    STURGIS RALLY

We want to extend our sincere

thanks to Kerry & Pam (from

IOWA, I believe) for helping our

friend at the Sturgis Rally. They

spent time visiting with my hus

band & I, while our friend was

attended to in the Sturgis Hospital

    for heat exhaustion and vertigo.

They arranged alternate transportation to Keystone for her, as

she was unable to ride with her

husband. We appreciate all they did

thank you so much. Words are not

    enough.

In this season of gratitude and abun-

dance, we give you thanks for our

many blessings as we pray for all who

struggle with hunger and want. Be with them in the dark of night,

when all hope seems lost. Keep their faith strong as they await relief. And let Your goodness flow through our hearts and hands as we reach

out to one another in the full, true joy of Thanksgiving in Christ. Amen.

hank you, our CMA family, for allowing God to

use you through Run forthe Son. I realize that wereally will never know thetrue impact of our effortsthis side of heaven, but wereally are changing theworld, one heart at a time.

Through your efforts this year, wewere able to give $788,070.90 to eachof our ministry partners. As part ofreceiving this money, each of our partners submits to us a budget for howthe money will be spent and theimpact they expect to have from it. Iwould like to take time to share withyou one element of what our Run forthe Son money will be accomplishingthis year and for the next ten years.

The JESUS Film Project has asked

CMA if we would be part of a groupcalled, The Finishers, which is a teamof people that The JESUS Film Project

has assembled to finish the translationof the JESUS film into the remaining865 languages. The schedule is to complete all translations of the JESUS filmas originally established within thenext ten years. CMAs commitment tothis team is to provide $100,000 a yearthrough Run for the Son, totaling $1million in ten years. CMA, along witheleven other people, will raise a totalof $16 million over the next ten years

that will be used in matching funds tocomplete the translation of theremaining 865 languages.

The original JESUS film wasreleased in 1979 with a goal to translate the film into all of the known heartlanguages of the world and now, weget to be part of seeing this task completed in the next ten years. Only Godcould have known what He would dowith a group of bikers called CMA.Taking the Gospel to those who havenever heard it is our greatest privilege. To think that we could have a part, over the next few years, of reaching

out to those people groups who haveno knowledge of our Savior excites me.

This is just a small look at theimpact that we as a ministry workingtoward a common goal are having inthis world for the Kingdom of Heaven. All of this is made possible throughyou, your chapter, and your statesefforts in Run for the Son. Thank youfor being committed to the call of Godin this area to work on changing the

world, one heart at a time. CMA

    Evangelist Article

ome years back I had the oppor

    tunity to learn a great

    Christian life lesson that has

stuck with me ever since. While this

is not the only lesson Ive learned

over the years, it is one that I consid

er one of the most valuable.

Like many of lifes lessons, this

one didnt start out with me being

the happiest person. It all began

when Lisa called me at work to let

me know that she had gotten a callfrom a CMA member who had a

problem that he was handing over to

us to handle. The problem was that

he had made a commitment to help

out at a secular rally and to provide a

Sunday morning service and now he

was not going to be there.

I had recently been appointed as

the GA State Coordinator and the

member was passing along the prob

lem to me. Of course I was a little

aggravated and why shouldnt I be?Here was an event that I was totally

unaware of and now I was being

handed over the responsibility as the

state leader to make sure CMA hon

ored a commitment made by another

    CMA member. It probably wouldnt

have bothered me nearly as much if

we hadnt gotten the call around

lunchtime on the day the event was

    to start.

    With Lisas encouragement and

help from the Holy Spirit, the deci

sion was made that we would go and

honor this commitment, after all it

was only 100 or so miles away!! I

called the CMA member to find out

all the particulars on the rally and

any promises that were made. I did a

good job not letting the guy know

how frustrated I was, or at least I

hope I did. Lisa called another CMA

couple we were close to and asked

them if they would like to go and

help and they said they would. The

plans were in place; it would be aquick pack and head out as soon as

    everyone got home from work.

We arrived at the rally, paid our

    registration, and offered our help.

There was another CMA couple who

    would be there through Saturday

night and between the six of us we

helped out at registration, picked up

    trash, cleaned portapotties, worked

the gate and manned the CMA booth

with coffee and water, things we as

CMAers do. We were able to developrelationships with people we had

never met. We even participated in

the bike games and took home no

    trophies whatsoever. Overall, the

    rally was going real well.

