A Note from Your Agent 4-H Recruiting Clover Corner Wow, the summer break is just about over and it’s back to school time already! I would like to thank youth and volunteers for your hard work, commitment and participation in practices, club con- gress, project achievement day, cook-out contests, horse shows, horse photography, shooting sports, Co-op tour, record books, State 4-H Ambassador - National Conference interviews, 1-day CAFB Stem Camp, sewing, cooking, and 4-H Fun Day. As the school year begins, continue to “Make the Best Better,” by staying involved in 4-H activities. I wish each of you a safe and great academic year! Yours in 4-H, Sharon S. Wow, the summer break is just about over and it’s back to school

time already! I would like to thank youth and volunteers for your

hard work, commitment and participation in practices, club con-

gress, project achievement day, cook-out contests, horse shows,

horse photography, shooting sports, Co-op tour, record books, State

4-H Ambassador - National Conference interviews, 1-day CAFB

The Lowndes County 4-H will have a meet-

ing for all 4-Her’s to participate in planning for

the upcoming program year. Looking forward to

seeing youth and volunteers on Thursday, August

Haileigh Brooks was selected as a delegate for the 2018 4-H National Conference trip for her record book. She was also selected to become a member of the State 4-H Ambassadors Team. Linda Ellis received a 2nd

place Blue ribbon for her volunteer record. Congratulations!

4-H Exhibit Day

The Lowndes County 4-H Exhibit Day will

be held at the 4-H Office. Check-in will be

Tuesday, August 28th from 3p.m.-

6:30p.m. Judging will be on Wednesday

morning. Exhibit pick-up will be Thursday,

August 30th from 3-5:00p.m. Exhibit Day

is limited to the members of the Lowndes

County 4-H Clubs. Premiums are as fol-

lows:

Blue Ribbons $2.00

Red Ribbons $1.00

We will use the items listed on the State

Fair list located on the 4-H website, or you

may pick up a hard copy at the 4-H Office

with exhibit tags and canning labels. If

you have any questions or need craft as-

sistance, please contact the office at 328-

2111.

4-Her’s who participated in PAD and

The North MS Volunteer Leaders Forum will be Satur-

day, August 11, 2018 at Mississippi State University

Bost Extension Conference Center. The forum will

begin at 9:30a.m. and end at 3p.m. This forum is for

adults only. Registration due by noon August 6th.

4-H Junior Council

The Lowndes County 4-H Junior Coun-

cil will meet and discuss the roles and

responsibilities of an officer. Looking

forward to seeing you on Thursday, Sep-

tember 6, 2018 from 5:30 - 6:30p.m. at the

4-H Office.

Standard of Excellence Award Application

There will be many awards available dur-

ing our annual 4-H recognition program.

So, please complete a Standard of Excel-

lence Award Application, which will be

available for pick-up at the 4-H Office on

September 14th. Please contact the office

if you would like a mailed or emailed copy.

If you have any questions concerning this

application, please contact the 4-H office

Volunteer Leader’s Training

There will be a 4-H Volunteer Leader’s Training on

Thursday, September 13th at the 4-H Office at

5:30p.m. Volunteers will be updated on new pro-

grams and discuss plans for the upcoming year. If you

by September 7, 2018.
