On 29 June 1869 Bishop Augustus Short laid the foundation stone of St Peter’s Cathedral.
What might those who gathered with him on that day have imagined for the future of this inspired and visionary new beginning?
One hundred and fifty years later, Festival 150 is our opportunity to honour them—to celebrate their faith, courage and generosity and to build on their legacy as we continue to imagine the future with imagination, purpose and grace. We look forward to welcoming you to the Festival 150 programme, which offers a range of celebratory events throughout 2019.