    On Sunday morning only eight

people showed up for the service,

and that was including us four CMA

    members. We didnt have any

singing or music and we had to stand

    around because there were no

chairs, benches, or stumps. I gave a

brief message and asked for commit

ments and the four hands of our

guests went up. Two folks gave their

lives to Jesus for the very first time

that morning and two others wanted

to get their lives back on track and

    put Jesus first, PTL!!

So, I learned a valuable lesson

(maybe more than one) that week

end. From my initial exasperation to

total exhilaration I learned that God

will use you if you will just show up!

You may not think you have the time, the money or the energy, go anyway!

You may think that you are not ready

or that you are the only one that ever

goes, go anyway! You could even be

    aggravated because someone or

    something didnt go according to

your plans, go anyway! I promise you

this; if you go and let God work you

will be blessed. Go anyway, I dare

    you!! CMA

    Evangelist Article

    hroughout the Old Testament we

see the people of Israel getting

into trouble for all kinds of issues.

They seem to find it hard to keep focus

on what is important. Their desires and

wants get in the way. They mask their

own insecurities as slaves by demanding

things that they are use to, something

familiar to them. They get in a bind and

God bails them out, soon afterward they

arent happy and go back to doing their

own thing. I believe that we suffer fromsome of the same things. God frees us

from slavery from a dangerous spot in

our life and we follow him. Soon after

ward we start to get close to the thing

that we were delivered from, back to

    something familiar. Some have been

    delivered from controlling substances,

debt, unforgiveness, and anger just to

    name a few.

After awhile we find ourselves back in

the same mess or close to it. Why is that?

Is it because we have more faith in ourability to control it, than we have in God?

I believe we enjoy some pet things and

we like to keep them around, but we can

not. We cannot control it, for if we could,

we would have never needed God to help

us in the first place. He is our deliverer

because we needed one. Our minds drag

us away because they have not been

renewed by the reading of His Word. I

find myself in this place. I read my Bible

often, sometimes three times a day, but I

also get drawn away by my own desires

and miss a day here or there. The issue isthat sometimes I am putting more of the

world in than the Word in. My mind then

becomes fixed on the world. That works

out to be a problem and if not fixed,

starts a trail back to the old man, leaving

the new man weak and defenseless.

The Lord is our strength, He was

Israels strength too as they sought after

Him, but when they turned to other

things, He allowed the world to get their

attention. So it seems that brings us to

the New Testament with: If you abide in

Me, I will abide in you. So it stands then

that He is our strength when we abide in

Him. How do we accomplish this?

Through the reading of His Word, taking

it to heart, and applying it to us, both in

strength and correction. Also we abide

in Him through our prayer lives, which

should really be a praise life that turns to

    prayer.

We are to be a thankful people to God

and praise Him for who He is and the

good things He has done. Our focus is tobe on the good in our life with a thankful

heart, not on whats wrong with it. Our

dependence is in Him and our hearts to

Him. That is what pleases God: a thankful

heart and hope placed in Him, a belief

that God will do what He said. Read

    Psalms 78:21, 22 and Psalm 147:11 and

you will see all the wrong Israel did boils

    down to two things.

    They did not trust

    God to take care of

them and they didnot believe His

    promises.

    Today where do

    you find yourself:

    full of faith and

    hope or wavering?

    Today is the day to

    stop and take time

    to pray to God, con

    fess your fears and

    failures to Him, and

    also confess how

great He is. He isthe author and fin

    isher of our faith.

    He is our great shel

    ter and a shield

    around us. He is

    mighty God, deliv

    erer of His people.

    His love knows no

    ends and He is the

    great King of kings

    and Lord of lords.

    He knew me before

I was formed and He loved me. He has

plans for good and not for harm, plans

for a hope for the future. He is Jesus my

redeemer and He lives and reigns. My

hope is in Him for He is trustworthy.

ut down your beer, take off

    your hat.....the Christians are

gonna pray over in that cor

ner yelled the DJ over the micro

phone. I could hardly believe it...there

we were at a bar in Little Washingtonwith about 150200 1%ers and they

were waiting for us to pray. What was

    God up to?!!

