MEDIA INFORMATION NEARING 500Catawba needs five wins entering this season to reach #500 in school history. The Catawba Indians have averaged 5.2 wins each year over the previous 95 years. Since 1995, Catawba has averaged 7.25 per campaign.

HOME SWEET HOMEAfter a 2014 season that saw the Indians play just four home games, Catawba has six games at Shuford Stadium in 2015. The Indians snapped a two-game streak of losses when starting the season at home in 2013 with a 10-9 victory over West Liberty.

ON THE ROADCatawba will travel 688 miles for its five road games in 2015. The longest trip for the Indians will be a week three journey to Carson-Newman at 219 miles. The shortest travel will be a 35 mile jaunt to Davidson for game number two of the season.

SIXTH IN PRESEASONComing off of its 6-5 season a year ago, Catawba was picked fourth in the 2015 South Atlantic Conference Coaches’ Preseason Poll. The Indians garnered 37 points in the poll. Catawba finished in a tie for fourth in the standings last year with Wingate, Newberry and Mars Hill at 3-4 in the SAC.Defending champion Lenoir-Rhyne received six first-place votes to top the poll as the favorite. Carson-Newman, who Catawba will face in its league opner on Sept. 19, earned the other two first-place votes and is second in the poll. Newberry edge out Catawba by two points for third. Catawba was picked ahead of Tusculum. Mars Hill, Wingate and Brevard.

FOUR NAMED TO PRESEASON ALL-SAC TEAMSCatawba put nine players on the All-South Atlantic Conference Preseason Football Teams. The Catawba Indians had a pair of first team picks in Carlos Tarrats and Mark McDaniel. Mike Sheehan, David Burgess, Lewis McCormick, Chad Hollandsworth, Jamel Lackey and Caleb Berry earned second team honors.Tarrats, a jumior wide out, led the team with 39 catches and seven touchdowns. McDaniel, a senior cornerback, had a team-high five interceptions a year ago.Sheehan, a junior quarterback, headlines the second team picks. He led the league in passing last year, throwing for 2,273 yards and 17 touchdowns. Sheehan also ran for 10 scores. Burgess, a junior, led the team with 577 yards rushing and scored five touchdowns.McCormick,a senior lineman, is a four-year starter at tackle. Lackey, a junior linebacker, posted 63 tackles a year ago. Ten of his tackles went for losses and he also returned on inteception for a score.Hollandsworth, a senior, accounted for 60 points last season. He was perfect on 39 PAT tries and connected on seven field goals with three coming from 40+ yards. Berry, a sophomore, averaged 38 yards per punt last year, but will sit out this season.

CURTIS WALKERHead Coach

Curtis Walker became the Head Football Coach at Catawba in December of 2012. He returned to his alma mater after spending one season as the defensive coordinator and linebacker coach at Western Carolina University. Prior to his year in Cullowhee, Walker spent 10 years as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Coastal Carolina University. During Walker’s 10 seasons in Conway, the Chanticleers had four players on the defensive side garner All-America accolades, while players within his defense earned a combined

