Bugs Around the World The basic principle of Bugs Around the World is to connect your students or classrooms with other students or classrooms by collaborating in a global project. They have the opportunity to explore bugs or insects native to their environment through illustrations or pictures in our show and tell. The project consists of an illustration or a photograph of a bug that is located locally and includes two facts about the bug. Bugs Around the World is a global project that includes students from ages 48 years old. This project builds bridges between diverse cultural groups within a community and outside their community. You can take this opportunity to enrich your curriculum by using the subject through crosscurriculum platforms of Science, Writing, Math and Technology. Writing and learning becomes easier and tends to be more creative when students can relate to subject. This is what teachers call an authentic literacy project.