It started that summer when a

CMA friend of ours, (Sam C.), was at

an event just making friends and

    starting up conversations waiting to

see when and if he might get the

    opportunity to share about Jesus.

Things were going pretty well. A sea

    soned black biker with impressive

colors struck up a conversation with

him and they hit it off. Sam (a boldman of God) got around to asking if he

could pray for (bless) this fellow's

bike. The biker communities that may

not even believe in a God still feel bet

ter if they have a prayer said over

their bike at the beginning of bike sea

son. Through that opening we some

times get to pray for them and their

    families....for whatever may be on

their hearts that day and, as always,

pray for God to bless them and draw

them closer to Him. This fellow wasagreeable and when Sam prayed, it

touched the heart of God. This man

    was truly blessed.

It turned out that he was a national

leader with this particular group and

that his wife was going through a very

difficult time with her health. He men

tioned that there would be a fundrais

er in Little Washington and asked if

Sam and some of his friends might

come down and pray for healing for

his wife. Because of his status, we

knew that it would be a huge rally.

Keith and I are CMA members from

Ohio who happened to ride with the

Pittsburgh group at times and had

become friends with Sam and his

lovely wife, Peg. They were such ablessing and actually mentors for us

as we were pretty new to the situa

tion at that time. Sam called us and a

few others to ride down to this event

with him and we were excited to go.

We had never done that sort of out

reach and particularly in the black

    biker community. These were mostly

outlaw gangs and even though we had

seen and had ridden with some, we

hadn't had the opportunity to minis

ter there yet. Evidently Sam saw that

we were prayers and could handleourselves without getting too radical

(because the last thing you need in

that situation is drama) so we went.

When we got there, bikes were

parked all over the place. It was the

largest group of black bandit bikers

that I had ever seen. We were about

the only white people there and there

were only a handful of us. We paid our

entrance fee to support the cause and

got our Pepsi and set out to mingle. I

got to meet some really great womenand was privileged to pray with a cou

ple of them for their children....but

mostly we chatted. Dance music was

being played so we took a trip around

the dance floor. After about an

    hour....everything stopped. It became

    extremely quiet.

The DJ cut off the music and yelled

out, Hey you guys, take off your hats,

    put down your beers....the Christians

are going to pray over in that corner.

You all know they came to pray for

but if anyone else needs prayer they

are willing to pray for you too.

WOW, what an opening. We joined

with Sam, Peg and the other CMAers

as the chapter Chaplain led prayer

you could hear a pin drop. The anointing of God was displayed in that bar

    for the next 10 minutes.

After the prayer was finished, the

DJ cranked up the music and the hats

and the beers were picked back up

and things seemed to get back to nor

mal. But you know what, God was

    seen.

That is what it is all aboutletting

God be seen. I believe the impact of

that day and of that prayer will filter

throughout eternity and I will tell you

now that I can hardly wait to see theresults once we get to heaven. These

men and women were touched. After

the prayer some of them really avoid

ed us and some really sought us out.

Those that sought us out had ques

tions that, through the love of Jesus,

we were able to answer. A few gave

their hearts to the Lord that night and

I am sure all were brought a little clos

er to a decision for the Kingdom of

    God.

Friends have asked, were youafraid. No, not really....there was a

peace that was extremely difficult to

explain. Since then I have experienced

that Peace more than a few times. You

see, if we are doing what God has put

on our hearts to do...He is there. As we

love on Him, He will not only set up

the circumstances, but then He equips

us and lets us have the victory. What a

    God we serve! CMA

n the first few chapters of the book

of Acts we read the story of the

beginning of the church. We read

how Jesus ascended into heaven and

how the Holy Spirit empowered the

first disciples praying in the upper

room to share the Good News about

    Jesus (Acts 1,2).

We also read about how thousands

were added to the number of believers

in Jesus in just one day. The first

church grew from 120 to 3,000 in oneday and it just kept going from there.

As their numbers grew the needs of

the people became more than the orig

    inal twelve disciples (minus Judas,

    plus his replacement Matthias) could

handle. The disciples decided to find

some help and they located seven men

who could assist with all their duties.

The first man mentioned in the

Bible in Acts 6 is Stephen and how he

is described is worthy of notice. The

Scripture says, Stephen was a man fullof faith and the Holy Spirit (Acts 6:5a

NLT). From what we read about

Stephen (Acts 69), he was filled with a

strong faith in God. What a great selfie!

