New igures show concernover UKs dangerous tyres

NEW figures obtained undera Freedom of Information re-quest have revealed that mil-lions of drivers are placingthemselves and other roadusers in unnecessary dangerby driving on unsafe or ille-gal tyres.

According to data suppliedby the Driver and VehicleStandards Agency, more than2.2 million cars failed theirannual MOT test in 2013 be-cause of the state of their

tyres. Commenting on theinformation, Stuart Jackson,chairman, TyreSafe, said: Itbeggars belief that so manymotorists can fail their MOTbecause of unsafe or illegaltyres.
