ES seriesEnvironmental sensorsCarlo Gavazzi, the international electronics group with activities in the design, manufacturing and marketing of electronic equipment, has introduced a new range of environmental sensors. These sensors by Carlo Gavazzi are designed to measure various environmental parameters: CO, CO2, humidity, temperature, dew point and air velocity. Developed to improve indoor air quality by controlling ventilation that increases the supply of fresh air into the building, if CO2 levels rise to an unacceptable level resulting in a poor air quality and stuffy rooms. Can be used to control the humidity level in humid climates. Controlled ventilation prevents unwanted influxes of humid outdoor air that deteriorates the comfort standards of the occupants and causes the growth of mildew. In energy management systems, the accurate measurement of relative humidity and temperature is essential for optimum control of the environment.
Humidity control In humid climates, humidity control prevents unwanted in-fluxes of humid outdoor air that deteriorates the comfort level of the occupants and causes the growth of mildew.
CO2 level control The CO2 level control improves the indoor air quality by in-creasing the supply of fresh air into the building if CO2 levels rise to an unacceptable level resulting in a poor air quality and stuffy rooms.
Energy savings The environmental values help to optimise the use of energy, especially in high-density spaces in which occupancy is vari-able and unpredictable (such as auditoriums, schools, meet-ing areas and retail establishments), in locations with high heating and cooling demands, and in areas with high utility rates.

Easy installation The sensors are available in both wall and duct mounting.

Market applications Product features
HVAC (Heating, ventilation and air conditioning) According to the American ASHRAE 62-1989 norm, that recommends a maximum concentration of 1000 ppm in a room (deployed in many countries, such as USA, Sweden, France and Japan), the CO2 sensor monitors the CO2 level in the area. Then the frequency drive changes the fan speed and the amount of air flow in this area making the CO2 value comfortable.
Wide-range supply voltage The devices can be supplied with:12-30 VAC/8-30 VDC.
Analogue output Two different analogue outputs are available: 0-10 V and 4-20 mA.
Mounting type Wall or duct mounting.
Modbus communicationOptional RS485 Modbus communication.
DisplayCan be equipped with an optional dis-play.
SoftwareDedicated software for configuration, monitoring and logging.
Smart building In buildings, such as offices, schools, swimming pools and museums, these new products can provide environmental comfort, reduce energy use and help to pre-serve exhibits in museums. In buildings, such as greenhouses, incubators and food storage rooms, these new products can contribute to the optimisation of plants’ growth, improve food quality and improve energy efficiency.
Car park The CO sensor monitors the CO level in the car park to ensure a safe and comfort-able level. The sensor’s integrated Modbus communication provides communica-tion to the parking guidance system or building management system.