A quick snapshot of the man Stephen

was that he was filled up with faith in

God. What an amazing description and

what a goal for us to strive for in our

    own lives.

Faith is complete trust or confi

dence in someone or something. We all

have faith. We show faith in our cars,

faith in our athletic skills and faith in

our friends. But what we are talking

about is faith in Almighty God. In this

sense, faith is a simple strong belief

based on trust and conviction rather

than physical and tangible proof. As a

follower of Christ, you cant even begin

with Christ without faith in Him, who

He is and what He does in our lives

(Ephesians 2:8,9). But even more than

just having faith that Jesus is yourSavior and that He forgives you of your

sins, becoming full of faith is important

in the life of a CMA Youth Movement

student. Being full of faith like Stephen

means your life is filled with complete

trust and confidence in Christ. It

means your day to day walk and talk is

chock full of faith and belief. It means

the people around you know what who

and what you believe in. When you are

full of faith, there isnt room for much

else.Being full of faith makes you a dif

ferent person in your world as a young

person. Most people only take hard

evidence or proven scientific facts as a

basis for living. When you are full of

faith, you are overflowing with belief

in a real God: though He is unseen, you

believe in His very real power and abil

ity to work in the lives of people. Other

teens might say, I dont believe

it...prove it, but when you are full of

faith you say, I believe in God, and He

can do anything. People around you

    might say, Thats impossible!, but

when you are full of faith in Christ you

repeat the words of Jesus from Luke

18:27 (NLT), What is impossible for

    people is possible with God.

As you work to improve letting

Christ be seen in your day to day life,

look to become full of faith. Aim to

have an outlook that believes instead

of doubts. Work hard to look up to Godand His awesome abilities instead of

down at your own weakness. This is

what it means to become full of faith.

Imagine your life as a tall glass. By

the empty tall glass is two large pitch

ers and both of them have a label. On

one pitcher the label reads, doubt, on

the other, belief. As you stand before

both pitchers you get to choose which

one you are going to pour into your

glass. In a very similar way you and I

have the choice to pour into our livesbelief or doubt, faith or fear. To

become full of faith, we make the deci

sion to believe in Christ, in who He is

and all He promises. If the CMA Youth

    Movement student you want to

become is full of faith, you want to

ome of us become so excited

about arriving at an event that we

    forget about ministry that could

happen on the way. Some of the most

    rewarding ministry weve experienced

    has occurred in restaurants, parking

    lots, and gas stations.

My husband and I have asked waitresses across the nation to join us in

prayer, if they have time. If the restau

rant is too busy, we let them know we

are including them in the prayer for

our meal. If they join us, then we ask if

they have any special prayer requests

and make sure we include their needs

in the prayer out loud right then.

    One woman was concerned about

her sick daughter and was really

touched that we took the time to pray

for her. She said no one really cared

about her family. She then volunteeredthat she used to go to church and she

    remembered that those people really

cared. She promised us that she would

go to church that Sunday and make

sure her kids went too. We did not

even have to suggest it to her. Isnt it

wonderful what the Holy Spirit can do?

I waved from the back on my hus

bands bike to a young kid on the back

of his fathers bike that was coming

toward us. I did not see his fathers

1%er patch until he went by. The

father glared at me. We then stopped

for gas. As we were filling up, the same

biker without the child came scream

ing by. He saw us but was going toofast to pull in. He came back. He said he

had seen a patch but could not tell

    which one it was.

As a woman, I kept very quiet out of

respect for his patch. My husband did

all of the talking. The biker wanted to

know who we were and what we were

doing in his town. Wayne explained we

were just passing through. I found it

    interesting that when my husband

gave his nickname, the biker knew

who we were. What we do does make

a difference and they are watching. My favorite thing is to ride, feel the

wind and smell nature as we enjoy the

rollercoaster effects of the hills. I forget

that there are people who have never

gotten to enjoy Gods creation in this

way. My husbands Goldwing has given

young physically limited children up to

    elderly grandmothers the chance to

experience the freedom of riding. Just

last month an elderly woman who had

lost her biker husband asked Wayne

for a ride. She knew she could trust us

because we are Christians and this

opened the door to visit with her about

    our Lord Jesus.

