We know how important it is for our guests to contribute to a more sustainable lifestyle. This is the reason why Scandic has been consciously tackling environmental issues since 1994. So far that has led to Swan ecolabelled hotels, organic breakfasts, sustainable meetings and minimal use of chemicals as well as carbon dioxide emissions that are lower than the average home.

Sustainability is the watchword for everything included in your meeting with us. A conscious meeting is largely about the respectful use of resources. This means that we source ecolabelled meeting material such as Swan ecolabelled pens and paper and washable board erasers. We serve chilled and fi ltered water instead of bottled mineral water.

There is a lot you can do to make your meeting even more sustainable. Go to scandichotels.com/meeting to download a list of tips. Here you will also fi nd our handy calculator, Scandic Sustainability Live Report. Use it to measure how much you can save the environment by holding your meeting at Scandic. Not only will the results be a good motivator for you and your colleagues, it can also be used for your company’s environment reports.

Hotels for allWe want everyone to be able to enjoy their stay with us. We are therefore improving accessibility, not least through our 93-point accessibility programme. Everything on the buffet must be within reach of people in wheelchairs and with signs on the buffet that allergy sufferers have nothing to worry about. If you have impaired hearing, you can borrow our vibrating alarm clock. We can also place a hearing loop in the meeting room.

Safety fi rstSafety is an integral part of our daily work. This may not always be apparent on the surface, but you’d soon notice it if some-thing were to happen. Training, preventive measures and common sense are all a part of our safety programme. In all meeting and conference rooms, you will fi nd safety informa-tion on the start up image of the LCD projector and on your notepad. There is also an evacuation procedure sign in all meeting rooms.

Enjoy your stay and stay well.There are always healthy options available, both with regard to refreshment buffets and on the restaurant menu. At most of our hotels you will fi nd a well-equipped gym. We also have bicycles for guests to borrow and different workout possibilites. We want everyone to feel good.

When you come to us, you know that you are expected and that we are prepared. You can concentrate on the people around you, the content of the meeting and what you want to achieve. Before every conference, we will have checked that the technical equipment works properly and we will explain it to you when you arrive.

All meeting rooms at Scandic have free wired and wireless Internet access. If you would like an LCD projector, DVD/CD, TV/video and OH projector, just let us know when you make your booking – they are free of charge when you book in advance. All Scandic hotels have a workstation with a desktop computer and printer that you can use.

Think Tank roomsWhen you want a more creative and fl exible meeting environment, our Think Tank rooms are an effective alternative. They are ideal for all types of small meetings and encourage new thinking. Scandic has developed Think Tank rooms together with students from Konstfack (the University College of Arts, Craft and Design) in Stockholm and SIS Ecolabelling.

Holding a meeting in a Think Tank allows you to change the room around during the day. The conference table can be divided up and the Edgar chair is also easy to move as well as being ergo nomically designed for comfort with several different positions.

Take the opportunity to boost the meeting with sound and light. Project a seascape and start the day to the sound of waves or surround yourself with forest and birdsong. The rooms vary in appearance at all our hotels. They have different features such as an aquarium or plants to create harmony.
