Clearvision overview
Clearvision Lighting has a 15-year pedigree in ergonomic and environmental lighting. We have been at the leading edge of the industry in adopting new technology and design techniques to improve workplaces and reduce energy consumption.
Our appreciation of daylight has been apparent from the beginning. One of our first innovations in ergonomics was Virtual Daylight® in 1997, which has since been copied by many other companies.
We focus on lens technologies (some patented) that are central to our most successful products. We find that they’re an effective means of optimising design between efficiency, glare control and useful light distribution.
Clearvision is a project lighting company with a focus on customer applications for our products. We therefore provide a full technical support service–including Dialux (plug-in available), AutoCAD, emergency test and control systems.
Please contact our technical department for design and product related questions and sales for project quotations. All queries can be addressed to [email protected] or on 01252 344011.

The Zenon
The Zenon is a slim line linear direct/indirect luminaire with a design
optimised around T5 lamps. The optics are Clearvision proprietary
HTX lenses, which provide good glare control, light transmission and
spread. The Zenon is suited to a variety of applications including
corridors and circulation space, some types of workspace, storage,
utility and amenity areas.
The spine of the Zenon is made from powder coated steel and
houses the electronic ballast and inverter (on the emergency
option). The design is deliberately minimalist with lens retention via
polypropylene shootbolts through holes in the steel end plate. The
Zenon combines good use of materials with simple form, inevitably
emitting a even distribution of light from ceiling to floor.

Environmental
The design of the Zenon has sought to produce a comfortable and
well performing luminaire with low embedded energy content. The
luminaire is offered with the most efficient T5 linear fluorescent lamps
available. The lens is constructed from PETG, a material with around
half the CO2 value of acrylic or polycarbonate, whilst its curved shape
allows the material thickness to be minimised.
Emergency lighting
As with most of the Clearvision range the Zenon is available with a
3 hour emergency option, which includes an integral inverter and
battery to keep one lamp illuminated in the event of a power failure.
The BLF (ballast lumen factor) of electronic gear in combination with
a 28W lamp is around 10% in emergency mode and therefore the
output is 260 lumens.

Maintenance
The Zenon is easy to maintain, because the lens hinges or clips out
on shootbolts providing easy access to the lamp or ballast, which is
accessible behind the removable reflector.
Having an easily detachable lens aids cleaning and future
replacement of the lens and other parts at normal end of life. The
Zenon has been designed in such a way as to minimise future waste
flows.
Z-WAY
Applying the right controls to lighting within non-occupied areas can
provide significant reduction to a building’s energy usage. Conceived
specifically for use in corridors, records/filing and storage or other
unoccupied spaces, Zenon luminaires equipped with Z-Way control
offer a elegant solution for energy saving.
Traditionally control in these spaces consist of motion sensors
switching lights on and off. However, as well as plunging areas
abruptly into darkness, frequent switching has a negative effect on the
life of both control gear and lamps. Z-Way utilises dimmable control
gear. After an area has been detected as vacant* the lighting will
gradually fade* down to 20%* where it will remain until movement is
detected, at which point it will return to 100%.
Installation is simplified as all sensors are installed within the
luminaires, which are simply linked together by one 6-core cable.
* Vacancy timeout, fade time and dim down values may all be defined