44 All-Big South accolades as the Chanticleers captured three straight Big South Conference titles (2004-06). Coastal also won the league championship in 2010. Under Walker, Coastal led the league in pass defense in 2006, ‘07 and `08. On the strength of 18 interceptions in `07, the Chanticleers ranked sixth nationally in turnover margin (1.36). In 2006, Coastal’s defense tied for the national lead with 19 interceptions. Walker’s defense led the nation in pass efficiency defense and contributed to the top turnover margin in the country, setting a Big South record at plus 22. Coastal twice led the nation in interceptions, getting 19 in 2006 and 27 in 2004. Walker was a four-year starter and three-time All-American linebacker for Catawba in 1989-92, graduating in 1992 with a degree in sociology. He was inducted into the Catawba Sports Hall of Fame in 2004 and into the South Atlantic Conference Hall of Fame in 2008. Walker was Catawba’s team most valuable player in 1991 and served as team captain in 1992. Walker still holds the Catawba single game record for tackles with 25 stops against Wofford in 1991. He also still owns the all-time single season record for fumble recoveries with six, also set in 1991. Walker earned All-America honors his final three seasons, including first team accolades as a senior in 1992. Following graduation from Catawba and a two-year coaching period at Salisbury High School, Walker joined the staff at Catawba in 1995. He coached the linebackers and began coordinating all recruiting in 1997. Walker was promoted to defensive coordinator in 2001 and the Indians were ranked first in Division II in scoring defense and 15th in total defense. At Catawba, Walker was a part of three South Atlantic Conference championships (1996, 2000 and 2001) and three NCAA playoff appearances (1999, 2000 and 2001). The Indians were a combined 22-3 in 2000-01, a lot of the success due to a suffocating defense. Catawba allowed just 13.5 points per game during those 25 games. A native of Burlington, NC, Walker was a two-time football all-conference performer at Graham High School, prior to graduating in 1988. He was the Mid-State Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 1987. Walker and his wife, Sheka, have two sons; Jalon (11) and Curtis II (9).

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: The Catawba College coaching staff have named their team Players of the Week following the West Georgia game. OFFENSE: None were named. DEFENSE: Sophomore linebacker Kyle Kitchens (Decatur, Ga./Decatur HS), who was in on seven tackles with three going for losses, including a sack. He also caused a fumble and recovered two. SPECIAL TEAMS: Junior linebacker R.J. Beaty (Spartanburg, S.C./Boiling Springs HS) and senior kicker Chad Hollandsworth (Kernersville, N.C./E. Forsyth HS) shared the honor. Beaty recorded four tackles, including one for a loss. He had one big hit on a kickoff return and was also in on a negative run after a bad snap on a punt. Hollandsworth kicked a pair of field goals and averaged 40.2 yards over eight punts with a long of 55 and two downed inside the opponent 20-yard-line.

CATAWBA’s LAST GAME: NCAA II fourth-ranked West Georgia scored 28 unanswered points in the second half to claim an opening 44-13 win over host Catawba on Saturday afternoon at Shuford Stadium and Kirkland Field. The Wolves overcame five turnovers in the win, forcing four and holding the Catawba Indians to just 145 total yards. Quarterback Dallas Dickey was nearly perfect for West Georgia, completing 15-of-17 passes for 204 yards and a pair of scores. He also ran for a touchdown. Aares McCall eclipsed the 100-yard mark on the ground with 107 yards on 11 carries. Dickey threw both of his touchdown strikes in the third quarter to help the Wolves break away from a 16-13 lead at the half. His first strike went for 47 yards to Qa Walker and the second went to Shaq Hall for 29 yards to push the margin to 30-13 midway through the period. West Georgia tacked on two fourth-quarter scores for the final margin. Cary Littlejohn produced the lone Catawba touchdown with a five-yard run late in the second quarter to pull the Indians within 16-13. He finished with 57 yards on the ground. Bruce Smith caught three passes for 22 yards. Kyle Kitchens had a big day on defense for Catawba. He was in on seven tackles with three going for losses, including a sack. He would force two fumbles and recover one. The Wolves scored on their opening drive as Dickey ran in from 10 yards. West Georgia looked poised to go up by two scores, but Kitchens forced a fumble at the Catawba 36. The Indians were able to capitalize with a 25-yard field goal from Chad Hollandsworth to cut the deficit to 8-3. A sack and forced fumble by Jamal Lackey led to a second Hollandsworth field goal late in the first quarter to make it 8-6. Catawba forced another fumble late in the first quarter, but the Indians failed to benefit from the miscue and Telvin Brown followed with a 66-yard punt return to put the Wolves up 16-6 after a second two-point conversion. Littlejohn would get the last points for Catawba with 4:21 left in the half.

