THE POOL TERRACES

Three tiered pools include a generousand bespoke hot spa, a warm, shallow paddling/relaxing pool and the mainswimming pool – an infinity pool with adramatic black slate water fall beyond.

The paddling pool is separately heated a few degrees warmer than the more energetic,swimming pool.




A major feature of the pool terraces is a largesunken seating area designed to incorporateall–weather furniture.

The terraces are all interlinked withpathways and steps and include barbecueand dining decks.






Wide granite steps link the ground andlower ground terraces leading down to thelawns beyond.

The ground floor terraces are protected by a structural glass handrail, canted to reducereflection, with a marine grade polishedsteel handrail.

Panels of hardwood decking are contained within bush hammered granite paving,classically laid in the Italianate manner.

Lighting is discreet, without glare, and withoutapparent source ensuring safety and comfort whilst making the best of the night sky and thelights of France.

The Terraces are wired for sound and datasources linked directly to the I.T. room.




THE GARDEN ROOM

Whether used for a gymnasium or as a quietretreat the undulating terraced lawns and rocky outcrop planting dramatically frame the viewsfrom this garden room.

The lawns soften the transition from thearchitectural formality of the pool terraces tothe partially wooded and rugged hillside downto the sea.

Extensive planting of Thorny Rosa Rugosaforms an impenetrable barrier of dark pink roses in the summer and massive hips inthe winter.

The main ‘cotil’ is planted with BlueHydrangea accented with Phormiums, hugegrasses, Acanthus Mollis and Aralia.

The grounds will reach maturity duringsummer 2011.
