Learn about the culture of Charleston and explore unique aspects of the Lowcountry region through experiential learning activities and community excursion in these two courses. Students gain in-depth knowledge of Southern culture, history and language while discovering many beautiful Charleston landmarks and special events. Students interact directly in American life by participating in community-based learning projects inside and outside the classroom. Note: Each of these courses satisfies 30 hours of the requirements for au pairs. Registration fee includes admission for events but does not include food or housing. Exploring Lowcountry Nature and Wildlife $325 Stroll with us around historic Charleston and enjoy the natural beauty of our gardens and wildlife during the Southeastern Wildlife “SEWE” Exposition. Topics include, but are not limited to Lowcountry cuisine, South Carolina wildlife and nature, local art, crafts and festivals. Class meets Feb. 12-14 at various times and locations. First class meeting is on Friday, Feb. 12 at 4p.m. at the TTC Palmer Campus, downtown Charleston, Room 137. Register using course code: XHOS 502-Z01; registration deadline is Jan. 22.