TOUGH SCHEDULE AWAITS IN 2015 Half of Catawba’s 10 NCAA II opponents earned votes in the AFCA preseason coaches poll. Two of the opponents, West Georgia and Lenoir-Rhyne, begin the year in the top 10. West Georgia is fourth ranked and will be the highest ranked opponent has faced in a season opener. It also will mark the second straight top five opponent for the Indians after closing out last year against third-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne. Lenoir-Rhyne is the other ranked team on the schedule, coming in at #10. Receiving votes in the poll were Carson-Newman, UNC Pembroke and Newberry.

IT’S ALL IN A NAME Catawba and West Georgia are facing off for just the second time, but the first as the West Georgia Wolves. When the teams met during the playoffs in 2000 the Catawba Indians were facing the West Georgia Braves. West Georgia changed its nickname in 2006.

WALKER 1-0 IN OT GAMES The overtime win over Newberry was the first time Catawba has went to extra periods under Curtis Walker. The win snapped a string of three stright overtimes losses dating back to 2005 which started with a double-overtime loss to Newberry. Catawba is now 4-6 all-time in overtime games.

LITTLEJOHN SLIDES UP RUSHING LIST Catawba senior Cary Littlejohn moved up to 29th on Catawba’s all-time rushing list with his 57 yards against West Georgia. He needs just over 100 yards to move into the 25th spot. BURGESS CLOSING IN ON 1,000 Junior David Burgess is 27 yards short of 1,000 yards for his career. He would become the 37th player at Catawba to reach the plateau. Burgess suffered a game-one injury and will be out of action until at least October. TARRATS EYES 100 CATCHES Junior wide out Carlos Tarrats is out to become the 16th Catawba receiver to snag 100 receptions in a career. He currently stands 19th with 85 catches in just over two seasons.

DAVIDSON -- Catawba knocked off host Davidson 35-7 to win its football opener at Richardson Field. Mike Sheehan completed all but one pass, totaling 174 yards with three touchdowns. Davidson looked to have some momentum early. The Wildcats drove deep into Catawba territory on their first possession, but were stopped on downs. Davidson was set up again by an Indian fumble at midfield only to see the game turn when Jamal Lackey intercepted a second-down pass and raced 67 yards for the game’s first score. Sheehan threw touchdown passes on Catawba’s next two possessions. The first went to freshman Keyon West, who made a diving catch in the end zone to complete the 30-yard score. Sheehan’s second scoring strike went to Carlos Tarrats on a fourth-down play that covered 31 yards. Catawba fumbled deep in Davidson territory on its next drive, but Terence Williams intercepted a Wildcat pass to get the offense back on the field. Sheehan drove the unit down the field once again and capped the 69-yard drive with a 22-yard pass to Tyler Hamilton. Catawba led 28-0 at the half and outgained Davidson 330 to 102 in the opening 30 minutes. The Indians capped their scoring early in the second half. Sheehan delivered a 40-yard pass to Cary Littlejohn to jump-start the drive. David Burgess followed with runs of 27 and eight yards to put the points on the board. Davidson averted the shutout midway through the fourth quarter on a one-yard run by David Rogers. Sheehan went 12-of-13 through the air for 174 yards and the three scores. He also added another 56 yards on the ground. The Indians gained 305 yards rushing with Trey Mashore leading the way with 78 yards on eight carries. In addition to his interception, Lackey also posted three tackles for losses to lead the defense. Jason Taylor had two stops for losses among his six tackles on the night. J.P. Douglas had 117 yards passing for Davidson, completing 19-of-29 passes with the two interceptions. Rogers ran for a team-high 38 yards, while Cam Cheuvront hauled in seven passes for 53 yards. 2015 GAME RECAPS

