Clean Driving
A new way of driving
-More economical -Safer -More serence -More ecological -Faster
Prerequisites
-Optimize your car Use ecological tires Inflate your tires well Don’t store useless objects Don’t install roof racks Drive with the windows shut Keep air-con use to a minimum
-Your car will be lighter and more optimized, and therefore consume less fuel.
Prerequisites
Drive serenely by: Making some time allowance on each trip So that you can drive more smoothly… And save 20% on fuel… Save money While being less stressed
Clean Driving
To adopt the Zen attitude and be in harmony with oneself and nature.
Drive serenely
Don’t tailgate Anticipate the driving behavior of
others, such as trucks, so as to… Limit the stress associated with speed
variations (braking, etc.) Limit the necessity for reacceleration,
which emits a lot of Co2
Drive serenely
Anticipate red lights Put your car into neutral once you see a
red light 100 or 200 meters ahead. You will pollute less And there will be less wear on your brake
pads When the light turns green, you will still
have maintained some speed And this will save you time!
Optimize your driving
Anticipate descents by refraining from accelerating just before these
Gather speed in descents to consume less when you go back up again, while going faster still.
Shift into higher gears as soon as possible and never over-rev.
Drive respectfully
Courtesy Give way to pedestrians Be nice with other drivers, especially
when you have nothing to lose Give way to drivers coming out of car parks
or parking lots Go easy on learner drivers
Serene driving
Respect others: use turn signals, obey the rules of the road, etc.
Be open to others Car pooling, for instance, is convivial and
a lot less expensive!!! And be Zen!!!
And why not…
Carpool It’s convivial Less boring for the driver Less expensive Less polluting And of course, the driver pays more
attention to his/her driving since he/she is reponsible for the lives of passengers.
And why not…
Drive on vegetable oil? You can do this with diesel engines, up to a
maximum of 30%. It’s less expensive Smells good Supports small local farmers. Pollutes less, since the co2 emitted was
abosrbed by the plant during its growth. N.B: It is authorized by the EU, and hence in
France, but banned by the French state…
Source of a 1st generation biofuel
Conclusion
Clean Driving is a new way of driving Ecological Economical: potentially up to 30% of
savings on fuel, that is… 364 liters saved per car and per year
on average (i.e. about $750)
Conclusion
If everyone in France were to adopt the Clean Driving method, this would mean: 23 million tonnes less of co2 Enough savings per car for a trip to
Morocco…
