or hardrubber piston and is magnetically con-nected to the register assembly with aRyton housing. Either Teflon or FPMO-rings are available.

Register: The register is a direct read7 digit (1/2 - 1") or 6 digit (11/2 - 2").Each register face features a 1:1 pistonratio low-flow indicator to detectplumbing leaks.

Register: These meters are preparedwith computer electronics that providea microprocessor-based LCD readoutwith large (3/8"), six digit display indicating both total and rate of flow.Note: the meter can easily be field calibrated.

Option: These 316 turbine meters canbe provided with a number of options,pulse output module, 4-20 mA outputmodule, external power module andstandard remote kit.

Installation: The meter must beinstalled in a clean pipeline, free fromany foreign materials. Install the meterwith the direction of flow as indicatedby the arrow cast in the case. The meter can be installed in any position,horizontal, inclined or vertical. Themeter must have 10 pipe diameters of straight pipe the same size as themeter ahead of the meter and 5 pipediameters behind. Appropriate strainerto be located ahead of the 10 pipediameters. It is recommended that theuser perform a field calibration of thesemeters to insure accurate measurementfor specific applications.

Pulsers: These meters may be fittedwith either of two pulsers. The ReedSwitch pulser is a 2 wire, max voltage 48 VDC/VAC, max current 50 mA. The reed switch is rated at 3 watts andhas 47 ohms resistance in series. Ontime 50+/- 10% with 9 feet of cable.This pulser is not polarity sensitive (+/-).

The inductive pulser is a 2-wire, inductive device which requires 5 - 15 VDC, switch current: 1 mA(open), 4 mA (closed) @ 8 VDC. On time 50±10%. This unit is polaritysensitive (+/-) and no cable is supplied.

Installation: The user has the optionof mounting these meters horizontally,vertically or any plane in between. To assist reading at whatever angle themeter is mounted, the register dial maybe rotated a full 360˚ (except on ReedSwitch pulser models).

Oil Meters

Application: Measuring light heatingoil consumption in burners for heatingunits and industrial furnaces, fuel consumption in land-based or sea-based diesel and gasoline enginesincluding emergency generators, as well as industrial batch or rate of flow applications for process control. These meters may also be used in gasoline applications.

Description: The 1/8" AMCO 4 and 1/4" AMCO 8 meters are positivedisplacement type meters. The high precision oscillating piston displaces a known volume of fluid with eachoscillation. The movement of the pistonis transferred by a magnetic drive to atotalizing register or register with pulseoutput. Construction: These meters consist of a cast bronze main case, bronzeworking chamber with anodized aluminum piston, filter, bronze topplate with O-ring and a totalizing register, with oil resistant plastic housing, or register with pulse output.

Register: The register is a roller typetotalizing counter magnetically driven,reading in USG or M3. The registerhousing is an oil-resistant plastic with a clear lens.

Note: The safety strainer in the meteris not to be used as primary strainer tostrain the media but as a back-up orsafety strainer.

Pulsers: The pulser is a dry contactreed switch rated at 3 watts with MaxVoltage 48VDC/VAC, Max Current50mA with 47 ohms resistance in series. On time 50±20%, not polaritysensitive. No cable supplied.

Installation: The user has the optionof mounting these meters horizontally,vertically or any plane in between. We suggest the use of an appropriatestrainer ahead of the meter to protectthe meter from foreign materials.

Application: Monitoring flows of oil (#2 through #6 on 3/4" or largersizes) for batch or continuous process, i.e. burners, additives and furnace fuel consumption.

Sizes: 1/2" - 3/4" - 1" - 11/2" - 2"

Description: AMCO Oil Meters are positive displacement meters for use with #2 - #6 fuel oils and other viscous fluids. Temperatures to 266˚Fand 225 PSI for 1/2" - 3/4" - 1" and266˚F and 150 PSI for 11/2" - 2".These meters are built to withstand wear and corrosion. However, consistent with normal metering practices installation into high vibration areas may cause incorrect contact closures from the pulse units.

Construction: AMCO Oil Metershave a machined cast bronze body/working chamber with a machined cast bronze inlet and outlet section and a safety strainer in the inlet. The working chamber, inlet and outlet section are O-ring sealed. Ananodized aluminum piston is connectedmagnetically by a transfer device to the register assembly with Ryton housing.

Register: The register is direct read 7 digits for the 1/2" - 3/4"- 1" and 6digits for the 11/2" - 2" models. Eachregister face features a 1:1 piston ratiolow-flow indicator to detect piping orother leaks. Calibrations in USG or M3.To assist the reader the register dial maybe rotated a full 360˚ (except on reedswitch units).

Pulsers: AMCO Oil Meters may be fitted with either of two pulsers. A dry contact reed switch, 2-wire, Max Voltage 48VDC/VAC, MaxCurrent 50mA, the reed switch is ratedat 3 watts and has 47 ohms resistance in series. On time 50±10% with 9 feet(3m) cable. This pulser is not polarity sensitive (+/-).

The Inductive Pulser is a 2-wire, induc-tive device which requires 5-15VDC,switch current: 1mA (open), 4mA(closed) @ 8VDC. On time 50±10%.This unit is polarity sensitive (+/-). No cable is supplied.

Installation: The user has the optionof mounting these meters horizontally,vertically or any plane in between. Toassist the reader at whatever angle themeter is mounted, the register may berotated 360˚ (except on the reed switchunits).

Electronics

Description: The EBC2C can be programmed for either a single levelpreset or dual level preset for dual stage or trickle feed batch control. The unit accepts low or high speedcontact closures and activates a form-Crelay upon reaching each of the countpresets. Programmable for manual orautomatic operation.

EBC2C Electronic Batch Controller

Description: The R10 is an economical up-counting totalizer and a 1/Tau rate meter. This unit has an 8 digit LCD display with 0.43" tallcharacters. Separately programmablecount/rate scalers and decimal pointsallows for display of Rate and Count in various engineering units. Note: This unit must receive a pulse within10 seconds or the rate display will show zero.

Specifications:Input B (low speed): Contact closure, speed 0-100 Hz.Input A (high speed): Solid State sourcing/sinking, speed 0-10 kHz.Power: Internal battery - 3V Lithium - life 5 years. Max. Rec. Wire Length: 25 feet, 20 GA twisted pair.Recommended Power Supply for “SF” & “HRP” Pulsers: 12VDC Power Supply

R10 Rate Indicator Totalizer

Description: Designed to operatewith any AMCO meter with pulser. R420 provides rate indication, totaliza-tion, and 4-20 mA DC analog outputsignal proportional to flow rate.

Specifications:Input: Any AMCO flow meter with pulser or other pulser device. Internal5.8K OHM pull-up resistor to 5 VDC.Input frequency to 7500 HZ maximum.

Output: 4-20 mA. Loop power isobtained from internal 24 VDC supply or external power supply.

Power Supply: 115 VAC (R-420 outputs24 VDC at 100 mA max.).

R420 Rate IndicatorTransmitter Totalizer

Description: The Electronic Register(ER) is an LCD display which has beeninstalled in an aluminum, watertighthousing easily adapted for installationon AMCO C700, T3000 and H4000cold water meters.

The ER is designed to replace mechanical registers with LCD displaysof rate indication and totalization in the basic unit.

External Power Input Option: Voltage - 8.5 to 30 VDC