SALISBURY -- NCAA II fourth-ranked West Georgia scored 28 unanswered points in the second half to claim an opening 44-13 win over host Catawba on Saturday afternoon at Shuford Stadium and Kirkland Field. The Wolves overcame five turnovers in the win, forcing four and holding the Catawba Indians to just 145 total yards. Quarterback Dallas Dickey was nearly perfect for West Georgia, completing 15-of-17 passes for 204 yards and a pair of scores. He also ran for a touchdown. Aares McCall eclipsed the 100-yard mark on the ground with 107 yards on 11 carries. Dickey threw both of his touchdown strikes in the third quarter to help the Wolves break away from a 16-13 lead at the half. His first strike went for 47 yards to Qa Walker and the second went to Shaq Hall for 29 yards to push the margin to 30-13 midway through the period. West Georgia tacked on two fourth-quarter scores for the final margin. Cary Littlejohn produced the lone Catawba touchdown with a five-yard run late in the second quarter to pull the Indians within 16-13. He finished with 57 yards on the ground. Bruce Smith caught three passes for 22 yards. Kyle Kitchens had a big day on defense for Catawba. He was in on seven tackles with three going for losses, including a sack. He would force two fumbles and recover one. The Wolves scored on their opening drive as Dickey ran in from 10 yards. West Georgia looked poised to go up by two scores, but Kitchens forced a fumble at the Catawba 36. The Indians were able to capitalize with a 25-yard field goal from Chad Hollandsworth to cut the deficit to 8-3. A sack and forced fumble by Jamal Lackey led to a second Hollandsworth field goal late in the first quarter to make it 8-6. Catawba forced another fumble late in the first quarter, but the Indians failed to benefit from the miscue and Telvin Brown followed with a 66-yard punt return to put the Wolves up 16-6 after a second two-point conversion. A bad snap on a punt by the Eagles set up the winning kick. The Indians held Carson-Newman to just 23 yards in the second half.

Nov. 18, 2000 - Shuford Stadium (Salisbury,NC)NCAA II Playoffs#3 Catawba 28, #8 West Georgia 24 Catawba scored twice in the final quarter to rally from a 10-point deficit. Joe Hilliard scored from two-yards out with 1:38 remaining for the winning score. Mitch Ellis, playing on a bad knee, threw for 380 yards and three scores.

Nov. 25, 2000 - Shuford Stadium (Salisbury,NC)NCAA II South Region Final#11 Delta State 20, #3 Catawba 14 On a muddy field, played in a steady, cold rain, Catawba saw Delta State run for 339 yards en route to the win. The Indians got a blocked punt for a score with 3:53 to go in the third quarter, but the offense never penetrated the Statesman’s 40-yard-line the rest of the way.

Sept. 22, 2001 - Bailey Memorial Stadium (Clinton,SC)#6 Catawba 28, #22 Presbyterian 14 Luke Samples made his debut as the Catawba quarterback and tossed a go-ahead score to open the second half to snap a 7-7 tie. Rodney Wallace ran for 145 yards and two scores to pace the Tribe.

Rodney Wallace scored on a short run with 12:56 left for the final points. Luke Samples iced the game when he connected with Arnold Gaither for a 31-yard gain on third-and-20 with just over a minute remaining.

Nov. 24, 2001 - Bazemore-Hyder Stadium (Valdosta,GA)NCAA II South Region Final#7 Catawba 37, #1 Valdosta State 34 (OT) Tony Hawkins scored from four-yards out with eight second left in regulation and Matt Gross kicked a 35-yard field goal in overtime to give Catawba one of the biggest wins in school history. The Blazers out-gained Catawba 487 to 276, but committed five turnovers and had a pair of field goals blocked by Darris Morris.

Dec. 1, 2001 - Lubbers Stadium (Allendale,MI)NCAA II Semifinals#2 Grand Valley State 34, #7 Catawba 16 One of the best seasons in school history came to an end as the Lakers pulled away in the final quarter. Catawba got within 20-16 on a Rodney Wallace run with 6:36 left, but GVSU scored twice in the final 5:19 to ice the game.

Sept. 14, 2002 - Miller Stadium (Indiana,PA)#18 Indiana,PA 27, #8 Catawba 26 Catawba saw IUP rally for three fourth-quarter scores to stun the Tribe in the final 10 minutes. Brian Eyerman’s 36-yard strike with 1:37 left provided the winning points.

