It is believed the town was born at the time of the Roman invasion in 55BC as excavations have unearthed evidence of its early Roman roots with some of the ancient finds on display in Billericay School. More than a millenium and a half later, in 1620, five local residents set sail for the New World on the Mayflower with the Pilgrim Fathers.
A new town was subsequently established in Massachusetts and named Billerica to commemorate the origins of its early settlers. Thus began a relationship across the Atlantic Ocean that is still nurtured today.
One of Billericay’s overriding enticements for young families is the quality and convenience of the local schools. Just five minutes’ walk from Cherry Tree Park is the highly respected Billericay School, one of the largest co-educational secondary schools in Essex with a mixed ability intake and a 6th form college. When you do need to travel further afield, Billericay Station is at the northern end of the High Street, just over a mile from Cherry Tree Park. From here a very frequent train service will speed you the 35 miles to London’s Liverpool Street in a little over 30 minutes. Chelmsford and Southend are also very accessible by rail or road for major shopping expeditions or a seaside visit. Billericay lies almost equidistant between the A12 and the A127 each of which link with the M25 a few miles to the west.

When your new home is ready you’ll be invited to a Demonstration and Inspection Meeting to show you how everything works and to make sure you’re totally happy with the level of finish prior to completion.
At the Handover Meeting you’ll receive a Handover Pack, contact
details for our customer services team and a list of emergency numbers for 24-hour support.
Once you move in, we will follow up with a Welcome Pack and a call to ensure you’re completely happy or to address any issues that may have arisen. Finally, the Customer Services team will ensure you remain content in your new Banner home for many years after completion.
