1 Centre for Holistic Development 2018-2019 SLC is very sensitive towards societal changes and thus, under the leadership of its Principal, Prof. Rabi Narayan Kar, the College has established a Centre for Holistic Development (CHD), in the year 2016, for ensuring a balanced development of our students. The Principal felt a strong need to establish this Centre because in today's scenario, where one is witness to a widespread degeneration of human values (principles, standards, convictions, and beliefs), it is our moral duty to groom these young scholars, enriching them with empathy and moral consciousness so that they become the torch bearers of the "Human Values" movement. This Centre focuses on developing and imparting holistic education to our students to make them ethically strong. This would make them responsible citizens. The Centre is led by Dr. Ruchika Ramakrishnan, Convenor with the invaluable support from its Faculty Team Members- Dr. Usha Kashyap, Ms. Niti Agarwal, Ms. Adithi, Ms. Poonam, Ms. Pooja, Ms. Swati, Ms. Sumanjeet, Ms. Neha and Ms. Shaista; and its Student Team Members- Divyanshi Jain (Team Leader), Archit Anand ( Team Leader), Mohit Sethi, Jyotika Maroo, Gaurav Thapliyal, Shubham Aggarwal, Shivam Gupta, Nisha Jain, Nikita Mittal, Tanay Maheshwari, Kirti Jain, Bharti Ahuja, Gauri Malhotra, Prince Mehta, Tanisha, Himanshu, Suraj, Siddharth Mishra, Harshita Jaiswal and Nishtha. Celebration of International Yoga Day, June 21, 2018 Centre for Holistic Development (CHD), established by our Principal Sir, Prof. Rabi Narayan Kar, celebrated 4th International Yoga Day on June 21, 2018. A week long yoga camp was organized in the college campus. On June 21, 2018, International Yoga day was celebrated by organising a plethora of activities- seminar, debate, rangoli, poster presentation. Sh. Manoj Tiwari, President BJP, Delhi encouraged the students and told them some of the benefits of performing Yog Asanas for a holistic development. He also reinforced the importance of our Vedas and the great lessons we should pick up from there.

Celebration of International Yoga Day, June 21, 2018

Centre for Holistic Development (CHD), established

2018. A week long yoga camp was organized in the

National Youth Festival “SANSKAR-SANSKRITI-SAMRIDDHI”,

January 11-12, 2019

On January 11 & 12, 2019 CHD organised in its precinct the National Youth Festival

“SANSKAR-SANSKRITI-SAMRIDDHI” to pay respect to Swami Vivekananda on his birth

anniversary. The objective behind organizing this festival was to bring about the holistic

development of the Youth, which involves a process of self-actualization and learning that

combines an individual’s mental, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual growth. We felt

privileged in the august presence of the Chief Guest of the Festival, Professor Raj Kumar, Vice

Chancellor, Panjab University. He applauded the CHD Team for its achievements and advised

to spread the development accomplished. He, further, endorsed the approach towards living a

positive life. The earnest zeal of the participants to make the event a big success was lucidly

reflecting in the enthusiasm that gripped them. The organizing team comprised Dr. Usha

Kashyap, Dr. Ruchika Ramakrishnan (Convenor), Ms. Niti Agrawal, Ms. Adithi, Ms. Poonam,

Ms. Pooja, Ms. Swati, Ms. Sumanjeet, Ms. Neha, Ms. Shaista (Faculty Team Members) led by

our Principal Sir, Prof. Rabi Narayan Kar and our Chairperson, Smt. Savita Gupta. All this was

possible due to the untiring efforts of our student team led by Ms. Divyanshi Jain and Mr.

Archit Anand (Team Leaders). The team comprised Mohit, Jyotika, Shivam, Shubham, Nisha,

Nikita, Tanay, Kirti, Bharti, Gaurav, Gauri, Tanisha, Himanshu, Suraj, Siddharth, Harshita,

Nishtha and Prince. We are also thankful to our faculty members, staff and students for the

grand success of this unique event.

Celebration of International Yoga Day, June 21, 2019

Centre for Holistic Development (CHD), established by our Principal Sir, Prof. Rabi Narayan

Kar, celebrated 5th International Yoga Day on June 21, 2019. A week long yoga camp was

organized in the college campus. On June 21, it was a large gathering of around 250 persons

comprising SLC Principal, faculty, staff, students; students from some other educational

institutes and people from the neighbourhood of the College. Sh. Manoj Tiwari, President BJP,

Delhi encouraged the gathering by performing Yog Asanas with them and told them some of

the benefits of Yoga. Celebrations also comprised a rangoli making competition and poster

presentation.