Nov. 2, 2002 - Pioneer Field (Greeneville,TN)#10 Catawba 29, #24 Tusculum 17 Catawba built a 29-7 lead and then had to hold off the Poineers. Tusculum was denied three times without points inside the Tribe 25-yard line in the final quarter.

Nov. 9, 2002 - Ludwig Stadium (Salisbury,NC)#3 Carson-Newman 34, #9 Catawba 9 In a game played at Salisbury High School due to renova-tions at Shuford Stadium, Carson-Newman ran for 450 yards and pulled away from a 13-9 lead in the final half.

Nov. 23, 2002 - Bazemore-Hyder Stadium (Valdosta,GA)NCAA II Playoffs#2 Valdosta State 24, #16 Catawba 7 Valdosta avenged the playoff upset from the previous year, keeping Catawba off the board until the third quarter in building a 24-0 lead. Catawba drove inside the Blazer 20 on its opening drive, but was intercepted in the end zone.

Sept. 20, 2003 - Jeralds Stadium (Fayetteville,NC)#8 Catawba 17, #14 Fayetteville State 14 Rodney Wallace scored two touchdowns and put the Tribe on top to stay with a one-yard plunge late in the third quarter. The Broncos hit the upright on a 47-yard field goal try early in the fourth quarter and Steven Williams ended the final drive with a force-fumbling sack.

Nov. 1, 2003 - Shuford Stadium (Salisbury,NC)#7 Catawba 27, #15 Tusculum 22 Catawba sealed the win on a halfback pass from Corey Ready to Brian Carter with less than a minute to play as the Indians held off Tusculum. The Pioneers had just 72 yards in the opening half, but scored twice early in the third quarter to pull even.

Nov. 8, 2003 - Burke-Tarr Stadium (Jefferson City,TN)#10 Carson-Newman 41, #6 Catawba 36 Luke Samples threw for a school-record 492 yards and nearly rallied Catawba from a 34-3 second-half deficit. C-N went up 41-22 with 9:02 remaining, but two strikes from Samples had the Tribe within 41-36 with 3:01 left, but the Eagles were able to run out the clock.

Sept. 11, 2004 - Miller Stadium (Indiana,PA)#12 Catawba 52, #9 Indiana,PA 19 Catawba used four turnovers to rout IUP, rolling up 456 yards of offense. A 57-yard TD pass and a blocked punt for a score gave the Tribe a 28-12 lead at the break.

Oct. 30, 2004 - Shuford Stadium (Salisbury, NC)#18 Carson-Newman 49, #22 Catawba 30 Catawba struck for 24 second-quarter points to erase a 12-0 deficit, but it was all Eagles in the final half. C-N totaled 629 yards to 455 for Catawba.

Oct. 27, 2005 - Burke-Tarr Stadium (Jefferson City,TN)#24 Carson-Newman 33, Catawba 21 The Eagles cashed in on four Tribe turnovers in the win. C-N built a 27-7 lead after three quarter and iced the game on a 60-yard interception return with 3:35 left.

Oct. 7, 2006 - Setzler Field (Newberry,SC)#18 Newberry 21, Catawba 14 Catawba battled to the end, but came up short inside the Newberry 20 on the game’s final possession. A fourth-down pass from Brad Roach to Lance Johnson in the final quarter tied the game, but a short run by Alex Haynes gave Newberry the winning points with 1:49 remaining.

Oct. 14, 2006 - Shuford Stadium (Salisbury,NC)Catawba 24, #15 Carson-Newman 22 Brad Roach threw for 335 yards and three scores and Joe Brown stopped a two-point try with 6:42 left to give Catawba the win. Carson-Newman had just 64 yards in the opening half, but used two big runs and a 64-yard scoring pass to take a 16-10 lead in the third quarter.


♦CATAWBA vs. TOP 25Sept. 1, 2007 - Roebuck Stadium (Elizabeth City,NC)Catawba 34, #22 Elizabeth City State 7 Kory Fisher ran for 140 yards and Brad Roach accounted for three touchdowns in the win. Catawba used a pair of scores in the final three minutes of the first half to lead 20-7 at the break. ECSU had just 184 yards to 487 for Catawba.

