Engine Performance (Diesel Engines)
All rating conditions are based on SAE J1995,
inlet air standard conditions of 99 kPa
(29.31 in.Hg) dry barometer and 25C (77F)
temperature. Performance measured using a
standard fuel with fuel gravity of 35 API
having a lower heating value of 42,780 kJ/kg
(18,390 Btu/lb) when used at 29C (84.2F) with
a density of 838.9 g/L (7.009 lb/gal).

HEP Prime Power Definition and Guidelines:
All ratings shown and thermal ratings are
subject to manufacturing tolerances of plus or
minus 3 percent.
Typical Load Factor is the sum of the loads a
generator set experiences while it is running
under load divided by the number of hours
it operates under those loads. Extended
idling time and the time when the generator
set is not operating does not enter into the
calculation for load factor.
Average power output = 70% of prime power
rating.
Load = Varying.
Typical Hours/Year = Unlimited.
Typical Peak Demand = 100% of prime
rated ekW with 10% overload capability for
emergency use for a maximum of 1 hour in 12.
Overload operation cannot exceed 25 hours
per year.
