Overview
Centre for Youth (C4Y) and India Water Partnership (IWP)
invite applications from under-graduates and post-graduate
students for its inaugural edition of the C4Y-IWP WATER
CHAMPIONS YOUTH FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME 2019.
The 14-week intensive Fellowship aims to empower young
leaders by providing them with relevant and comprehensive
work experience in the water sector. During the Fellowship,
the empanelled Fellows will undergo an exponential learning
curve in terms of knowledge and experience on water issues
& concerns; gain from mentorship support for strategising
and executing their ideas; explore their strengths and their
leadership potential, as they implement water smart solutions.

HIGHLIGHTSAim and ObjectivesThe programme will engage youth for a three month fellowship programme with our partner organisations who are working in water resource management sector. The key objectives of the inaugural edition of the fellowship programme are as follows:
• Understanding India’s water concerns: Raise awareness and social consciousness on India’s pressing water concerns.
• Engaging with existing problems and solutions: See first-hand the problems and strategies to deal with the water exigency in the country.
• Evolving as aspiring young leaders: Develop leadership skills and innovations among youth in ideating for water smart solutions.
• Supporting partner organisations: Contribute positively in the partner organisation’s working processes on water related concerns.
• Implementing on-ground project: Execute the innovative ideas and solutions in consultation with the partner organisations where they have been placed in the Fellowship Programme.
Stipend
Stipend of Rs 10,000/- per Fellow

Inviting NGO Partnership
Prominent NGOs working in the field of environment with a special
focus on water concerns through its varied programmes i.e. research,
on-ground implementation of water-related solutions, advocacy,
awareness and outreach activities are invited as NGO Partners for
the C4Y-IWP Water Champions Youth Fellowship Programme 2019.
The NGO Partner is expected to play a pivotal role in mentoring and
providing exposure to Fellows on a diverse range of water issues. As
part of the programme. The fellow will spend three months working
as intern with the NGO partners.
Role of NGO Partners

• Provideassistanceandguidanceforexecutionoftheprojects.

TARGeTeD OuTReAcH
AND ImPAcTProgramme Design
• Mentoring and Orientation Workshops with Partner Organisations and Fellows for the Fellowship & Project briefing and for analysing the project’s progress.
• Meetings with Partner Organisation’s Mentorsinthefirstfortnighttosharethe project/ ideas for the Fellows to work on.
• Fellowship Progress and Final Reports to highlight the innovative solutions developed and implemented during the Fellowship and its impact.
• Concluding Meeting and Ceremony for demonstrating innovative solutions, sharing Fellow learning & experience andPartnerOrganisation’sMentorsexperiences, followed by awarding of certificates and stipend to Fellows.

NCR are invited to apply.
• Womencandidatesareespecially
encouraged for ensuring gender balance in
the fellowship programme.
• Studentshavingakeendesiretoshareideas
with others, to be challenged, to be inspired,
with a willingness to face obstacles and come
up with solutions for a way ahead may apply.
• Applicantspositivelydemonstratingtheir
capability to complete the assignment of
implementing water solutions during their
fellowship tenure, notwithstanding the
challenges, If any, are desired.

Selection Process
• Candidateswithkeeninterestinsocialand
developmental issues related to water,
willing to brainstorm on innovative ideas,
possessing or keen to develop leadership
roles, and good team workers will be
considered.
• Applicationswillbejointlyselectedbythe
Senior Management Committee (SMC) of
C4Y and IWP.
• Theshortlistedapplicantstobefinally
selected for the Fellowship based on a final
face-to-face interview.

THe ORGANISeRSINDIA WATER PARTNERSHIP (IWP):
India Water Partnership (IWP) is a non-profit
organisation, accredited with the Global
Water Partnership (GWP), Stockholm.
India Water Partenership is a country
water partnership of GWP. IWP works
towards water security in India by following
the concept of Integrated Water Resources
Management (IWRM). It engages in a
dispassionate analysis of various water related
issues and steers the policy discourse on social,
economic, and ecological issues on a scientific
basis. Thorough research, focused advocacy,
and effective implementation on the ground
inform the achievement of our goals. Towards

for Youth is a self-sustaining and not-for-
profit organisation working for the welfare
of the rural and urban youth. C4Y strives