Sept. 27, 2007 - Shuford Stadium (Salisbury,NC)#14 Catawba 45, #23 Mars Hill 21 In front of a record crowd of 5,514 and on national television, Catawba improved to 5-0 with the 45-21 win. Brad Roach com-pleted 17-of-23 passes for 249 yards and the Indians used three second quarter turnovers to build a 28-0 haltime lead. Arthur Cromartie made a key play as he intercepted a swing pass and returned it 66 yards for a score and a 14-0 lead midway through the second quarter.

Oct. 6, 2007 - Shuford Stadium (Salisbury,NC)#13 Catawba 28, #19 Newberry 18 Travis Landrum answered a Newberry field goal with a 90-yard kickoff return to give Catawba the lead for good at 14-10 midway through the third quarter. The Tribe added two more scores to go up 28-10 in the final minutes. Jasmon Carpenter ended Newberry hopes with an interception in the end zone and added a 93-yard return to set up the final Catawba score with four minutes to play.

Oct. 13, 2007 - Burke-Tarr Stadium (Jefferson City,TN)#12 Catawba 55, #7 Carson-Newman 49 In a game for the ages, Catawba rallied from a 35-13 deficit to steal its first win in Jefferson City since 1987. George Bell scored three fourth-quarter touchdowns, including the game-winner from a yard out with 26 seconds left. Brad Roach went 37-of-64 for 486 yards and four TDs, while Brent Johnson set a school record with 13 receptions totaling 172 yards. The teams combined for 1261 total yards, with Catawba having 651. The teams traded touchdowns after Catawba tied the score at 35-35 midway through the third quarter.

Nov. 24, 2007 - Bazemore-Hyder Stadium (Valdosta,GA)NCAA II Playoffs#8 Valdosta State 55, #12 Catawba 29 Valdosta used four Catawba turnovers and rallied from a 16-13 halftime deficit to end the Tribe’s season in the second round of the playoffs. The Blazers returned a fumble for a score on the game’s second play, but Catawba managed to grab a lead on first quarter scores by George Bell and Brandon Bunn, on a pass from Brad Roach. VSU went up 27-16 then capitalized on three straight Catawba miscues to grab a commanding 48-16 edge. Roach threw for 278 and three scores in his final game. Michael Terry ran for 139 yards as the Blazers went to the ground in the final half, totaling 210 of their 285 yards after the break.

Oct. 11, 2008 - Shuford Stadium (Salisbury,NC)#21 Carson-Newman 21, Catawba 14 Carson-Newman scored in the final minute on a 29-yard pass from Alex Good to Otis Miller with 44 seconds to play to rally for the win. The Eagles had tied the game at 14-all with 6:41 remaining. Catawba had moved into Eagle territory with just under five minutes to play, but fumbled. The Indians also had a desperation pass from midfield on the final play. Good ran for 129 yards and passed for 106, but C-N was held nearly 200 yards below their season average, outgaining Catawba 325 to 315. Jamelle Cuthbertson ran for 125 yards for the Indians and caught four passes for 61 yards. The Tribe lost for the first time in 38 games when scoring first.

Oct. 25, 2008 - Belk Stadium (Wingate,NC)#20 Wingate 34, Catawba 24 Wingate scored a pair of touchdowns eight seconds apart late in the first half to erase a 14-7 deficit which propelled the Bulldogs to the win. Catawba failed to convert a third down opportunity for the second time in three games and did not cause a turnover. Jamelle Cuthbertson scored on a pair of short touchdown runs to give the Indians a 14-7 lead after a quarter, but the senior was held to just 57 yards on the day, snapping his record tying streak of four-straight 100 yard games. JD Moore tossed three TD passes in a winning effort for Wingate.

