• A leader’s struggles of the past can form who this person has become and who they will be. The leader’s influences and dreams could help create the leader they have became.

• Tupac had a troubled life as a child. He had his certain dreams and inspirations. All of these things have made him the leader he is.

Tupac’s Troubled Life

• Tupac’s mother was pregnant with him while she was in jail for bombing charges. At the time, she didn’t know who her child’s real father was.

• His step-father, a Black Panther Activist, introduced his mother to crack and impregnated her with Tupac’s younger sister.

Tupac’s Troubled Life

• The fatherly figure in Tupac’s life was sentenced to 60 years for a fatal armour-car robbery (1981)

• Since his father was in prison, Tupac’s mother was forced to be a single mother.

• The Shakur family moved throughout many homeless shelters.

Tupac’s Inspiration

• After moving to Baltimore, Tupac’s mother enrolled him into the “Baltimore School of Arts.”

• Here, he dreamt of becoming a Shakespearean actor. He was involved in school plays and drama clubs offered.

• This all lead to his real talent being revealed after writing his first rap under “MC New York” in June 1986.

The Leader Tupac Became

• Tupac was considered a leader because he was brave enough to incorporate real life situations into his music despite the violence and harsh reality it contained.

• People respected Tupac for this because he took a risk, and expressed himself. People liked the idea of hearing music about struggles they can all relate to.

Touched By Many

• Tupac touched many people not only rap and hip-hop listeners, but also people outside of that. He influenced young adults, struggling individuals and people who generally just like that genre of music.

What Makes Tupac Different

• Through the art of rapping, young African Americans expressed their surroundings and situations they’re in along with their feelings and thoughts toward the problems.

• Now-a-days, these topics would include partying, drugs and getting women, but Tupac decided to step away from that and talk about something other artist rarely talked about.

Tupac’s Leadership

• In 1991, Tupac arose as a solo artist under the name 2Pac.

• “Brenda’s Got a Baby” was a track on his debut album that reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot Rap Singles chart.

• This is when he became famous and started his career and lead him on the road to becoming a leader and an inspiration to many.

Traits People Admired

• He had positive traits that people admired such as his outstanding acting skills and his good musical skills.

• People also admired him for some negative things too such as how he added violence into his songs despite the fact they meant something more than violence.

The Death of Tupac

• Tupac’s troubled life contributed to his leadership by providing ideas to his music.

• He touched people when talked about his past and the struggles he has been through.

• Sadly, Lesane Parish Crooks passed away on September 13th, 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

• To this day, he still inspires people. His albums are still selling.

• Cause of Death: Cardiac Arrest; Respiratory Failure.
