Quattro sezioni di concorso, 1744 opere iscritte, 124 film in proiezione, 12 giurati, 70 Paesi.Poche cifre per una prima sommaria panoramica di quello che è il 41° Bolzano ShortFilmFestival. La manifestazione, a prevalente vocazione inter-nazionale, offre uno spazio a quello che rappre-senta il meglio della produzione in materia di cortometraggi.Lo si scrive ogni anno - l’evento cresce - come una creatura indipendente e dotata di vita pro-pria, e, per il 2009, a questa evoluzione ha contri-buito in modo deciso l’apertura al mondo delle produzioni in lingua tedesca, attraverso una com-petizione ad esse dedicata, die kurze Welle.L’impatto che questa manifestazione è in grado di sviluppare può definirsi di triplice natura: da un lato, permette agli organizzatori, provenienti da una realtà culturale vivace e, allo stesso tempo, pratica come quella del Cineclub Bolzano, di avvi-cinarsi in modo sempre più approfondito al mon-do delle produzioni internazionali e nazionali del più diverso livello; in secondo luogo, la considere-vole offerta culturale che un evento multiforme e poliedrico come il Bolzano ShortFilmFestival pone alla cittadinanza ed al pubblico locale; infine, se attraverso la “finestra” culturale è il cinema un po’ di tutto il mondo che viene proiettato sugli schermi durante la manifestazione, accade anche il contrario, ossia qualcosa della cultura di chi or-ganizza e ospita il festival si muove e va a toccare realtà diverse e, stimolando il loro interesse a prendere parte alle varie competizioni, ingenera un intento comunicativo e partecipatorio.Nel corso dell’ultimo anno, inoltre il Bolzano ShortFilmFestival ha trovato, se così si può dire, un compagno di ventura, una realtà nuova, Bolza-noComics, Festival Internazionale di fumetti, che esplora, nella forma della competizione, ma non solo, il mondo del fumetto senza parole, toccan-do temi e stilemi che intersecano, sotto diversi aspetti, molti punti di interesse del cinema pro-posto in sala.Auguriamo, quindi, “buon viaggio” anche al no-stro pubblico, ricordandogli che, se è pur vero - come si suol dire - che è la strada il vero scopo del viaggio, è importante soffermarsi anche sulle singole stazioni, e che, soffermandosi su questa 41esima tappa della vita del Bolzano ShortFilm-Festival avrà, ancora una volta, modo di incontra-re e conoscere interessanti e curiosi “compagni di viaggio”.

ShortFilmFestivals im Überblick.Die Veranstaltung, mit vorwiegend internationa-lem Charakter, bietet den Rahmen für eine Aus-wahl der besten Kurzfilmproduktionen.Das Festival entwickelt mittlerweile ein Eigenle-ben und wächst von Jahr zu Jahr. 2009 ist diese Entwicklung der Öffnung für deutsche Produk-tionen mit einer eigenen Sektion für deutsch-sprachige Filme, „Die kurze Welle“, zuzuschrei-ben.Dreierlei Effekte erzielt das ShortFilmFestival: einerseits erlaubt es den Organisatoren, aus einer lebendigen kulturellen Vereinigung wie dem Cineclub Bozen kommend, sich der Welt der nationalen und internationalen Kurzfilmpro-duktionen auf höchstem Niveau zu nähern; an-dererseits bietet eine solch facettenreiche und vielseitige Veranstaltung dem Bozner Publikum ein ansprechendes kulturelles Angebot.Und letztendlich wird im Rahmen des Festivals durch die Vorführung unterschiedlichster Filme auch Kultur aus aller Welt auf die Leinwand gebracht; der kulturelle Hintergrund des orga-nisierenden Landes selbst bewegt zudem auch etwas in der Wahrnehmung der teilnehmenden Autoren, stimuliert deren Interesse und Kreativi-tät und motiviert dazu, an verschiedenen Wett-bewerbssektionen teilzunehmen und mit dem Publikum zu kommunizieren.Das Bolzano ShortFilmFestival hat im letzten Jahr einen neuen „Gefährten“ bekommen, BolzanoComics, ein internationales Festival für Comics ohne Worte, das unter verschiedensten Aspekten Schnittpunkte in Thematik und Stil der gezeigten Filme wieder aufnimmt.Unserem Publikum wünschen wir denn eine „gute Reise“, getreu dem Motto „der Weg ist das Ziel“, möchten jedoch auch anmerken, dass das Innehalten an einzelnen Stationen ebenso wichtig ist und dass dieses Verweilen an der 41.ten Ausgabe des Bolzano ShortFilmFestivals sicherlich Gelegenheit bieten wird, neuen, inter-essanten Reisegefährten zu begegnen.

