SHERBURNE-EARLVILLE CENTRAL SCHOOL REGULAR BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING – August 24, 2015

BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Thomas Caton, Susan Osborne, Michael Khoury Annette Bagnall-Graham, Michael Ulrich BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: Thomas Morris, Gregory Parker The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. in the Elementary Library Classroom by Thomas Morris, President, with the following in attendance: Eric Schnabl, Superintendent; Todd Griffin, Assistant Superintendent; S-E staff members. Thomas Caton led the Pledge to the Flag. PUBLIC QUESTION AND ANSWER PERIOD – None EXECUTIVE SESSION On motion made by Susan Osborne, seconded by Annette Bagnall-Graham, and carried by members present, the Board moved into Executive Session at 6:32 p.m. to discuss Personnel. On motion made by Susan Osborne, seconded by Annette Bagnall-Graham, and carried by members present, the Board reconvened into regular session at 6:54 p.m. INFORMATIONAL REPORTS Kim Corcoran and Valerie Harlost gave a presentation on Cafeteria Finances. Eric Schnabl discussed the new APPR regulations regarding Probation and Tenure, and presented a resolution to update the policy. On motion made by Michael Khoury, seconded by Susan Osborne, and carried by members present, the Board accepted the Tenure and Probation Policy Revision and Adoption. AGENDA MODIFICATIONS A Personnel Appointments Addendum was added to the Consent Agenda. MINUTES – Minutes of the meeting held on August 10, 2015, were presented for approval. On motion made by Susan Osborne, seconded by Annette Bagnall-Graham, and carried by members present, the Minutes were approved as presented. CORRESPONDENCE- none CONSENT AGENDA Susan Osborne, abstained from voting on the Substitute Teacher List. On motion made by Michael Khoury, seconded by Michael Ulrich, and carried by members present, the consent agenda was approved as modified. I am writing to inform you about my decision to resign from the position as a Middle School Math Teacher from Sherburne-Earlville School District. Please consider this a formal 30-day notice.

I cannot continue at this point due to my inability to relocate. Had I another choice, I wouldn’t have left but must.

Melissa Tackabury will be joining the middle school faculty to teach Math 8, Algebra 1, and Fast Lane Math. Melissa has a BA in Mathematics from Mount Saint Mary College and a Master's of Education from the University of New England. From 2010-2015 Melissa taught a variety of middle and high school math classes at Madison Central School District, including Math 7, Math 8, Algebra II and AIS.