Another way to minister is to makethe service attendant smile before you

leave a store or gas station. When you

walk away the last thing they see is

your CMA back patch. What impres

sion do you want to leave behind?

Remember, all the people who see

your back patch are looking to see if

you are really a Christian. They expect

you to act at a higher level of morality

than they are. If you cuss, or spit on the

sidewalk or are not respectful of oth

ers, then they think you are just anoth

er hypocrite. They do not need anotherexcuse to stay away from the church so

make sure that you are not one.

I want the attendant to say Wow,

what a nice lady. Oh, she is a Christian

    Motorcyclists Association member.

    Christians must really exist. CMA

o there I was pulling out of Sonicone Sunday evening. After 8 pmSonic has price shakes and Im

pretty much addicted to Peanut ButterFudge shakes

As we drove off God put a definitethought in my mind. If Sonic wouldagree to charge CMA members regularprice and donate the extra half back toRFS we could raise money and enjoygood shakes. Think about it this way;how cool would it be to drink a milkshake and spread the Gospel?

My next thought was "too bad thatwould never happen with Sonic! And Idismissed it.

Then sitting at work a couple of dayslater I couldn't quit thinking "Whatif....?" What if they would? What if westarted a Sonic Bike Nite after our Bible

Study the 3rd Monday of every month? The more I thought about it the more Iliked it. But Sonic would never do that, Ithought.

God however just wouldnt let megive up. Knowing that He wants to useCMA Members and Chapters to supportHis work around the world, I looked upthe number to the Sonic closest towhere our chapter meets.

Sitting there, staring at that number,I kept thinking he is probably going tosay no, they can't do that. But then I

thought hey you only need 20 secondsof courage to dial the number and starttalking.

I whispered a prayer and musteredup the "20 seconds of courage" anddialed the number.

Hi, my name is Tammy, may I speakto the manager?

This is Tim, I am the manager.Does your Sonic do a Bike Nite? No, we don't, but I love the idea. I

just didn't know who to contact, or how

to get one started.Wonderful, well I am a biker and I

ride with the CMA chapter out ofHillsboro, the Salvation Riders. Wemight be able to help you start a BikeNite if you are interested in participating in a fundraiser we do.

We have only done 1 fundraiser inthe past and I had to get that approvedby my boss but I would like to hear youridea.

I explained how we usually go toanother food and Ice Cream place afterour Monday night Bible study but if hewould partner with us in the fundraiserwe could perhaps move to Sonic andhelp him start a Bike Nite.

I shared my milkshake idea withhim and suggested that CMA memberscould simply tell

the employees tocharge them fullprice for theshakes. When weget our receiptswe would writeCMA across thetop and turnthem in beforewe left.

He said theycould build us aCMA Drop Box

then they wouldn't get lost ormixed up withother receipts. He said that he himselfwould handle it and if we would workwith them for a little while he was allfor the idea. But he would still have toget his bosses to approve.

He also asked me for information onRun for the Son which I gladly provided.

I kept thinking we would run intosome snag but God kept reminding me

that it only took 20 seconds of courageto shoot the arrow, He would do therest.

Tim, the manager, called me the nextday to tell me it was approved. Mac,Robert and I met with Tim the nextSaturday to work out the details. Whilethere we asked if we were limited to thefundraiser being on Bike Nite only orcould we do it any other night?

He said sure, why not, that wasmore business for him! The summershakes half price promotion runsthrough Oct. so the Fundraiser will runthrough Oct as well.

But it keeps getting better, we havehad two Bike Nites at the Sonic and I gotthis text from Tim, the manager, a fewdays ago.

    "Tammy, it would

take 67 mediumshakes in onemonth to reach$100.00. I added upthe receipts fromlast month and theycame in around$40.00. Called myboss and he said ifyou were ok with aflat donation of$100.00 per monthhe was as well. If

we get to where wethink we are eclipsing the 67 per

month we can make a new arrangement. How does that sound to you?"

Wow, what an awesome God weserve. All I can say is " that 20 seconds ofcourage paid off. Thank you Lord!" CMA

    RFS Network

Here are several RFS fund raising ideas from thegreat State of Arizona. Please remember that Stateor Chapter tshirts can only have printing on the

front. You can always get the CMA logo on the back if youwish.

We have three Arizona Statewide fundraisers going for

this next year that we believe will be substantial by way ofRun for the Son Funds raised and energizing CMA chaptersand members.

