PIONEERS IN THE FIELD

With the 1984 launch of our Alzheimer’s Care Center, Bethany TerraceNursing Centre became one of the earliest providers of care for those withAlzheimer’s and dementia. This extensive experience has given us a uniqueperspective into programs beneficial to those with early, middle and late stagesof Alzheimer’s and dementia.

OPENING WINDOWS OF LIGHT

Our staff has learned that you can never go wrong with Alzheimer’s and dementiaresidents by relating to them withunderstanding, respect, encouragementand love. This gentle touch reassures theseresidents and makes them feel safe andvalued. By encouraging activity andstrengthening relationships, we have beenable to minimize the use of medicationand restraints.

Residents with early-stage dementia live afull life at The Terrace. Located in thesecured, sunny Friendship Lane area, ourexceptional early-stage program emphasizessocialization and varied activities. Every

resident’s care plan becomes highly individualized as we get to know theresidents and observe how they respond to each of our many therapies.

Our recently renovated area reserved for those with more severe Alzheimer’sand dementia provides these residents with a light, cheery, airy environment. The homey decor has been designed with contrasting colors to help withdepth perception, while artwork in rooms and hallways provides visualstimulation and homelike appeal.
