Before Using Dosing System The STERIS Acu-sInQ Chemical Dosing System (Figure 1) is a dispensing system used to transfer precise amounts of presoak chemicals into a prewash sink. This chemical dosing system uses an electronically controlled peristaltic pump to dispense Prolystica ® Enzymatic Presoak and Cleaner. Multiple dosing levels can be programmed to meet specific soil conditions for full and half sink levels providing optimal cleaning results prior to automated decontamination steps. The system is comprised of main control/ pump unit, water temperature monitor, chemical supply line with weight and filter, chemical discharge line with check valve and attaching hardware. System is not for use in potentially explosive environments. Before using this dosing system, ensure proper installation as follows (Figure 2): NOTE: Refer to Equipment Drawing (P129390-586) for proper installation. 1. Ensure system is mounted within 6’ (1.8 m) of 115 Vac outlet and cord runs above sink level. Extension cord or multi-outlet power strip not recommended by STERIS. 2. Verify system is mounted no more than 4’ (1.2 m) above floor and within 10’ (3 m) of Prolystica Enzymatic Presoak container. 3. Ensure system is mounted to hard, flat, level surface. 4. Verify system is mounted within reach of operators and 4-6" (102- 152 mm) above sink. 5. Check chemical dispense hose and temperature sensor and ensure they are routed to back of sink ending near sink bottom. 6. Verify chemical suction hose with weight is routed to Prolystica Enzymatic Presoak and Cleaner container. Figure 1. The STERIS Acu-sInQ Chemical Dosing System (Figure 1) is a dispensingsystem used to transfer precise amounts of presoak chemicals into aprewash sink. This chemical dosing system uses an electronically controlledperistaltic pump to dispense Prolystica® Enzymatic Presoak and Cleaner.Multiple dosing levels can be programmed to meet specific soil conditionsfor full and half sink levels providing optimal cleaning results prior toautomated decontamination steps. The system is comprised of main control/pump unit, water temperature monitor, chemical supply line with weight andfilter, chemical discharge line with check valve and attaching hardware.System is not for use in potentially explosive environments.

Before using this dosing system, ensure proper installation as follows(Figure 2):

NOTE: Refer to Equipment Drawing (P129390-586) for proper installation.

1. Ensure system is mounted within 6’ (1.8 m) of 115 Vac outlet and cordruns above sink level. Extension cord or multi-outlet power strip notrecommended by STERIS.

2. Verify system is mounted no more than 4’ (1.2 m) above floor and within10’ (3 m) of Prolystica Enzymatic Presoak container.

3. Ensure system is mounted to hard, flat, level surface.

4. Verify system is mounted within reach of operators and 4-6" (102-152 mm) above sink.

5. Check chemical dispense hose and temperature sensor and ensurethey are routed to back of sink ending near sink bottom.

6. Verify chemical suction hose with weight is routed to ProlysticaEnzymatic Presoak and Cleaner container.

Replacing ChemicalLines

When the STERIS Acu-sInQ Chemical Dosing System chemical lines needreplaced, proceed as follows:

NOTE: For the STERIS Acu-sInQ Chemical Dosing System, note thefollowing:

1) The Item numbers (#x) listed refer to Items presented in Table 2.

2) On average, Pump Tubes (#7) should be replaced every 12 months. Also, lubricate the Pump Tube every 90 days using KTL-20 Tube Lube (#31) Only.

1. For Chemical Suction Hose or Pump Tube (Figure 4):

a. Take roll of vinyl chemical hose (#39, pump tube) and connect one end to peristaltic pump (over plastic barb fitting, #32).

b. Secure this hose to plastic barb fitting using supplied or existing hose clamps (#33 and #34).

c. Cut hose to desired length.

d. Slide ceramic hose weight (#29) onto other end of vinyl hose followed by foot screen (#30).

e. Secure foot screen in place with plastic tie (#36).

f. Place suction end of vinyl hose into Prolystica Enzymatic Presoak and Cleaner container ensuring hose goes all the way to the bottom (see Figure 2).

Figure 4. Connect Pump Hose

2. For Chemical Dispense Hose (Figure 5):

a. Take roll of vinyl chemical hose (#39, discharge tube) and connect one end to peristaltic pump discharge (over plastic barb fitting, #32).

b. Secure this hose to plastic barb fitting (#32) using supplied or existing hose clamp (#33 and #34).

c. Cut discharge hose to length that is 2-3" (51-76 mm) below "half sink" or 4-6" (102-152 mm) below pump (see Figure 2).

d. Install check valve (#38) with arrow pointing toward sink and fasten using zip tie (#36).

e. Run temperature sensor (#20) along discharge hose and fasten to hose every 3-4" (76-102 mm) using zip ties (#36).

f. Mount vinyl suction cup (#35) to back vertical side of sink and fasten discharge hose/sensor (#20) to suction cup using zip ties (#36).

WARNING – CHEMICAL BURN AND/OR EYE INJURY HAZARD: Detergents are caustic and can cause adverse effects to exposed tissues. Do not get in eyes, on skin or attempt to ingest by mouth.• Read and follow

precautions and instructions on detergent label and in Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) prior to handling chemical, refilling chemical containers or servicing chemical injection pumps and lines.