This mainly international event offers a space for all that is best in short film production.The event has been growing year or year, seemingly taking on a life of its own and, in 2009, a decisive contribution has been made to this evolution by introducing a competi-tion, die kurze Welle, dedicated to produc-tions made in the German language.This event has three separate impacts: first, it allows to the organisers, coming from the lively, practical cultural milieu of the Cine-club Bolzano, to get ever closer to the world of international and national productions at all levels; second, there is the major cultural boost that a multiform, diverse event such as the Bolzano ShortFilmFestival offers the townspeople and the local population; and lastly, while cinema from all parts of the world is being projected onto the screen through a cultural “window” during the event, the converse is also true, that something of the culture of the organisers and hosts of the festival will affect and touch others, stimulat-ing their interest in taking part in the various competitions and encouraging communica-tion and participation.In addition, during the last year, the Bolzano ShortFilmFestival has found a partner to share its adventures: BolzanoComics, the in-ternational festival of comics which, through competitions and other forms, explores the world of the wordless comic strip, touching topics and styles that intersect in various ways with many aspects of the cinema being shown.We would therefore like to wish everyone, including our audience, “buon viaggio”, re-calling that, if it is true – as they say – that the road is the real purpose of the journey, it is also important to stop off along the way, and that by stopping at this 41st stage in the life of the Bolzano ShortFilmFestival, people will once again have the chance to meet and get to know interesting and interested “trav-elling companions”.

Il Bolzano Short Film Festival, giunto quest’anno alla 41^ edizione, si è ormai affermato a livello internazionale nell’ambito del cinema in forma breve, come testimoniano l’alto numero di opere e di paesi che partecipano. Si tratta di un’iniziativa culturale di grande in-teresse, in grado di veicolare ed incoraggiare la circolazione dei cortometraggi, promuovendo l’opera di giovani autori attraverso l’incontro con il pubblico, la stampa e gli operatori del settore.Una manifestazione aperta alla sperimentazione tecnica ed artistica che raccoglie il meglio della produzione indipendente e alla quale quest’anno si aggiunge il nuovo concorso di film in lingua te-desca “Die kurze Welle” che potrà ampliare ulte-riormente la proposta culturale offerta. Il Bolzano Short Film Festival, capace di sensibiliz-zare il pubblico sui differenti modi di concepire il cinema, riflette il fermento culturale ed artistico della città di Bolzano e dell’intera regione.Per queste motivazioni abbiamo sostenuto con grande interesse il Festival, per il quale occorre ringraziare il Cineclub Bolzano, che con tanta passione ed impegno organizza questa originale manifestazione culturale.

Leonardo Gandini (President)Professore associato di Storia e critica del cinema presso l’Università di Trento e docente di Iconografia del cinema presso il Dams di Bologna. Autore e curatore di volumi sul cinema hollywoodiano classico e contemporaneo, collabora con le riviste “Cineforum” e “Panoramiche”.
Professor für Kinogeschichte und Filmkritik an der Universität Trient, Dozent für Ikonographie des Films am DAMS in Bologna. Autor einiger Bücher über den klassischen und zeitgenössischen Hollywoodfilm, arbeitet er mit den Zeitschriften “Cineforum” und “Panora-miche” zusammen.
Associated Professor of History and Critics of the Cinema at the University of Trento; Professor of Iconography of Cinema at the Dams of Bologna; author and curator of different publications about the classical and contemporary cinema of Hol-lywood, and of the revue “Cineforum” and “Panoramiche”.
Sandro TarterInsegnante di Religione e docente di Filosofia. Da sempre interessato di cinema, cura dal 1988 un cineforum settimanale. E’ coordinatore del Laboratorio di attività cinematografiche “Effetto Notte” presso il Liceo Classico/Linguistico “G. Carducci” di Bolzano. Ha realizzato una decina di corti e lungometraggi.
Unterrichtet Religion und ist Dozent für Philosophie. Seit jeher am Kinofilm interessiert, betreut er seit 1988 wöchentlich ein Cinefo-rum. Er ist Koordinator des Kinolabors “Effetto Notte” am Humanistischen Sprachenlyzeum “G. Carducci” in Bozen. Sandro Tarter hat einige Filme und Kurzfilme produziert.

