JANUARY DONE & DUSTED WITH JUNIOR EXPLOSIONThe Banstead TaeKwon-Do class for Juniors has exploded! We’ve had a lot of new people attending the classes and having great fun and learning some great skills.
January 2011 - what a great month for training:
January has been superb, new people have started in all
classes & the juniors on Wednesday has exploded with many
more enjoying what Banstead TaeKwon-Do has to offer. It’s
fantastic to have a great atmosphere in the classes, it certainly
helps everyone train to their full potential.
I want to inspire each student to set some physical fitness and
mobility goals for this year and I will start a Splits Gallery on the
main web site with prizes for the most improved.
Grab the Bull (or kettlebell!) by the Horns, train hard in class,
train to get fitter, to kick higher, to punch harder, to spar better,
to get more flexible, to jump higher and to be a good member
of the community.

TaeKwon-Do, Physical Fitness, Good Habits...
I started TaeKwon-Do when I was almost
21 years old. TKD gave me a real focus, I
found it interesting, technical & inspiring &
that’s probably why I’ve stuck with the
activity for now almost 17 years.
Part of my goal for Banstead TaeKwon-
Do is to help others discover the benefits of
being consistently physically & mentally
active. Classes are meant to inspire people
to have clear physical training goals,
discover how to achieve them, & take steps
to get there. They’re meant to help people
develop healthy exercises habits, right from
the Tiny TKD’ers through to the Senior
TaeKwon-Do.
As well as a TaeKwon-Do Instructor I am
also an qualified fitness professional through
the IKFF (www.ikff.net) and an official 100
Rep Challenge (www.100repchallenge.com)
representative...sooooo....
...calling everyone...
So, I’d like to call on everyone to fit
some physical exercise in to every single
day. It doesn’t take much to fit in a small
amount of exercise, just a few minutes here
and there and it could be any type of exercise.
Obviously for those needing to improve certain aspects of their TKD
then something focussed on that area would be a good idea, but on other
days there’s also nothing like a good lot of press ups to help yourself feel
good.
I’d like to get as many people as possible (that includes parents of Tiny’s
and Juniors) doing a little exercise every single day. Can I have a show of
hands please who’d be interested in attending a short presentation or
workshop to hear more about this?

KETTLEBELL WORKSHOP L1In my role as educator again and IKFF Certified Kettlebell
Teacher I ran a small Kettlebell basics workshop for a group of
TaeKwon-Do instructors, students and MMA enthusiasts on
January 22nd.
The 3 hour workshop was focussed on how to use
kettlebells safely for improving physical fitness and how to stay
relaxed when under pressure.
It was certainly a full on workshop but I am pleased to say
that technique at the end of the session was very high and the
participants safe to use this compact training aid in their own
environment.
TKD training offers so much for physical training and I use
KB’s to help where equipment free training has a few gaps. If
you’re interested in knowing more about using kettlebells and
your own body to improve your training please let me know.
