PENN STATE UNIVERSITY FELLOWSHIP IN CARDIOVASCULAR/INTER.VENTIONAL RADIOLOGY-ThePenn State University Department ofRadiology offers one- or two-year fellowships in Cardiovascular/InterventionalRadiology, with a primary purpose ofpreparing graduates for academic careers in the subspecialty of CV/1 Radiology. Fellows will receive training in allaspects of diagnostic and interventionalangiography (including Neuro- and Pulmonary Angiography), percutaneousand combined percutaneous/peroral biliary interventions, genitourinary interventions, central and peripheral venography (with IVC filter placement),traumatic and oncological embolizations, foreign body retrievals, and complex biopsy and drainage and stentingprocedures (under multiple imagingmodalities). Clinical responsibility at theInstructor level is required, necessitatinga Pennsylvania Medical License, University Hospital Medical Staff Privileges,and ABR eligibility (at time of application) and certification (during first program year). Independent original research is expected and is amply funded,both in time and money. The animalresearch facility at Penn State Universityis one of the finest facilities of its kind inthe country and is coupled with adedicated MR research facility withangiographic and spectroscopic capability. Both research facilities are staffed byfull-time research associates and research faculty, and are equipped withmodern state-of-the-art equipment. ELIGIBILITY: The Fellowship is open toindividuals, who have completed anaccredited residency program in radiology, can obtain a Pennsylvania MedicalLicense, and have fulfilled ABR requirements for Board Certification or Eligibility.