Oct. 15, 2011 - Shuford Stadium (Salisbury,NC)#25 Mars Hill 31, Catawba 28 (OT) Mars Hill held Catawba on two downs at the one-yard-line to take the overtime win. Catawba had held the Lions to a field goal on the first possessoin of overtime after Mars Hill had converted a fourth-and-16 on its first series. Jonas Randolph ran for 331 yards to lead a Mars Hill offense that amassed 552 total yards. Jon Richt threw three touchodwn passes to help the Lions to an early 21-7 lead. Trey Mashore’s 100-yard kickoff return sparked Catawba to a 21-21 tie at the half.

Sept. 28, 2013 - Burke-Tarr Stadium (Jefferson City,TN)Catawba 25, #10 Carson-Newman 22 Catawba drove 88 yards for the go-ahead score in the final three minutes then partially-blocked a 33-yard field goal try by Carson-Newman in the dying seconds. Danny O’Brien threw for 444 yards and the winning score on a 34-yard pass to Carlos Tarrats with 56 seconds remaining. The Catawba defense had a big goalline stand in the first quarter and also held the Eagles to three field goals in trips to the red zone to keep the game low-scoring. Carson-Newman did not have a run over 11 yards in the game.

Oct. 19, 2013 - Shuford Stadium (Salisbury,NC)#10 UNC Pembroke 34, Catawba 31 Catawba came up just short in the upset bid. The Indians trailed 24-3 late in third quarter before Mark McDaniel returned an interception 33 yards for a score and Carlos Tarrats threw a 68-yard pass on a reverse to Nate Charest to get Catawba back in the game. The Indians got within three with just under four minutes left, but UNC Pembroke was able to run out the clock. An 81-yard TD pass by the Braves in the final minute of the opening half gave Pembroke a 17-3 lead at the half. Luke Charles threw for 336 yards and three scores. Charest made 10 catches for 153 yards for Catawba.

Nov. 16, 2013 - Shuford Stadium (Salisbury,NC)#14 Lenoir-Rhyne 48, Catawba 15 Lenoir-Rhyne rolled up 503 yards of total offense and pulled away from a 20-9 lead at the half. The Bears ran for 445 yards with Graham Duncan scoring twice. Teverrius Jones ran for a score and threw for a score. Catawba’s day was highlighted by Nate Charest, who set a new school mark for receptions in a season with 73. Carlos Tar-rats scored both Tribe touchdowns, catching a 74-yarder from Mike Sheehan and running for another.

Sept. 27, 2014 - Shuford Stadium (Salisbury,NC)#19 Carson-Newman 35, Catawba 33 Catawba outgained Carson-Newman 506 yards to 486 yards, but came up a couple points short of the upset. De’Andre Thomas ran for four touchdowns and threw one to lead the Eagles. Mike Sheehan threw for 387 yards for Catawba, while Carlos Tarrats made six catches for 147 yards and a TD. Carson-Newman jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quar-ter and never trailed. Catwba pulled within 28-26 early in the fourth quarter, but missed a two-point conversion try that would have tied the game. After the Indians cut the margin to 35-33, Carson-Newman ran out the final three minutes of the clock.


♦CATAWBA vs. TOP 25Nov. 15, 2014 - Moretz Stadium (Hickory,NC)#3 Lenoir-Rhyne 27, Catawba 21 Chris Robinson ran for 130 yards and a score to help the nationally-ranked Bears hold off an upset bid by Catawba. The Indians got within a score in the final minute on a Mike Sheehan to Carlos Tarrats touchdown pass, but Sheehan was intercepted on the final play to end the game.

Sept. 5, 2015 - Shuford Stadium (Salisbury,NC)#4 West Georgia 44, Catawba 13 West Georgia scored 28 unanswered points in the second half to pull away from Catawba. Dallas Dickey was 15-of-17 passing for 204 and two touchdown, while Aares McCall ran for 107 yards. The Indians defense forced and recovered five fumbles with Kyle Kitchens and Jamal Lackey in on three each. Cary Littlejohn ac-counted for the lone Catawba touchdown.
