Introduction
Budapest Airport is in charge of managing, operating, and developing the main international airport of Hungary, the second largest airport in the new EU member states. The mission of Budapest Airport is to become the most successful airport in Central and Eastern Europe in terms of passenger growth, service quality, and operational efficiency up to 2015. The airport shall be the key driver of local economic growth for Budapest and for Hungary as a whole.The prospects are promising as air traffic will increase notably across the region. The number of passengers served at Budapest Airport reached 8.5 million in 2013. The cargo volume handled at the airport in the same period was over 90 000 tons. Budapest Airport has a great basis for further route development and great growth potential for both aviation and non-aviation businesses.The airport operator aims to strengthen its strong global position in the private airport market and to realize the great potential of the airport. With the help of active and fast business growth, the motivated management team will strengthen the position of the airport in the increasing competition.
Investment program
The company has already undertaken a significant investment program in order to expand its capacities by spending more than 300 million Euros (approximately 75 billion HUF) up to 2013. The most significant of these projects was the construction of SkyCourt, a new terminal building linking Terminals 2A and 2B which was opened in March 2011. The elegant, high-quality SkyCourt provides an unforgettable architectural and travel experience as well as a rich selection of shops and restaurants.The new terminal makes travelling through the airport simpler and more convenient, increasing throughput significantly.

The airport is easy to access by car from any point in Budapest and can be reached in 20 minutes from the city center via the Ferihegy Express Road. The airport is directly connected to main roads M0 and M4. A regular train service is operated between Budapest city center and the airport.

Wizz Headquarters
Wizz Air moved into a fully refurbished building with 150 employees in June 2011.
Integrator Buildings
The area next to Terminal 1 will host the integrator business at Budapest Airport with new, tailor-made buildings from 2015.
Simulator Building
Re-leasing the Flight Simulator building (approx. 2 000 sqm) after refurbishment by BUD. The Flight Simulator and Training
Center was opened in May 2013.
DHL Building
The building features 3 000 square meters of office space, 7 800 square meters of warehouse space, and 5 800 square meters
of maneuvering space.

BUD Office Center
On four levels, the building has floor space of 2 900 square meters in total. The renovated building was the first in the region to receive

Hungarian Post
The Hungarian Post moved into a tailor-made facility with 300 employees in July 2011.
Airport Business Park
The area between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 has great potential for property development. With convenient access to both terminals as well as the main access road to the airport, more than 500 000 square meters are
available for green-field development.

BUD Office Center
The office building is located between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2; its renovation was completed in May 2012. The building has a total floor space of 2 900 square meters on four levels. The renovated building was the first in the region to receive the BREEAM environmental rating. The current tenants of the building are Celebi Ground Handling Hungary Ltd. and Aeroplex of Central Europe Ltd.
Airport Business Park
On the southern edge of the airport and next to road M4, up to 500 000 square meters of land is available for developing a commercial Business Park which could host any future tenant from retail, logistics, warehousing, R&D centers, and offices. The conceptual design was initiated by Budapest Airport. The first phase foresees the construction of a business park with warehouse, office, and retail facilities. Third-party real estate developers are welcome to participate in this project.
DHL Building
The first facility of the new Airport Business Park of Budapest Airport was completed in July 2013. The building features 3 000 square meters of office space, 7 800 square meters of warehouse space, and 5 800 square meters of maneuvering space. Current tenants include Deutsche Post DHL air and sea freight division (DHL Global Forwarding) and its road transport service (DHL Freight).
Integrator Buildings
Budapest Airport has defined the former cargo area next to Terminal 1 as the future location for the integrator business. According to the master plan, several newly built facilities, tailor-made for integrator companies, are planned. The opening of the first building is scheduled for 2015.

BUD Cargo City
The first phase includes 11 000 square meters of warehouse space and 4 000 square meters of office space. Besides obvious operational and environmental advantages, the first phase of the future BUD Cargo City will reduce costs for new tenants due to the direct connection with the M0 ring road around Budapest and the South-Eastern main road M4. The timing of implementation of the first phase of the cargo development which can be completed after a 12-month construction period is under evaluation.
Airport Hotel
Budapest Airport has defined a hotel project in front of Terminal 2 within walking distance of the terminal. The design envisages up to 200 bedrooms in a 3- to 4-star hotel with conference facilities.
Wizz Air Headquarters
Wizz Air, the biggest discount airline of Central-Eastern Europe, moved to Budapest Airport in June 2011.The lease agreement on more than 2 000 square meters of office space was signed in October 2010. Based on the agreement, Budapest Airport reconstructed an existing office building into a modern facility with open-plan offices accommodating around 150 employees.
Simulator Building
Budapest Airport concluded an agreement for leasing the simulator building to Flight Simulation Company Kft, and the newly refurbished facility accommodating the Wizz Air Flight Simulator &Training Center was opened in May 2013.
Hungarian Post
Based on a 10-year lease agreement, Budapest Airport constructed a tailor-made distribution center for the Hungarian Post. The operation of the facility commenced in summer 2011, and it serves as the main international postal hub for Hungary and neighboring countries. The building features a warehouse on more than 3 000 square meters with state-of-the-art sorting technology and about 2 000 square meters of office space.
