ASSOCIATION OF SACRAMENTO COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT VETERANS AND EMPLOYEES From the President The final message from your Lame Duck President. I want to thank every member for supporting my presidency over the past two years. I admit I was a little nervous when first elected, but I have grown to love the position. It is time for someone else to step in, and that someone will be Richard (Mad Dog) Madrigal. Our November meeting was very well attended, and Richard and his entire slate of candidates won in a landslide. John Woodhouse will be the Vice President. The only other changes will be on the Board of Directors, with Don Nelson taking over the Woodhouse seat, and Tom Guichard and JoAnn Lee winning the positions vacated by termed-out board members Sandy Boyd and Karlene Doupe. Your club remains in good hands. We tried a new venue for the November meeting, and I think everyone agreed it was a success. Evan's Kitchen Banquet Room provided a great meal and a nice facility. We didn't have to set up, break down, or sweep the floor. We had to raise the price of the meal, but it was well worth it. If we want to have future meetings at Evan's we would have to adjust the price, and change the dates. The banquet room only operates on Mondays, and the SVPOA has the first Monday of the month locked up. So any changes will be an- nounced well in advance. For now, I have secured SPOA on Bercut Drive for the January and February meetings, the second Wednesday of the month. You should have gotten your "DUES" envelope from Kathy by now. I know each and every one of you wants to stay an active member, so get your re-enlistment money to Kathy ASAP. Also, hopefully you have RSVP'd for the Christmas party taking place on December 7th at Lionsgate. Nancy has once again planned this event, and if it is anything like last years, it promises to be a great time. You don’t want to miss it. And don't forget to bring a toy or a gift certificate to the Christmas party. Toy Project staffers will be there to accept whatever gifts we can donate to go to their Christmas giveaways. I know how generous you people can be so lets have a good showing. I will close by saying once again how much I have enjoyed my term as President. Over the years this organization has built a solid reputation for generosity, and it remains an excellent way to maintain ties with the Sheriff’s Department and other former employees. Let's keep the 711 Club vibrant and strong. -EE (Earl Evans) IN THIS ISSUE: Presidents Message 1 2016 Club Officers 2 Birthdays 2 Meeting Minutes 3 Our Next Meeting 4 711 711 711 CLUB CLUB CLUB NEWSLETTER NEWSLETTER NEWSLETTER WWW.711CLUB.ORG December 2016
