Message from the General Manager

Over the past few months, we have receivedan overwhelming response to the wonderfulevents at the Resort and as a result of thegrowing range of activities, one of ourregular readers has suggested a new namefor the magazine, so we have taken this ongood advice and therefore, welcome to -Resort Happenings !

The Resort staged the 21st ANZ LadiesMasters Golf Tournament and what a greatsuccess it was. Despite the wet weatherchallenges, the sun gods were kind and wehad no interruptions to play over the 4 days. The ‘Ladies of Swing’ provided us with sometremendous golf and entertainment and whocould miss the effervescent Americanprofessional, Christina Kim as she shook thehands of fans, joked with the volunteers andwore her flamboyant golfing attire? To top-offthe spectacular golf, the final day’s play sawdefending champion Katherine Hull and 6time winner of the event, Karrie Webb, battleit out with Karrie eventually drawing awayfrom the field to claim her 7th LadiesMasters title. We look forward to the eventbeing hosted here again next year.

Wood fired Pizza you may ask? We canannounce that the new Trattoria Amici is nowopen and serving-up some superb Italianinspired recipes and beverages. So bringsome friends and the family and enjoy thefun atmosphere – the kids can now alsoenjoy the thrill of our new jumping pillow inthe renovated playground area!

Continuing on the theme of new restaurants,a number of our members and guests havebeen enquiring about RPR’s renovations andthe new Executive Members Lounge onLevel 21. We can announce that RPR’s will

continue operating on Level 21 until the endof May 2010 and then we will relocate RPR’sto Level 2 during the renovation period. Forour RACV Club members, the interim ExecutiveMembers Lounge on Level 22 will remainopen throughout the renovation period.

The Resort’s ‘Community One’ program isagain proud to be coordinating someimportant participation in National fundraising events. The annual “Walk for BreastCancer” to be held on Mother’s Day, willinclude an eager team from Royal Pines. Atlast year’s event, the RPR team comprisedover 50 local residents and were awarded thelargest corporate group on the day. We wishto build on the number this year andencourage you, your family and friends to bepart of this classic event. For moreinformation, please contact our Golf & Sportsdepartment. And following on from this, theResort will also be part of “Australia’sBiggest Morning Tea” to be held on 27 May.

In this edition of Resort Happenings, there isa fantastic array of interactive holiday andEaster activities for the kids, special memberoffers and exciting events for the grown-up’sfor all to enjoy. We look forward to welcomingyou to the Resort and thankyou for yourcontinued support and participation. Happy reading.