Debora ScaperottaDiplomata in regia e sviluppo progetto alla Scuola di documentario, televisione e nuovi media Zelig. Autrice di documentari con i quali ha ottenuto prestigiosi riconoscimenti.
Diplom für Regie und Projektentwicklung an der Schule für Dokumentarfilm, Fernsehen und Neue Medien Zelig. Als Autorin von Dokumentarfilmen hat sie einige bedeutende Anerkennungen erhalten.
Graduated at the Documentary-School Zelig. Author of documentaries that have obtained prestigious awards.

Alessandro Marcionni (President)Alessandro Marcionni è nato a Lugano, CH, nel 1979. Già durante I suoi studi di cinema, inizia la sua collaborazione con il Festival internazionale del film di Locarno. Dopo aver ricoperto varie posizioni negli ultimi anni, è dal 2009 responsabile dei “Pardi di domani”, sezione dedicata al cortometraggio. Regista e montatore, fonda nel 2004 l’Associazione tiKINÒ, con cui produce, in 5 anni, più di 300 cortometraggi.
Alessandro Marcionni ist 1979 in Lugano in der Schweiz geboren. Bereits während seiner Studienzeit hat seine Mitarbeit am Inter-nationalen Filmfestival von Locarno begonnen. Nachdem er in den letzten Jahren unterschiedliche Aufgabengebiete betreut hat, ist er seit 2009 für die Kurzfilmsektion “Pardi di domani” verantwortlich. Regisseur und Cutter, gründet er 2004 die Vereinigung tiKINÒ, mit der er in den letzten 5 Jahren über 300 Kurzfilme produziert hat.

Roberto CondottaCameraman, tecnico di montaggio, produttore indipendente e collaboratore di Rai, Mediaset, Discovery Channel, ha realiz-zato documentari e reportage di viaggio. Docente di teoria e pratica cinematografica.
Kameramann, Cutter, unabhängiger Produzent und Mitarbeiter der Rai, von Mediaset und Discovery Channel, hat er zahlreiche Do-kumentarfilme und Reisereportagen gestaltet. Er ist Dozent für Theorie und Praxis des Films.

Denis IsaiaRicercatore culturale e curatore di arte contemporanea. Nel 2006 avvia il concorso per giovani curatori Best Art Practices. Nel 2007 vince il premio Borsa Arte Giovane di Genova. Nel 2008 è assistente dei Raqs Media Collective per Manifesta7 con cui co-cura il progetto Tabula Rasa. Nello stesso anno inaugura il Premio alle passioni la seconda luna.

Hannes PasqualiniDi giorno lavora come illustratore e designer della comunicazione, di notte pensa, scrive e disegna. Ha realizzato alcuni albi tra cui: Xnovo (su testi di Roberto Mascia) e Round and Round (su testi di Andrea Campanella) e ha prodotto storie brevi per riviste e antologie come: Inguine Mah!gazine, Resistenze, Futuro Anteriore, Libro Piccolo di Bugie, Monstars, ZeroTol-leranza. È stato cofondatore del gruppo Monipodio e inventore dei “fumetti parassiti”.

During the day he works as illustrator and designer, at night he thinks, writes and draws. He has drawn album like Xnovo (with text of Roberto Mascia) and Round and Round (with text of Andrea Campanella) and has produced short and long stories like: Inguine Mah!gazine, Resistenze, Futuro Anteriore, Libro Piccolo di Bugie, Monstars, ZeroTolleranza. He has con-tributed to create the ensemble Monipodio and was the founder of the “parasite cartoons”.

