This meeting is being held in conformity to the Open Public Meetings Act N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et. seq. Properpublic notice of the meeting was published in the local papers on January 7, 2012 and January 8, 2012.
If any Board member or member of the public in attendance believes that the meeting is in violation ofthe Open Public Meetings Act, the Hoboken Board of Education requests that they make a statement atthis time.
The Board wishes to make those in attendance aware that this meeting is being recorded on video and willbe broadcast by the Board at a later date on CATV Channel 77.

SUBJECT: ESTABLISHMENT OF EMERGENCY AT BRANDT SCHOOL
RESOLVED, that the Hoboken Board of Education ratifies the declaration of an emergency by theInterim Business Administrator due to structural issues with the facade of the Brandt School effecting thehealth and safety of the Hoboken community, in accordance with the N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-7, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board approves the award of an emergency contract with T&MContracting Company Inc. of Hoboken, New Jersey in an estimated amount of $58,000, to includeemergency installation of the protective sidewalk bridge (erecting, dismantling, lights, rental of materials)and the determination of the extent of the problem in concert with the architect to determine thespecifications for repair (includes the cost of the equipment to complete the site analysis); and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board approves an additional amount not to exceed $5,000 forthe districts architect, Mount Vernon Group of Newark, NJ, for site visits and to provide the district asolution to the problems; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Interim Business Administrator be authorized to submit thedeclaration of emergency to the Executive County Superintendent for approval.
