2. 60+ Staff & 420 apprentices
3. 11 class rooms / Office / Workshop.
4. Accommodation for 100 apprentices and trainees.

1. New intake recruited each July primarily from the SMK
(Technical High School system).
2. Streamed Early as Mechanical / Auto-Electrical / Welding.
3. 8 Week initial “off job training” block in Balikpapan.
4. 12-14 weeks placed in a Mining or Construction site
workshop.
5. Subsequent 5-8 Week training blocks in Balikpapan (10
blocks total over 4 years).
Program Structure
1. 100-150 points (well more than required to achieve Cert III).
2. Includes Additional Non-accredited elements such as:
1. English Language
2. Plant Management Systems
3. Safety Management Systems
4. Waste Management / Environmental Awareness
5. Supervisory Training
6. Equipment Specific Training and placements with suppliers.