Bruno Di Marino (President)Storico dell’immagine in movimento, è tra i maggiori studiosi italiani di sperimentazione audiovisiva e new media. Ha curato inoltre diversi festival, numerose rassegne e retrospettive in Italia e all’estero. Direttore della collana di dvd “Interferenze” per le edizioni Rarovideo ed autore di numerosi saggi pubblicati a livello internazionale.
Historiker des Bewegtbilds, ist einer der wichtigsten italienischen Forscher des audiovisuellen Experimentierens und der Neuen Me-dien. Er beschäftigte sich mit der Organisation verschiedener Festivals, Vorführungen und Retrospektiven in Italien und im Ausland. Er ist Direktor der DVD-Reihe „Interferenze“ für den Herausgeber Rarovideo und Autor zahlreicher Essays, die in verschiedenen Länder veröffentlicht wurden.
Historian of moving image, is one of the most important Italian researcher of audiovisual experimentation and new media. Furthermore, he organised numerous festivals, film shows and retrospectives in Italy and abroad. He is director of the DVD-series “Interferenze” for Rarovideo editions and author of many essays that have been published in many lands.
Raoul MelottoLaureato in filosofia, ha curato rassegne e retrospettive sull’estetica e la storia del cinema presso:La Sorbonne (Parigi), Film-museum di Monaco, collabora come traduttore, curatore e recensore in diverse riviste di settore. Docente di semiotica della comunicazione audiovisiva, comunicazione aziendale e competenze relazionali presso centri di formazione perma-nente e obbligo della formazione a Bologna e Ancona.
Promoviert in Philosophie, war er Kurator einiger Retrospektiven über Ästhetik und Geschichte des Films an der Sorbonne in Paris, am Filmmuseum in München. Er arbeitet als Übersetzer, Kurator und Rezensent bei mehreren Fachzeitschriften. Dozent für Semiotik der audiovisuellen Kommunikation und Kompetenzen an den Zentren für ständige Weiterbildung in Bologna und Ancona.
Graduated in Philosophy, he has organized exhibitions and retrospectives about aesthetics and history of Cinema at La Sorbonne (Paris) and Filmmuseum (Munich). He works also as translator and editor for different film-reviews. He is also teacher in audiovisual communication, corporate communication and relations for different training societies in Bologna and Ancona.

Giancarlo AlessandriniHa iniziato il suo percorso artistico sul Corriere dei Ragazzi, realizzando racconti e pubblicazioni in Italia ed all’estero. Nel 1982 da le sembianze a “Martin Mystère” di Castelli per la Sergio Bonelli Editore, collaborando nel frattempo con le più importanti riviste italiane (Comic Art, Eternauta,Torpedo).
Seine künstlerische Laufbahn beginnt er beim “Corriere dei Ragazzi” mit dem Zeichnen von Geschichten und mit Veröffentlichungen in In- und Ausland. 1982 schenkt er “Martin Mystère” von Castelli (Herausgeber Sergio Bonelli) sein Aussehen und arbeitet mit den bedeutendsten italienischen Zeitschriften zusammen (Comic Art, Eternauta,Torpedo).
He has started his art career for the magazine ‘Corriere dei Ragazzi’, with stories and publications in Italy and other countri-es. 1982 he works for the cartoon “Martin Mystère” of Castelli for Sergio Bonelli Editore and with important magazines ( Comic Art, Eternauta,Torpedo).

È titolare di una casa di produzione. Dal 2002 cura i progetti filmici degli studenti ZeLIG-Scuola di documentario ed è direttore di produzione dei film di diploma.
Geb. 1973 in Stuttgart. Er hat nach dem Studium an der ZeLIG (Bozen) und Hochschule der Künste (Berlin) mehrere Jahre als Kameramann für Film und Fernsehen gearbeitet. Er hat eine eigene Produktionsfirma. Seit 2002 betreut er an der ZeLIG die studentischen Filmprojekte und ist verantwortlicher Produktionsleiter für die Diplomfilme.
Georg Zeller, 1973 (Stuttgart). After graduating from the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin and ZeLIG (Bozen), he worked as DOP and cameraman. He directs his own independent production company. He has worked as supervisor of student film projects at ZeLIG-School for documentary since 2002, and is director of production for student diploma films.

