Decision Making Process
 Build a Bot that can Carry Out its Mission
 Score More Points from Previous Year
 Cause Havoc to the Opponent
 Have Fun
Goals stayed the same over the weeks. Only the strategy
changed due to bot failure and running out of time.
Division of Labor We were failing miserably. Where do we start?
Help! Mr. Al to the rescue! He arranged for us
to have a meeting with an “Agile
Management” expert.
Write each task on a “stickie” and assign it a
due date
Need a break? Take pictures, Check the FAQ,
Build Paper airplanes, Fill out the survey,
review rubric to see if we missed anything.

Conflict Resolution
There is always an opportunity to have conflict when many people are trying to
accomplish a project. We tried to work out our own differences . Sometimes we would
take a vote. If we still had no resolution our mentor Mr. Al, would step in and remind us to
look at the “Agile Management “ board and to work for the good of the project.
Mechanical Design
Overview of Robot’s
Mechanical Systems
 The Havoc
Wheel
for
balance
The Drive
Servo
The Arm
Explain how mechanical design supports Effector :
 It is supported by a frame which is hooked up
to another frame which is hooked up to the
robot
Explain how mechanical design supports sensors
We only used the light sensor and it currently is supported by the claw frame
Sample Code For Havoc
void Dropping_AirplaneR( )
{
printf("Dropping airplane");
drive_forward(62);
Turn_leftpos(-90);
drive_forward(5);
Open_claw(10);
}
Elegant Solution
Arm Flings
Out
Rubber bands keep the arm compact to fit in the start box. Hopefully will cause Havoc by flinging open (Instant barrier)
Havoc’s Success Chart
 Havoc mission is going to the runway and
dropping airplanes.
Problems with design?
 The design turned out to be too heavy. The
wheels were bowing out and causing it to not
drive straight. We changed the wheels many
times and adjusted the width of the base for
balance.
How was code tested on the sub
unit?Tested the motor individually to see if the claw
would open .
