The new Blyth Academy in Florence will reflect the values of Blyth International Schools: a safe, accessible, experiential and progressive learning experience which engages students in their secondary school studies and prepares them for success in life.

They study. Blyth Academy Florence offers the Alberta curriculum for Grade 10, 11 and 12. Advanced Placement courses and SAT preparation are available upon the request. Blyth Academy Florence is also delighted to offer unique work experience courses in fashion, design and the visual arts. In these work experience courses, students are placed in local companies, many of which are sector leaders.

As part of our experiential education approach, all students will benefit from our partnerships with local museums and art galleries. Grade 10 students will also be offered courses to study Italian.

Florence is the home of the Renaissance and the epicenter of Italy’s geography, culture and politics. From the Ponte Vecchio and Michelangelo’s David, to the Uffizi Gallery and the Palazzo Vecchio, Florence is one of the world’s great treasure chests of creative excellence—an ideal place to bring learning to life.

They live and dine. Students are accommodated in comfortable residences that are close to classrooms, public transit and local shops. These accommodations mirror our commitment to small class size, hosting 12-14 students each with a live-in supervisor. Each residence has its own kitchen, common room and laundry facilities.

Breakfast and dinner will be provided, leaving the opportunity to explore Florence and purchase lunch locally.

They get a rare chance to explore. Really explore. It’s been said that all roads lead from Florence. Students can enjoy weekends at Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast, Naples and Rome. They can take Day Trips to Pisa, Siena, Venice or Milan. Everything is arranged so your child can experience the best that Italy has to offer.

They get the best chance for their choice of post-secondary education. Last year we placed 98% of our students in the colleges and universities of their choice. Blyth Academy Florence will also offer the same comprehensive academic counseling to students and their parents. During the holidays they will also have access to our guidance staff at Blyth Academy schools in Canada and the U.S.

Step 3: Application and PaymentWhen you are ready you apply online or download an application form and submit via fax to 416-960-9506 or mail to: Blyth Academy, 146 Yorkville Avenue, Toronto, Ontario M5R 1C2. A deposit payment is required to process your application.

The application form asks you to choose your term or terms and courses, and to complete the contact details for both the parents/guardians and student. Once your application is processed, you will receive an e-mail confirmation your enrollment and outlining next steps regarding the Personal Information Form.

Step 4: Personal Information FormThis form will be provided in the confirmation e-mail sent immediately after you register. This form will request important information such as a copy of your passport, dietary and medical information, a signed media waiver, any roommate and classmate requests, and proof of applicable prerequisites. You can also note personal requests and concerns.