    (1) T-Shirts Two members of ourDesert Disciples Chapter, have designed ArizonaState CMA Tshirts. All proceeds will go to Run forthe Son. This has promoted a sense of unity for theevents we attend outside of Arizona, as well as ourown State events. This began in 2013 and will continue for 2014 funding.

    (2) Cookbook Three ladies from two chapters in AZ,have put together an AZ Statewide Cookbook with

prized recipes from members throughout the State. This is a fun idea as it gives members a look at whatother members from other chapters cook and givesa new dimension to names and faces throughout theState. Proceeds will all go to Run for the Son, credited to the chapters selling the cookbooks.

    (3) Ballgame Possibly ourmost significant StatewideRun for the Son Fundraiser will occur September28th of this year. A member from the New LifeChapter, is putting together a CMA day at the ballpark. He has contacted the Diamondbacks (our AZ

team) and arranged a CMA night. This is also a designated 'bike night' where the Diamondbacks provide free bike parking to promote/encourage bikersto visit the ballpark. Tickets are $20 and $6 of eachticket goes to Run for the Son. We receive two additional significant incentives if we sell 450 tickets.

    (A) We (CMA) will be highlighted during the pregame events with four of our members on thefield and a short intro on who we are.

    (B) We will be able to set up our CMA booth withtracts, water, and information about CMA onthe vendor concourse at the ball game. Runfor the Son proceeds will be divided amongthe chapters that sold tickets tofriends/neighbors/etc.

State leadership is promoting this event heavilybecause of the positive exposure to both the bikers and thecommunity so we fully anticipate selling the 450 tickets by

September.Note: Not everyone has a professional ball club in their

area but perhaps your town has a minor league, or someother sports activity where something similar could bedone.

Please remember that these tips are sent out to give youideas and to encourage you to consider your own possibilities. CMA

reetings to you all. Well, thingsare slowing down somewhat aswe go into November. We may

have some Bike Shows and Toy Runsstill to come, but all in all we had agreat year of ministry.

This month mission trip teams willbe going out tovarious parts ofthe world. Our

team will beheaded for SouthAfrica, includingMozambique andSwaziland. If youhave never beenon a mission trip,I encourage youto take a look atthe trips for 2014 and pray whereGod might want you to go. I alwaystold God there was no reason to go to

Africa. I guess He decided it was time. Now I look forward to it.Youll find the presentation of

motorcycles a very special time withthe pastors, as well as with the children and the people of the countryyou go to. I dont know anyone whofelt let down from a mission trip. Weeven know couples that havestretched out and gone back on theirown to do some great work. One couple went with us to Peru and nowevery time I receive an email from

them it seems they are going back orcoming home. This is very encouraging to see members using their gifts. Most of the members going on tripsalso get more involved in Run for theSon. They witness the impact we asCMA members have around theworld.

As I continue to think on theselines, it brings me to a celebration wehave this month called Thanksgiving. When we go into countries around

the world, we look at times at whatthey dont have. They dont have bigfancy homes, fine cars, and up to datefashions including man bags andpurses. We can find ourselves grieving for what they dont have. So

many of the countries we visited, I

find the peoplehave such a joyous spirit within

them and havewhat I think isvery little. Itmakes me thinkof what Paulwrote.Philippians 4:4(NKJV) Rejoicein the Lord

always. Again I will say, rejoice!Paul was in prison when he wrote

these words. Not like our prisons of

today, where they have cable TV andweight rooms. It was a damp dingydungeon. Im sure it didnt make youfeel much like home. Yet he saysRejoice in the Lord always. What am Itrying to say? Thankfulness is not anoutward feeling. It comes from whatsinside. Yes, I believe we need to thankGod for our families and friends. I alsoknow many people who have gone orare going through, what I call an

opportunity for growth, yet they arepraising the Lord. Thats where therubber hits the road.

As we sit down at the table thanking God for all we have, lets remember to prayerfully ask God what wecan do for those who dont have so wecan help make their days be a littlebetter. No matter what the circumstance, lets thrive for a thankful attitude.

    In His Service. CMA

    Evangelist Article

ow do you trace the death of a

    CMA chapter? It happens so

slowly, few are even aware of it.