The aim of the festival is to promote the cir-culation of short films by supporting young authors who, having no market available to them for the distribution of their works, can use the festival as an opportunity to present their films and make themselves known to the general public.The Film Festival Opere Nuove is again for-ward looking. Scopo del festival è di promuovere corto-metraggi che parlano agli spettatori senza le parole, secondo un registro di pura espres-sività. La rappresentazione filmica, condotta solo attraverso immagini in movimento e suoni, senza l’espressione verbale, crea un sistema di comunicazione internazionale di-retto senza l’ausilio di traduzione o sottoti-tolazione e restituisce al segno cinematogra-fico il valore di pura e assoluta significazione di immagine.
Potersi confrontare con il resto del Mondo ad armi pari non è una cosa che capita spes-so. Quante volte ci si domanda, durante la lettura dell’ultimo bestseller, se l’autore nel-la sua lingua madre descrive realmente così le situazioni narrate? Quante volte, con lo sguardo incatenato ai sottotitoli, ci troviamo alla fine del film senza averne pienamente apprezzato la fotografia o la recitazione?L’assenza di dialoghi lo rende poliglotta, au-mentandone le potenzialità e rafforzandone le sfumature.
Ziel des Festivals ist es, Kurzfilme zu präsentie-ren, die ohne Worte auskommen und den Zu-schauer allein durch ihre Expressivität anspre-chen. Die filmische Darstellung ohne verbalen Ausdruck, nur durch bewegte Bilder und Klän-ge, erlaubt es ein direktes und internationales Kommunikationssystem aufzubauen, das ohne Hilfsmittel, Untertitel oder Übersetzungen aus-kommt und dem Film den Wert der reinen und absoluten Bedeutung von Bildern zurückgibt.
Sich mit der ganzen Welt auf gleicher Ebene vergleichen zu können, das passiert nicht so häufig. Wie oft fragen wir uns bei der Lektüre des letzten Bestsellers, ob der Schriftsteller die Situationen in seiner Muttersprache auch wirk-lich so beschreibt. Wie oft denken wir am Ende eines Films, nachdem wir uns auf die Untertitel konzentriert haben, dass wir die Photographie oder das Talent der Schauspieler nicht zu schät-zen gewusst haben.Ohne Dialoge wird der Film mehrsprachig, seine Potentiale erhöhen sich, seine Details verschär-fen sich.
The aim of the festival is to promote short films that communicate with the audience without using words, through means of pure expression. The filmed representation, shown only through moving images and natural sounds, without any verbal expression, creates a direct international communication system, without the need for translation or subtitling, thus restoring the pure and absolute meaning of the image to cinematographic art.
To be confronted with the rest of the world, on the same level, does not happen so often. How many times do we wonder, while reading the last best-seller, if the author describes the situations in the same way in his own language. How many times, watching a film, we realize that we did not enjoy the photography or the actors’ play because our eyes were stuck to the subtitles.The absence of dialogues makes the film poly-glot, enhancing his potential and his details.

Dal 2005 esiste, all’interno del Bolzano ShortFilmFestival, uno spazio dedicato al cinema sperimentale. Il cammino è iniziato con le prime mostre/installazioni, che hanno confermato, grazie al loro successo, anche l’interesse del pubblico verso questo aspet-to dell’arte cinematografica.
Cosa è il film sperimentale?Jean Mitry in un celeberrimo saggio sulla storia del cinema sperimentale, definisce il cinema sperimentale come essenza del cine-ma stesso in costante evoluzione: ciò che é abbozzo informe oggi diviene opera compiu-ta domani. Questo concetto evidenzia uno degli aspetti cardine dell’attenzione alla spe-rimentazione filmica: la capacità di innovare, il coraggio di tentare nuove vie, l’intelligenza e l’ardimento nel miscelare media di diversa natura per andare al di là della tradizionale e basilare grammatica del linguaggio filmico.
La sperimentazione spesso intimorisce, so-prattutto se messa a confronto diretto con la tradizione. Per questo riteniamo non solo di mantenere come negli ultimi anni uno spa-zio per le rassegne dedicate al cinema spe-rimentale, ma, seguendo anche quello che è il trend di molti festival a livello internazio-nale, di creare un vero e proprio laboratorio competitivo, ricordando che il cinema stesso rappresenta, fin dalle origini, innovazione e tentativo di scoperta di nuove espressioni.
Cosa è il cinema sperimentale dunque?Una risposta breve non c’è: proprio perché si discosta dai canoni della “tradizione” non è circoscrivibile in una definizione immobile. La parola, dunque, ai giurati ed al pubblico.
Seit dem Jahr 2005 gibt es im Rahmen des Bolzano ShortFilmFestivals eine Sektion für den experimentellen Film. Begonnen hat das ganze mit Ausstellungen und Installationen, die Dank ihres Erfolges das Interesse des Publikums für diese spezielle Form der Filmkunst bestätigt hat.
Was hat man sich unter dem experimentelle Film vorzustellen?In einem überaus bekannten Essay über die Geschichte des experimentellen Films definiert Jean Mitry diesen als die Essenz des sich ständig verändernden Filmes: was heute ein unförmiger Entwurf ist, wird morgen ein vollendetes Werk sein. Diese Vorstellung hebt einen der Haupt-aspekte des filmischen Experimentierens her-vor: die Fähigkeit zur Innovation, den Mut, neue Wege zu beschreiten, die Intelligenz und den Wagemut beim Kombinieren unterschiedlichster Medien, um die traditionelle und grundlegende Grammatik filmischer Sprache zu überwinden.
Das Experimentelle, vor allem wenn es in direk-tem Vergleich zum Traditionellen steht, veräng-stigt oft. Daher möchten wir, wie in den letzten Jahren auch, dem experimentellen Film nicht nur einen speziellen Raum geben, sondern, dem Trend zahlreicher internationaler Filmfestivals folgend, und in Anlehnung an die Ursprünge des Films, der seit jeher von Innovationsgeist und der Suche nach neuen Ausdrucksformen geprägt ist, ein regelrechtes „Labor des Wettbewerbs“ schaffen.
Was versteht man nun aber wirklich unter dem experimentellen Film? Gerade weil er fern der traditionellen Maßstäbe liegt und sich nicht mit Hilfe fester Definitionen umschreiben lässt, gibt es keine kurze Antwort auf diese Frage. Das Wort geht also an die Mitglieder der Jury und an das Publikum.
Since 2005 the ShortFilmFestival of Bolzano, Italy, has a section dedicated to experimental films. Initially they were shown on installations and during exhibitions highly appreciated by the audience.
In a famous dissertation about the story of the Experimental Cinema, Jean Mitry defines the Experimental Cinema as the essence of the Cinema itself, like something that is in con-stant evolution: what is today only a formless figure becomes tomorrow a complete work.This concept highlights one of the most im-portant aspects of experimenting in films: the attitude to innovation, the courage of discov-ering experimental paths, the smart use of dif-ferent medias in order to go further beyond the basic language of films.
What is new scares us, especially when we compare it to tradition. For this reason we want to guarantee, like we did in the previous years, a special space dedicated to experimen-tal films. Following the actual trend of many international film festivals, we want to create a real competitive laboratory also for reminding that cinema itself has always represented in-novation and research of new expressions.
What is Experimental Cinema?There is not a clear answer to this question because this genre has taken distances from the traditional rules. Only the jury and the au-dience can decide it.

