The safe place for all to grow in friendship, body and mind within the foundations of the
Christian faith.
Well we’ve finally made it to the end of what has been a very long (although in many ways it seems to
have gone very quickly) but highly productive term. Just a quick look back through some of the 15(!)
newsletters I have written this term gives a lovely insight into just how much work has gone into
providing the children with fantastic learning experiences. As we look towards 2015 our aim at St
Oswald’s is to keep developing the quality of education and care we provide and it promises to be
another great year. We would like to thank all you, as parents for the support you have given the school
over the year – we couldn’t do it if we didn’t work together.
All that remains left for me to do is to, on behalf of myself and all the school staff, wish all our
families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
EASY FUNDRAISING TOTAL - £399!!!!!!!!
WELL DONE AND THANK YOU
Christmas Parties
All the children enjoyed a super Christmas party this week and many thanks to the staff for the
organisation they put into these.
Christmas Dinner
Mrs Hanna cooked a lovely Christmas dinner for the children this week which was enjoyed by all. Our
thanks go to Mrs Hanna for her wonderful meals which she prepares all through the school year.
Fundraising for Reverse Rett
Our fundraising for Reverse Rett, our chosen charity this Christmas has raised an amazing £522.25
including donations from the Christmas performances, donations from staff and others as well as £183.47
raised by the choir singing at M&S. Here you can see some picture of the choir performing at M&S this
week where once again they produced a performance for us to be proud of. Also pictured with the choir
is Ciara Fowler, brother of Michael in Year 4.
Bag Packing
The Hummingbirds bag packing at Marks and Spencers at Cheshire Oaks raised an incredible £472.99 for
the PTA as well as the same amount for the M&S Leukaemia and Lymphona charity. Well done to the
Hummingbirds children and the parents who came along to help out. There were a number of really lovely
comments from members of the public about the conduct of our children.
Morning Whistle
Just a reminder to all parents to move away from the children’s lines in the morning when the whistle
blows. Also to inform you that in January the Robins class will no longer be lining up on the playground
in the morning. The Robins parents have been informed of the new arrangements but the system stays
the same for all other classes.
Diary dates for first two weeks back:
• Monday 5 January – School reopens
• Thursday 8 January – Whole school visit to the pantomime
• Monday 13 January – After school clubs start this week
• Thursday 15 January – PTA meeting in school 7pm
