Hundred years of ship historym/s J.L. Runeberg (original name s/s Helsingfors Skärgård, or“Helsinki Archipelago”) was built in 1912 and has been used forpassenger traffic ever since – for more than 100 years!

The original route was between Helsinki and Porkkala, but todaythe ship cruises from Helsinki to Porvoo and Loviisa. Our Summerharbour is Linnanlaituri quay, by the Market Square in Helsinki. Every winter whilst being stored amidst the frozen ice of the Porvoo River, this unique ship is maintained and restored by its enthusiastic owners.

Loviisa cruises

Enjoy the idyllic summer town of Loviisa and the archipelagoeast of Porvoo any Thursday in July 2018. Loviisa is known forthe Svartholm sea fortress dating back to the 1700s, the uniquewooden town houses and the city center built in the 1800s. Thecozy marina, Laivasilta, by the old salt sheds welcomes you tothe city of Loviisa.

Welcome on a day trip to Porvoo!

The traditional cruise with m/s J.L. Runeberg takes you fromHelsinki through the enchanting archipelago to Porvoo, Finland’ssecond oldest town! Departure at 10.00 from the Linnanlaituriquay in Helsinki and the one-way trip takes approx. 3,5 hours. InPorvoo you have 2,5 hours to spend in the charming old town.