Una nuova sezione di concorso si aggiunge alle tre già esistenti all’interno del Bolzano ShortFilmFestival: die kurze Welle, compe-tizione riservata alle opere con dialoghi in lingua tedesca.La scelta di specializzazione da parte de-gli organizzatori è dettata da due ordini di considerazioni: in primo luogo, per offrire al pubblico della città di Bolzano anche corto-metraggi in lingua tedesca e, quindi, ampliare la propria offerta culturale; a questo dato, si aggiunge la volontà di esplorare in modo an-cora più profondo il mondo delle produzio-ni di area germanofona, sempre numerose e di eccellente qualità, senza limitarsi a quelle senza parole o sperimentali, compatibili con le preesistenti sezioni di competizione.
Zu den bisherigen Wettbewerbsektionen des Bolzano ShortFilmFestival gesellt sich eine neue, vierte Sektion: „Die kurze Welle“, ein, Filmen mit deutschen Dialogen vorbehaltener Wettbewerb.Der Entscheidung zu einer spezifisch deutschen Sektion liegen zwei Überlegungen der Organisa-toren zugrunde: einerseits die, dem Bozner Pu-blikum auch deutschsprachige Kurzfilme anbie-ten zu wollen und damit das kulturelle Angebot zu erweitern. Anderseits besteht der Wille, den zahlreichen hervorragenden Produktionen des deutschen Sprachraumes mehr Platz zu bieten, ohne sie auf die Thematiken bestehender Wett-bewerbssektionen, wie den Experimentalfilm oder Filme ohne Worte, zu beschränken.

Bolzano Comics, festival internazionale di fumetto, ha luogo dal 6 al 15 novembre a Bolzano.Al suo interno, diversi eventi, in primo luogo la competizione internazionale per fumetti senza parole, alla quale hanno partecipa-to oltre 130 autori da tutto il mondo e le cui opere selezionate sono esposte presso la galleria Museo dal 11 al 14 novem-bre, ma anche una serie di presentazioni ed esposizioni, che illustriamo nel dettaglio.

