    Q) When guru dakshina is given to Satguru, my mother says that we should

watch the satguru about the expenditure of that donation. Is it correct?

Ans) This statement is not correct. Once you decide Him as satguru, you must

have 100% belief that He is God. If you have any trace of doubt, then He is onlyguru and not satguru. Guru is a devotee and scholar. The word Sat mean God

according to Veda. Therefore, you must take long time to analyse and distinguish

the guru and satguru. Guru is the guide and shows the path to reach God. Satguru

is the human incarnation, who is both guide and goal. Narada was guru but Krishnawas satguru. The composition of guru is gross body, subtle body and cause body.

The composition of satguru is also these three bodies, but these three bodies arecharged and pervaded all over by God. If guru misuses guru dakshina, he will be

punished by God. If Satguru misuses it, that is not misuse at all. It is properly used

which will appear as misuse apparently. We do not know the background of it.

You must have 100% faith and should not doubt Him in any angle. Infact the entireworld is His immovable property. All the living beings are His movable property.

You are part parcel of His property. Where is the concept of donation? Veda saysthat when you give guru dakshina to satguru, you must give it with shyness and

fear. Generally, people give excess of money as guru dakshina. You are permittedto take from His property for your basic needs only. If you have earned excess, you

have stolen His wealth. Veda says the same (Ma grudhaha ). You are returningthe stolen wealth to owner as guru dakshina. Therefore you must fear and feel shy.

You must also give secretly (Gupta daanam) because returning back the stolenwealth to its owner should not be done openly. Veda says the same (Hriya deyam,

bhiya deyam). Veda also says that before giving guru dakshina, a very deep logicalanalysis must be done to decide weather he is a guru or Satguru. When you donate

money to a temple, it is taken by the trust, which consists of good devotees. Theyare not God. They are most likely to err. Certainly they will not steal the money,

but they do not know how to spend it properly. Generally they spend it onconstructions and create more facilities to visitors. A piligrim should not be

encouraged with facilities. In the old times the temples were in forests and on hills.Piligrims will develop devotion only through difficulties. Thus the money is not

properly spent. It should be spent to propagate true knwledge and devotion to God.

Piligrims are coming to temples to fulfill their desires. They donate for that

purpose only. The trust creates facilities to them. All this is business. The devotionand sacrifice without aspiring anything in return should be developed through the

propagation of true knowledge. When they come to temples, the prostitute type or

merchant type devotees should be transformed to real devotees. Money should bespent for this purpose. Your donation is either wasted or misused. For this he will

be punished because it is a sin. Even if the poor people or beggars are helped by

our money without preaching them devotion and spiritual knowledge, that also isa sin because it is interference in the administration of God which was explainedby Me at several places.

Mahabharata says that donation to undeserving and denial of donation to deservingare the two sins. After lot of logical analysis only donation should be done

because, donation brings both good and bad results. The candidate to receive thedonation is most important. Time and place are not important. If the receiver is

satguru, any place and any day are sacred. If the receiver is undeserving, even if itis a temple or even if it is a day of pious festival, sin is purchased. Instead o

donating to ten undeserving people for ten days without discrimination in haste, itis better to donate all the accumulated donation to one deserving person on one

day. You feed hundred piligrims in Benares on shivaratri day. God is not pleasedwith that because your money is misused. With the same money select one

deserving devotee and feed him for 100 days at any place. Lot of time should betaken in selecting the deserving person. Meanwhile go on accumulating the

donation. Veda says samvida deyam, which means donation must be done afterlot of analysis. When you give it to satguru, He will spend in the best way.

Sometimes He may give your guru dakshina to another individual. You are nothappy about it because that person is undeserving. But satguru gave that money to

him because you have stolen money from him in the previous birth. God is clearingour debt. You cannot understand His ways because He alone knows all the

background. People used to give guru dakshina to Shrdi Sai baba. Sometimes Babawas demanding for guru dakshina. He was taking the money and was pocketing it

with lot of care. People misunderstood him. By next morning all the money

disappeared. Actually in the midnight, He was giving secretly that money to some

deserving devotees. How nice it would be if He gives the same money to the samedeserving in the daytime in the presence of all! Was He foolish in not doing so?

    o. He was testing the failth of donor. Satguru takes guru dakshina only to cutour bond with the money (dhaneshana). In Vishnu Puranm, the Lord said that He

would take the money from a devotee if He wants to uplift him (tasya vittam

haramyaham). When you donate to Datta, He will not look at the donated money

but He will look at the remaining money. When the Lord came as a guest toSaktuprastha, the Lord asked for the entire food. The family of Saktuprastha wasfasting for the last ten days, since it was a severe draught.
