Ask them to take a seat and explain that you will briefly review the form they have brought in. Take 2 minutes to review the student’s form. The focus will be the following questions on the form: Step 2. Introductions Introduce yourself and why you are here. Prepare an interesting conversation starter: Step 3. Interests Use the conversation to transition into career interests: Use this section to establish whether the student needs help with determining what their interests are or whether they need more information regarding a profession they have already decided on. Remember: The key is to remind them that there always going to be a lot of options so they should be open to all possibilities and always have a Plan B! Step 4. Discussing the Form Use the results from Section 3 of the form to guide the students. The key provided on the next page will help you interpret the form and provides references to the Student Booklet which the student can read through later. Make sure you communicate the relevance of the Booklet to students during the discussion. Step 5. Passing on Information Focus on the key program takeaways: Step 6. Review & Conclude Recap your discussion. Focus on any goals that were set by the student during the session. Thank them and wish them luck! From Section 1 Educational Information: Q3. Woh kiya kartey hein?” - “Aap ko khanay mein sab se ziyada kiya pasand hai?” - “Aap aagey ja ker kiya banna chahte hein?” - “Aap ko is profession ki kitni maloomat hai?” - “Aap ne college ke barey mein soocha hai? - “Aapke paas college ke barey mein kitni maloomaat hai?” 1. Matric & Intermediate Grades are VERY Important. They will determine what opportunities the student can avail in the future. 2. They should keep their options open and have a Plan B! Each field/ occupation has dozens of professions that students can research. 3. Vocational Training is always a viable option as students learn some trade/ skill which will last them a lifetime. 4. The Alumni Department at TCF is always available for students who complete their Matric from TCF. Service details are provided in the booklet (Page 8)

    Section 0-2 LOW 3-6 AVERAGE 7-10 HIGH

    1. Challenges

    The student does not face any serious hurdles in trying to pursue higher education.

    There might be certain factors such as low income or family restrictions holding the student back.

    There are definitely factors such as family income, restrictions, lack of self-confidence etc posing as an obstacle for the student.

    2. Lack of Career Information

    The student claims to have a sound knowledge of their career choice and options they have.

    The student has standard information about their career choice. There is room for research.

    The student does not have sufficient information about their career choice and is confused.

    3. Lack of Goals

    The student seems to have a good idea about their short term plan.

    The student has a reasonable idea of what lies ahead and might not have a plan as yet.

    The student has not given the future too much though and needs to start establishing some goals.

    4. Social Traits

    The student is more comfortable working independently or in a defined role. They would situations with public speaking.

    The student might enjoy working in teams but might avoid roles involving creative thinking or leadership.

    There is a tendency towards interactive careers and roles involving team work. They might avoid work involving a set routine.

    5. Practical Skills

    The student does not have a technical background and would not be suitable for roles related to engineering.

    The student is inclined towards investigative work but might not enjoy the mechanical aspect of certain jobs.

    The student is very likely to enjoy the range of options linked to engineering/computer science. They enjoy hands on work.

    Always Remember: - Keep it formal - Avoid strong language

    - Be sensitive to the background of our

    students

    - Your body language should be open

    - Maintain gender sensitivity

    - If you feel stumped at any point, feel

    free to pause the discussion and look

    booklet for a solution!

    You are not expected to know the answer to every question. In such cases refer students to the booklet or guide them

    towards other potential sources of information

    FAQs: Q1. I cannot decide which Intermediate faculty I should choose? That depends on your aptitude and the profession you would like to enter later in life. See Booklet Pages 3 & 5 8

    Q2. I have failed courses in 9th Grad. Would that affect my future? No. But you must work hard on improving your grades in Matric.

    Q3. How can I improve my English Language & Computer skills? There are several local centers that provide short courses. Get information from older friends/relatives. Also see Booklet Page 13

    Q4. How many marks do I need to get admission to a university? Each program has a different requirement. See Booklet Pages 5 8

    Q5. How do I apply for Intermediate? See Booklet Page 4

    Q6. Does TCF provide scholarships for higher education? Yes, subject to certain conditions. See details on Booklet Page 9

    Q7. Who should enroll in Vocational courses? Everyone who wants to boost their skill set & wants to learn a unique income-generating trade.