Cineclub Bolzano è un’associazione nata contestualmente al Festival Opere Nuove, 41 anni fa, e non è un caso. Un’associazione di videomakers, appassionanti di cinema, che, credendo vivamente che nel confronto con l’altro sia la vera fonte di apprendimento e di crescita, ha esordito sul panorama cultu-rale bolzanino con la proposta di un festival di cinema. L’attività, nel corso degli anni, è cresciuta e si è diversificata.Al di là dei festival di cinema, organizzati e promossi con cadenza annuale, l’associazio-ne vanta una proposta settimanale di attività per gli aderenti, concorsi tematici interni ri-servati ai soci, un corso di video ogni anno, che permette ai neofiti ed ai neo-soci di apprendere le tecniche base di ripresa o di approfondire comunque le nozioni già pos-sedute. A dicembre viene organizzata una serata dedicata ai film dei soci, ogni anno, un vero e proprio “show reel” dell’associazio-ne: il Cineclub apre le porte alla cittadinan-za, che ha sempre risposto con entusiastica adesione, riempiendo la sala di entusiasmo e partecipazione.I film vanno “fatti”, i film vanno guardati, i film vanno discussi, criticati, smontati pezzo per pezzo. In questo contesto, l’ottica inter-nazionale e professionale offerta dai festival è di una preziosità impagabile. Guardando alle realizzazioni di altre realtà, amatoriali e non, grandi e piccole produzioni, abbiamo la possibilità di vedere proprio di tutto, dal do-cumentario alla fiction, dal film sperimentale all’animazione realizzata secondo le tecniche più disparate.Il risultato fin ad ora ottenuto ci incoraggia e ci stimola a continuare su questa strada, alla ricerca di nuove idee e di nuovi modi per concretizzare la comune passione verso il cinema in tutte le sue forme.

Die Gründung des Cineclub Bolzano und die des Festivals Opere Nuove vor 41 Jahren, fallen nicht ohne Grund in den selben Zeitraum.Eine Vereinigung von Filmemachern, überzeugt davon, dass man den Vergleich mit Gleichge-sinnten suchen sollte, um aus dem Neuen zu lernen und so selbst zu wachsen, debütierte am Panorama der Bozner Kultur mit einem Film-festival.Das Tätigkeitsfeld ist im Laufe der Jahre gewach-sen und vielfältiger geworden.Neben den alljährlich organisierten Festivals bietet der Cineclub seinen Mitgliedern wöchent-liche Treffen mit Filmvorführungen und internen Themenwettbewerben, sowie jedes Jahr einen Videokurs bei dem Anfängern und neuen Mit-gliedern die Grundkenntnisse in Aufnahmetech-nik und Filmschnitt nahe gebracht oder weiter vertieft werden.Jedes Jahr im Dezember wird ein Abend für die Mitglieder und ihre Filme organisiert, ein „show reel“ der Vereinigung: der Cineclub öffnet seine Türen, das Bozner Publikum hat stets zahlreich und mit Begeisterung daran teilgenommen.Filme werden „gemacht“, gesehen, diskutiert, Stück für Stück analysiert. In diesem Kontext ist die Sichtweise eines internationalen Festivals von unschätzbarem Wert. Filme fremder Realitäten, von Amateuren und Profis, kleine und größere Produktionen, geben uns die Möglichkeit Unter-schiedlichstes zu sehen: vom Dokumentarfilm zum Spielfilm, vom experimentellen Film zum mit verschiedensten Techniken hergestellten Ani-mationsfilm.Die bislang erzielten Resultate ermuntern uns diesen Weg weiterzugehen, auf der Suche nach neuen Ideen und neuen Wegen um unsere ge-meinsame Liebe zum Film in all seinen Formen zu konkretisieren.

Cineclub Bolzano is an association that was created at the same time as the Fes-tival Opere Nuove, 41 years ago. It attracts videomakers and cinema fans convinced that confrontation with others offers a chance to learn and improve. At least one advanced workshop is organized every year on different specific themes concern-ing sound, direction of photography, editing or screenwriting, to improve the members’ knowledge.During the month of December, an authentic showreel of the members is organized and the whole city participates with enthusiasm.Films must be made, films must be shown and discussed, criticized and analysed piece by piece.That’s why the international and professional context offered by the festival is a precious opportunity to learn.By looking at the works of other countries, from amateurs, small or big productions, we have the chance to see a big choice of films made with the most different technologies: documentaries, fictions, experimental films and animations.This means learning and to bringing the as-sociation a “plus value” otherwise impossi-ble to obtain.Until now, the results encourage us to con-tinue on this path, looking for new ideas and new ways to develop the common passion of cinema in all its forms.