At the beginning there will be a few

people in the chapter who don't like the

president or develop a personal grudge

    about something. That personal feeling

    somehow becomes allencompassing to

them. It controls their rational thinkingand makes them mean and vindictive.

Soon this hate becomes too great for

them to stand alone, so they spread

their negative feelings to others. Soon

the others spread these feelings, plus

some of their own. The phone lines are

    kept busy with rumors, innuendoes,

    and lies.

It is about this time satan really

moves in. He slowly, insidiously, takes

all the love out of their hearts. He

replaces it with revenge, hatred, and

emptiness. No longer do they come to

    chapter meetings to fellowship and

learn. They come to find fault and to

point fingers. They still attend chapter

meetings and probably some rides and

events too. But they only come to be

seen and to watch for something else

that displeases them. They have forgot

ten by this time how to serve and praise

God. A dying chapter will still have

many Christians who are faithful with

their serving, ministering, and attendance. But after a while, not only do

they feel weary from fighting the nega

tivism, they feel somehow as if they

must defend their actions. Any new

    programs or innovative ideas are

squelched and often die from lack of

    support. The naysayers always ques

tion change. They seem to be afraid to

    move into the present generation.

Young motorcyclists are not drawn to a

dying chapter because the future is not

there; the past is.After a few years of crippling along

in this dying mode, satan will take a

back seat for a while. His work is done.

The unrest and hate are firmly planted

right in the middle of the chapter. While

he sits back and relishes in the demise

of this chapter, the anger and bitterness

grow. These people are now focused on

something far away from servant hood.

They want to get their way. No prayer is

involved at this point, only personal

    choices. Members will begin leaving,

perhaps officers too. There will be

fewer and fewer events supported. The

financial giving may reach a crisis point

especially for Run for the Son. How sad

it is to watch a chapter in the dying

process. The meeting place is void of

    CMAers. Often, rides are canceled.

There is no longer fellowship after or

    before chapter meetings.

Can a chapter be saved when it

reaches this point? Only God can save a

chapter. But he must be allowed to bepresent. God must be the focus of all

things; then there is hope. God told us

where ever people are gathered in His

name, He will be there. Welcome Him

back into your hearts and into your

services. Focus once again on the only

reason for true worship and service,

God's salvation through his Son for

    each of us. CMA

    Death of a Chapter

    By RICK Steffy

Rick and Eileen Steffy oversee the NortheastRegion as National Evangelist.

    H

Greetings to you all. I pray your

year is going well as we reach out

to the world, one heart at a time.

This may seem early, yet I feel its

time we prepare our hearts for the

    election of new officers.

This is a reprint of an article I

ran before, but I also believe this is

something we need to keep in our

    forefront to keep our chapters

healthy. I pray you give this seriousthought. We pray for your chapters

    constantly. In His Service.

    n 2011, my husband Mike and I

were in a motorcycle accident. We

came around a blind curve and then

we saw it, a stop sign. The back wheel

locked when my husband applied the

brakes, and down we went. Both of us

were slammed down onto the pave

ment on our right side. We were bro

ken up pretty bad. After being in an

induced coma for several days, I hadsurgery on my upper right arm which

had splintered up and down the bone.

The doctors called it a green stick

break. The surgery went well, and I

had to have physical therapy for nine

months, to restore the use of my right

arm. Was it painful? Yes, but God was

    with me through it all!

During the recovery time after the

accident, I was finding out the details of

my condition. I was told by several pro

fessionals that my right arm would not

be the same as it was before the acci

dent. They would tell me that there will

probably be some limitation in my abil

ity of movement. I didnt like hearing

that at all. The word limitation was

very upsetting at first. When I got

home one day after hearing this opin

ion of these doctors and my therapist, I

had some alone time with God. I prayeddesperately for God to help me under

stand. It was that day that he showed

me that my limitations are not His,

and not to let my inadequacies or my

    limitations diminish my expectations

of Gods ability to work through me!

Wow! I had thought I failed God some

how, but now know that its not a fail

ure, its anything but. He wants to use

    these limitations to accomplish even

more. Because now when God uses me,

in spite of my limitiations, it will only

    serve to magnify the supernatural

power of God! So whenever you feel

that you are limited or inadequate,

dont let it limit what God wants to do

through you. Just listen, trust and obey

Him. God will be magnified! CMA
