The Cambium

The Cambium Range of saddles feature a hard-

wearing, waterproof and maintenance-free upper

made from strong, yet supple, vulcanised natural

rubber, completed with a layer of organic cotton canvas.

This revolutionary, uniquely flexible top is

suspended upon a lightweight frame of stainless steel

and aluminium to function much like a hammock,

following the movements of the rider and absorbing

shocks and vibrations to provide maximum comfort.

All saddles in the Cambium Range are ready to

be ridden straight out of their packaging for immediate

comfort, requiring neither initial care, a breaking-in

period, nor any further tensioning or maintenance.

The vulcanised rubber top is waterproof, extremely

robust, and practically indestructible – perfect for the

traveller and commuter who desire the most practical

and reliable saddle to accompany the journey of a

lifetime, or a lifetime of journeys.

Cambium Saddles are furthermore assembled

from replaceable parts whose maintenance does not

require any special tools. Should a Cambium Saddle

frame suffer damage due to accident, spare parts can

be readily obtained and repairs carried out with ease

by the owner or any Brooks ‘Dealer of Excellence’.

The C17, first of our newest generation of saddles,

achieves a racy and pared-down aesthetic, though it is

actually intended for touring cyclists and commuters.

In fact, its sporty appearance is attributable to the

design being closely modelled upon the geometry and

dimensions of our timeless and best-selling B17, and

likewise provides the same unsurpassed comfort for

many a mile.

The C17 S is the sister of the men’s C17,

slightly shorter in length overall and thereby more

suitable for a ladies anatomy. Other than the subtle

ergonomic differences, it is quite unchanged as

regards materials and construction. It owes its sleek

lines and proven geometry to those of its leather

forebear, the classic B17 S. The rubber and fabric

upper bestow a stylish contemporary look.

The C17 Carved is a variation of the C17, with

the addition of a specially shaped aperture akin to the

registered cutting of our Imperial Leather Saddles.

This section alleviates the perineal pressure which

some riders experience over longer distance rides.

The enhanced flexibility of the saddle upper is

comparable to the function of a shock absorbing seat

post, but without any change in the rider’s position,

The C15

nor mechanical complications.

The svelte C15 is the first Cambium model

specifically for racing bicycles. Narrow for pedaling

freedom and reduced weight, the C15 redefines

priorities, aiding performance by placing comfort

We are confident that the Cambium Saddles

The Barbican Leather is manufactured in England from the

same hardwearing leather used for Brooks Saddles. This bag

features an innovative shoulder strap which once adjusted to

the height and waist of the cyclist, the belt can be kept loose

to carry the bag over the shoulder. For increased stability

during the ride, the belt can be easily fastened around the

waist by simply pulling the two ends of the belt and locking

them at the centre in the ‘Sam Brown’ fashion.

The Piccadilly is a versatile knapsack that epitomises

Our new range of Moulded Leather Bags are produced in

the Brooks Saddle factory using the same machinery and

techniques employed to make the famous Brooks Leather

Saddles. These versatile bags can be worn on the bike,

the belt, or over the shoulder using the detachable canvas

and leather strap.

Patented in 1896, the Challenge is for fitment to

the rear of a saddle bearing bag loops. It features

buckles that are located within the hold itself.

Whilst fastening the bag, the strap that secures the

unit encircles the tools it carries, preventing them from

rattling during transit.

The new Challenge Large has much in common with its

predecessors, is made to the same exacting specifications

The D-Shaped was featured in Brooks catalogues as far

back as 1910. This innovative design features a two piece

construction which, whilst the outer sleeve remains

permanently attached to the saddle, has an inner purse

In 1910 John Boultbee Brooks filed two patents related

to improvements in satchels, knapsacks and the like.

Both patents guaranteed equal distribution of weight

and more stability of the bag whilst cycling. With this in

mind we developed our Barbican Shoulder Bag featuring

a shoulder belt which can be secured around the waist for

added stability.

The Paddington is based on our traditional best-selling

Barbican Shoulder Bag, with more compact proportions

and an updated flap design to offer improved protection

from the elements. Made in Italy from water resistant

The Brixton is a most versatile satchel, which can be easily

expanded to become a tote. It features a strap similar to that

Slender Leather Grips

Brooks Slender Leather Grips feature vegetable-tanned

leather tape, and are designed to offer an alternative

performance option for the user while maintaining

the standard for sustainability set by the Plump Grips,

allowing the user to replace worn parts if necessary. The

design incorporates an aluminium shell around which

the bar tape is wrapped in the manner of traditional

handlebar tape. The leather is then held in place by

aluminium and steel clamps which can be removed

in the event that the tape requires replacement.

The tape is made from vegetable tanned leather and

is available in a number of colours and two lengths,

Cambium Slender Grips

The design of Brooks Cambium Slender Grips incorporates

an aluminium shell around which the bar tape is wrapped

in the manner of traditional handlebar tape. The tape is

made from organic cotton and rubber and is held in place

by aluminium clamps which can be removed to replace the

tape if necessary.

Plump Leather Grips

Our grips are made of natural leather, the same long

wearing leather used for our saddle tops. Each grip is made

with a stack of leather washers cut from the scrap of our

saddle tops. These washers are held together by 3 spokes,

enabling the grip to be adjusted to the desired length.

The standard length of each grip is 130mm, but each grip

can be shortened to the desired length independently.

Inspired by the design of the 1937 mudguard flap, our new Mud Flap is made of the same leather cut from the remainder of our saddle

production. It is provided with 2 screw bolts to fix it to the fender.

In 1909, Mr Brooks and his son filed patent N°7709 for improvements in adjustable spanners in the form of a rather clever and simple solution for those cyclists in need of box spanners in a variety of sizes. Our new patent is an innovation upon the original, simplifying the design and saving weight. Spanner sizes from 1-19mm are possible by sliding the two pieces.

The smaller piece is also a functional tyre lever.

Brooks Twin Straps feature a removable connecting strip of leather, which allows them to be used as a double strap or as 2 single straps. They also feature the unique quick release buckle

designed in the 1930s.
