Celebration of the Constitution Day at Tezpur University
The Constitution Day was celebrated with a day long programme at Tezpur
University on 25 November, 2016. The day began with the collective reading of the
Preamble and the Fundamental Duties of the citizens of India as enshrined in the Indian
Constitution by the faculty and students at various schools at 10.30 in the morning. The
respective Deans of Schools administered the programme.
This was followed by a Talk on ‘Constitution and Rule of Law’ delivered by Dr.
Bhuban Ch. Barooah, Principal, Tezpur Law College at 11.30 am at the Seminar Hall of the
Department of Mass Communication and Journalism. The talk was followed by a question-
answer session where Dr. Barooah responded to various queries put by the students. Ms.
Natasha Hazarika, a PhD student in the Dept. of Sociology anchored the programme, which
was attended by a cross-section of people including students, research scholars and faculty
members.
After the talk, an Open House Quiz Competition was organised on various aspects
of the Indian Constitution. The programme was held in the Seminar Hall of the Department
of Mass Communication and Journalism. The Quiz was conducted by National Level Quiz
Champion Mr. Ashutosh Das, who is also a Guest Faculty (B. Voc. Programme) in the Dept.
